by Ghostly Whispers is a side quest for Constance that you can get through the NPC Robert, an NPC you’ll probably recognize, since he’s the robot that gives you the camera practically at the beginning of the game.
The mission is to photograph a total of 4 ghosts. You can’t see these ghosts unless you activate the camera; the thing is, the ghost will always be next to the body of a fallen enemy.

In this post I’ll show you how to get the mission, where to find the 4 ghosts, and also the reward you’ll get for completing this mission.
Mission Location: Robert
Assuming you already have the camera (otherwise, progress a little further in the game; it doesn’t take long to get it), you’ll find Robert in the Astral Academy area . This is the bluish-purple area furthest south on the map.
The exact location is shown in the image, but keep in mind you can’t get there using the upper path; you have to use one of the lower ones (I went the one on the right; that’s where you get the “Brushstroke” Brush Technique, which is the typical “hook” in these kinds of games). Once you’re there, you’ll be able to unlock the upper path.
Location of the 4 Ghosts
Robert asks you for a photo of a ghost, but as soon as you give it to him, he’ll tell you there are 3 more ghosts. So, in total, you have to photograph 4 ghosts.
Ghosts are always found next to the body of a deceased enemy . These are not enemies you have defeated, but bodies that are part of the scenery.
Ghost #1
The first ghost is so easy to find that I don’t even need to add a picture to explain, since it’s in the same room as Robert , but downstairs. In fact, if you look down from where Robert is, you’ll see the body (it’s that enemy that sucks you in and has a face like a trombone).
Getting there is straightforward; you just need to use those purple, electrical-like tubes you’ll recognize from the area. When you’re next to the body, take out your camera and you’ll see the ghost. Take the picture and that’s it, on to the next one.
Ghost #2
The second ghost is also explained at a later point. From Robert’s location, go to the room on the left and then to the room below .
You’ll quickly spot the body of one of those enemies—they’re like flying white maidens that throw spikes or something. Take the picture and we’ll continue.
Ghost #3
As you can see, the room is relatively close to the room where you get the Tear in this area. You’ll need the Brush Technique “Brushstroke” (it’s used in many places in this area, as you know).
In the marked room, you’ll find the body on the middle level (the room is three levels high) on the right side. You’ll see a hole in the floor on the far right . I recommend you eliminate that annoying enemy that hides and creates exploding spheres around your position.
Ghost #4
To get there from the location of ghost 3, you have to move through these rooms: down, right, and up. You’ll find it without much trouble.
Mission Reward
Once you have all 4 photos, talk to Robert again (in the same location) and after a conversation, he will reward you with the “Replicas” Inspiration . This Inspiration improves your dash : when you use it, you will launch 4 paintballs in an “X” pattern.
