by Heart Fragments are one of Constance ‘s collectibles and as you can imagine from their name, their function is to increase our protagonist’s maximum life.
These work very similarly to the “Quarter Hearts” so typical of The Legend of Zelda series, only in this case they’re more like “Third Hearts.” That is, for every 3 Heart Fragments you collect, your maximum health will increase slightly.

Since there are a total of 9 of these fragments in the game, that means you can increase your maximum life a total of 3 times, and suffice it to say that this is something that is well worth it to be able to withstand more damage from enemies and other types of damaging elements.
Heart Fragment #1
- Map Area : Floral Forge.
- Necessary Brush Techniques : Brushstroke.
The first Heart Fragment you can obtain in Constance shouldn’t give you too much trouble. It’s located in the Floral Forge (yellow area), very close to the main base. You just need to hit that wall of corruption at the top of the room I’m indicating with the Brush Thrust technique.

You can buy it at Quip and his cousins’ shop for 400 Glimpses. You’ll unlock more items for sale as you find more of his cousins around the map.
Heart Excerpt #3
- Map Area : Cavernous Chambers.
- Necessary Brush Techniques : Wall Dive.
The only requirement is the Wall Dive technique, a technique you also get in Cavernous Chambers as soon as you advance a little through that area to get its Tear.
You’ll find the Heart Fragment in the elevator room of the area ; you have to go to the upper right. From there, you’ll encounter the typical platforming section where you must skillfully use the air dash and the Wall Dive ability.
You can achieve this without the double jump, although of course, not having it makes things a bit more difficult. The “Dark Embrace” Inspiration is highly recommended to avoid taking damage while using the air dash while corrupted, which will happen since you’ll have to use it quite often.

- Map Area : Astral Academy.
- Necessary Brush Techniques : Brushstroke.
You can find this in the Astral Academy, and you’ll need the Brush Technique “Brushstroke,” which is the teleportation hook . You can get that technique in the same area.
As you can see, the room in question is next to the main hall of the Astral Academy area. Once in the indicated room, simply head upwards until you find one of those purple suction tubes that pull you to the left.
You’ll see that on the right side of that pipe there are shadows ; you have to use the dash to the right several times to pass through the shadows, and once you’ve crossed them you’ll see the heart at the top.

- Map Area : Astral Academy.
- Necessary Brush Techniques : Brushstroke.
Once again you’ll need the Brushstroke technique to reach the room; you know that this skill is used a lot in Astral Academy.
This Heart Fragment is quite hidden. When you reach the room shown in the image, go to the area with the large telescope and then to the left wall. Use your wall-climbing ability to climb it , and you’ll find it.

- Map Area : Cavernous Chambers.
- Necessary Brush Techniques : Brushstroke.
That room in the Cavernous Chambers is easily recognizable because of that drawing of that sort of sanctuary with the triangular roof, but make sure you go there with the “Brushstroke” skill.
Go to the top of the area and use Brushstroke to use the teleport hook on the white circles you’ll see at the top and you’ll reach the heart.

- Necessary Brush Techniques : Somersault.
Finding it is straightforward; you’ll see it as soon as you go to the room I’ve indicated. The only thing is, you can only get it if you already have the Somersault ability (the double jump) , so remember to return to this area once you’ve acquired it.

- Map Area : Chaotic Carnival.
- Necessary Brush Techniques : Somersault.
Use the elevator to get to Chaotic Carnival, as this will land you right where you need to be to find this fragment. From the elevator area, head up and to the left, using the double jump and air dash , and you’ll find it.
