Lord Koba is one of the main bosses in Constance, as he is one of those bosses that provides you with one of the 4 Tears needed to beat this game, a game that I must say I’m enjoying quite a lot.
He’s not a particularly difficult boss, but he’s not easy either. I have to say, being a main boss, I expected him to be more challenging. I mean, Brian is considerably more difficult, I’d say, although perhaps that’s partly because we’re getting the hang of the game.

Boss Location: Cavernous Chambers

Lord Koba’s combat zone is right in that room where you talked to Emilie (that NPC on a mountain of treasure), however, you have to take a long detour since you have to access it from the left side.
The first thing to do is reach the shrine at the bottom of the photo, which you’ll get to quickly after defeating Sir Vomitón , the previous boss. From there, follow the route I’ve marked with a green line.
However, before entering the boss room (the purple one in the photo), make sure to enable the shortcut I’ve marked with the red “X” to avoid so much backtracking in case you don’t beat the boss on your first try (which is quite likely).
Lord Koba’s Attack Guide
Once again we are faced with a boss that does not have phases as such, but does follow a cycle of looped attacks that I consider that technically speaking, they do not qualify as phases.
Out for a Stroll + Launch
The boss will start by slowly moving back and forth across the screen. Simply approach one of the two side walls and wait for the boss to come near you, then climb the wall (using the Painting Technique you recently acquired, you know) and jump over him.
When you pass over him, take advantage and use the Brush Thrust aimed downwards to hit him in the eyes (his weak point and the only place he can take damage). Then use the dash in the air to avoid landing on him, just in case.
You’ll probably miss the attack because it needs to be quite precise, and besides, Lord Koba occasionally closes his eyes, and when they’re closed, you won’t be able to hurt him. Anyway, you’ve got nothing to lose by trying, and if it works, so be it.
Soon he’ll start throwing enemies at you, so keep your distance from the boss and carefully eliminate them. The boss will also launch a kind of slime that you must avoid, and eventually he’ll throw one of those square blocks that you can dash into and then use as a vehicle. The idea, of course, is to hit him in the eyes with the block.
Block Mode + Eyes Separated
When you hit him in the eyes while he’s in block mode, you’ll see the whole screen turn green (the liquid from the boss you just squashed) and three eyes will appear moving across the screen. Try to hit any of the eyes as many times as you can while he’s in block mode.
After a while, you’ll see the eyes emit electrical beams, and then some gaps will appear (they aren’t painted green). You must go to one of these gaps, but not just any one—the one in the lower center . Stand on one of those globules on the ground and quickly leave the block to enter that unpainted area.
To end the attack loop, the screen will no longer be entirely green, but the three eyes will continue to circle the screen. Your first priority is to dodge them, although I should warn you that they move in a rather confusing way, so you’ll have to be very attentive.
I highly recommend using the Brush Thrust because of its good range; it will be a great help. But remember, you can’t overuse Brush Techniques or you’ll lose health.
If you also equip the “Sustain” Inspiration, you will also restore a little (very little, but every little helps) of health when you hit enemies with Brush Thrust.
By the way, when one eye closes (eyelids closed), you must stop attacking it and continue hitting the other eyes. When all three eyes close, Lord Koba emerges from the ground again and the loop of his attacks resets (you return to Walk + Throw).
Rewards for Overcoming the Battle
The only reward is the Tear of Remembrance , one of the 4 Tears you need to be able to face the final boss of the game.
You’ll see another cinematic with a high lore content that also leaves you quite thoughtful about what happens there.next boss
