As you know, Painting Techniques consume this purple bar, and if it reaches zero, Constance enters a corrupted state where she takes damage when using these techniques. This is why upgrading the Paint Bar’s size is so worthwhile.

There are a total of 12 of these Paint Jars in the game, and for every 4 you collect, you’ll get a paint bar size upgrade, allowing you to upgrade it a total of 3 times. This post shows you the location of all of them.
Paint Bottle #1
- Map Area : Cavernous Chambers.
- Necessary Brush Techniques : Paint Dip.
It’s found in the Cavernous Chambers (the green area) in the room I’ve indicated. You can get it practically at the beginning of the game, right after getting the dash .
In that room, if you explore it a bit, you’ll find the chest in question, but it’s inaccessible without the double jump technique. However, you can still access it without the double jump by going along the upper path and using the dash to get through a wall of spikes .
Paint Bottle #2
This jar is one of the things you can buy at Quip and his cousins’ shop . You know, as you find more cousins, they’ll sell you more items. The Paint Jar costs 400 Glimpses.
Paint Bottle #3
- Map Area : Floral Forge.
- Necessary Brush Techniques : Paint Dip and Brush Stroke.
It’s located in Floral Forge (yellow area). Once you advance a little further through the area, you’ll reach the area marked in purple in the photo.
When you get to that room, you’ll quickly see the Paint Jar, but you’ll have to get through a platforming section (it’s not complicated) to reach it.
Paint Bottle #4
- Map Area : Cavernous Chambers.
- Necessary Brush Techniques : Wall Dive.
It is located in that huge horizontal room (with water at the bottom) of the Cavernous Chambers that is in the lower left part of the map.
Enter the square block you see by dashing down onto it. Now , move inside the block, first downwards to dive into the water, then to the left to reach a hidden room with a chest. Go up with the block, jump off it, and hit the chest.

- Map Zone : Catastrophic Crossroads.
- Necessary Brush Techniques : Wall Dive.
You need to take the path indicated by the green arrow. Go to the central area of the room and from there climb the wall upwards on the left .
Paint Bottle #6
- Map Area : Astral Academy.
- Necessary Brush Techniques : Brushstroke.
The jar is located at the bottom right of the room. There you’ll find a platforming section where you must combine the teleport grappling hook with the dash and wall-climbing ability. It’s somewhat tricky, but not too difficult.
If you get attacked in this platforming area, here are 2 tips:
- Remember that you can go through spiked walls from top to bottom by sticking to a wall in paint mode (the wall-climbing ability, you know) and letting yourself fall.
- Anchoring to a new wall means you can use the dash in the air again . I know it’s obvious, but there’s a point where if you don’t realize this, you can get stuck.
Paint Bottle #7
- Map Area : Cavernous Chambers.
- Necessary Brush Techniques : Brushstroke.
From the room on the left, access via the central path (I have marked it with a red “x”), you will have to use the ability to climb walls.
Once you’re in the correct room, you need to use the teleport hook ability on the white orbs (if you have the ability, you know what I mean) to climb up. Also use the wall-climbing ability, and of course, the dash and Brush Thrust to clear the corrupted walls until you reach the Paint Bottle.
Paint Bottle #8
- Map Area : Floral Forge.
- Necessary Brush Techniques : Brushstroke and Downward Stroke.
Although it’s located in Floral Forge, access is from Chaotic Carnival. This flask is in the room directly to the right of where you fight Palettus , so I recommend checking his guide to learn how to get there. It’s very important to go there because that’s where you get the double jump.
Along the way you’ll find that boss and the flask, but you’ll have the typical platforming challenge and it’s somewhat complex.
Paint Bottle #9
- Map Area : Chaotic Carnival.
- Necessary Brush Techniques : Dive Down and Somersault (I don’t know if the latter is 100% necessary, but it certainly complicates things not having it).
Your first objective is to reach the Sanctuary in the area I indicated in the photo (purple room, you know); where you also have one of those “eyes of Sauron of light” that allow you to unlock the final boss of Chaotic Carnival ( Cornelis ).
From there, take the path to the upper left. As usual, a platforming challenge awaits you before you reach the jar. Here, you’ll need to combine dash, double jump, Paint Slash, and dive abilities. Don’t forget that you can bounce off the spikes with “Dive,” something you’ll have to do in the final stretch because you won’t have any more red balloons available.
Paint Bottle #10
- Map Area : Cavernous Chambers.
- Necessary Brush Techniques : Wall Dive and Somersault.
Drop down that huge vertical room and look very carefully because almost at the end of the fall (you can hang onto the wall to descend in a controlled manner) you will see the typical breakable wall on the left.
Break it and from there you just have to climb upwards (you can’t grab onto the silver walls) using the dash and the double jump.
Paint Bottle #11
- Map Area : Astral Academy.
- Necessary Brush Techniques : Brushstroke.
The most hidden in the game without a doubt, if you are missing only one and it is not the previous one (which is also quite something) it is almost certainly this one.
In the area I’m indicating at the Astral Academy, you’ll see several of those purple suction tubes. You have to let yourself be sucked in by the second tube from the bottom of those on the left side (look at the visual image).
