Cubicus, Recycler of Realms is the first boss you have to defeat in Constance , and although I can’t say that he’s a difficult boss per se, it’s true that considering he’s the first boss in the game, I was expecting the typical tutorial boss that practically defeats itself.
Review of Book Of Ra Deluxe slot
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying this out of disappointment, quite the opposite! Those who follow my boss guides know very well that I love challenging battles (this one isn’t one) and the fact that the first boss is “slightly challenging” makes me think that we’ll surely have some tremendous battles later on.
Anyway, here’s the guide to defeat him in case this boss is giving you trouble.
Boss Location: Floral Forge

You’ll find Cubicus in the yellow area, which is north of the main base (the red area). Keep in mind that you’ll need the Brush Thrust technique to get there .
Once you’re in the yellow zone (you’ll later discover that the zone is called “Floral Forge”), follow the path I’ve marked in red. It’s the most direct route, but I recommend stopping by the large central room that the red route doesn’t pass through, as that’s where you’ll find the “Interests” Inspiration.
Inspirations are passive abilities, similar to what tools would be in Silksong or amulets in Hollow Knight .
Cubicus Attack Guide
Initially, it only has two distinct attacks. We could say it has another one where it slowly moves to the side, but honestly, there’s not much to it and we could almost consider it pure movement.
Also, be aware that you can only hit him on the side with the white area; that’s his weak point. If you hit him on the other sides, you won’t hurt him.
- Shred : It moves in a straight line across the screen to try and hit you; it makes a total of 3 dashes. As long as you make sure you don’t get stuck on the metal rails it uses to move across the screen, you’re good to go. You can hit it (best with Brush Thrust) right after dodging its third dash; there’s a small opening.
- Dive Attack : It moves upwards, so high you’ll lose sight of it. It will soon fall right where the metal guide rail it uses to move is located, and when it hits the ground, scrap metal will rain down from the sky, which you must dodge. Memorize where its white side is so you can quickly hit it with a Brush Slash after dodging. Keep in mind that when it rises again, the white side will be on the opposite side from where it fell.
After the Dive Attack, Cubicus will be dazed for a while , giving you an opening to attack. Once you reduce his health to at least 50%, phase 2 will begin.
Phase 2
The boss does not change his attacks; the only difference from phase 1 is that a corruption barrier is now applied, which means that if you hit him, you will receive electrical damage.
You can temporarily remove its corruption barrier by using the Brush Technique “Brush Thrust” .
The idea is to always hit him with that ability, and after that, you can hit him with normal attacks until he fully recovers his corruption.
As you can see, in this battle it is key to use the Brush Thrust, I would recommend using it practically all the time, but remember that you should not use it if you run out of paint or else you will lose health instead of paint when you use it (the game warns you of this by changing the colors of the screen and of Constance).
