Manipulator Replica is supposedly an improved version of the boss The Manipulator of Constance . Why do I say “supposedly”? Well, because I honestly found it much easier to defeat than its previous version.
It’s the typical boss that relentlessly launches projectile after projectile, forcing you to constantly dodge. I know that sounds harsh, but its attacks are easy to dodge, and while it will likely hit you a few times, the “Sustain” Inspiration (heals on hit with Brush Thrust) will probably generate more health than you lose, as long as you’re not too reckless.

Boss Location: Chaotic Carnival

Reaching the boss isn’t too difficult, as you can see, he’s in one of the rooms on the right side of Chaotic Carnival. As you probably already know, this area has large sections, but very few rooms.
Replica Manipulator Attack Guide
We return once again to a boss that follows a cycle of attacks more or less in order:
Drop Bombs
He always starts the battle with this attack, launching numerous bombs in all directions that explode on direct contact with you or after a short time (they turn red and swell up shortly before exploding). Keep in mind that these bounce slightly.
Just dodge with the dash , there’s not much more to it. The double jump is also very useful ; if you don’t have it yet, go check out the next post (the ability is called “Deadly Leap” in this game):
Star Bombs
After a while, he launches bombs that explode almost instantly, releasing tiny stars that float across the screen (moving erratically). Go to areas with fewer stars, and when all else fails, dodge.
By the way, the little stars also explode (a very small explosion, but oh well) after a while.
Billiard balls
Now he starts throwing billiard balls that fall from the sky and then roll in one direction. First he throws one, and then a short time later, the other. You have to be careful not to get hit by one and dodge them when they hit the ground.
The balls disappear when they collide with each other . Until then, they will roll along the ground.
Bullet “Semihell”
After you hit him a few times, the boss will be stunned for a while, at which point you know exactly what to do. It’s after this that Manipulator Replicator will use this attack.
It’s a Bullet Hell (semi because it’s quite easy to dodge), you know, the typical attack where they throw tons of projectiles at you in a pattern and the screen fills up with little balls that cause contact damage .
In this case, it involves several spiral waves, and the correct way to dodge the entire attack is by positioning yourself in the gap between one wave and another, advancing a little in the same direction, dashing back to position yourself in the new gap that appears behind you, advancing a little in the new gap, dashing back… repeating this loop until it gets tired.
Additional Tips
While dodging, and whenever it’s safe, hit him with Brush Thrust (with “Sustain” equipped).

Furthermore, I want to recommend a new discovery: the “Warrior Pose” Inspiration . It’s a very special Inspiration because it reduces the damage we take from enemies, and its effect increases with the number of adjacent (attached) Inspirations it has.
The idea is to equip it in a slot where it has 4 Inspirations on the 4 sides in contact with it for maximum effect (you’ll see 4 purple arrows pointing upwards under the description of “Warrior Pose”). I’ve gone into battle like this and it made a huge difference.
Rewards for Overcoming the Battle
A few Glimpses and Light Stones, nothing more, another rather stingy boss. That’s life.next boss
