by Deepslate is an extremely abundant type of stone in Minecraft that is used mainly for decorative purposes, although it can also be used in some of the common recipes in which we use the Stone of a lifetime.
It stands out for having a Greyish Black tone that I personally like a lot; It has a slightly lighter tone than Black Stone and since it has many variants through crafting, it is a very good material to create all kinds of buildings as long as you want them to be dark.
In this post I will explain how you can get this material (extremely easy, but hey, in case there is someone who is starting with the game) and all the recipes for it. I will add the standard recipes of a lifetime, but remember that you can use the Stone Cutter to make this process much easier. The case, here we go!
DEEP SLATE LOCATION IN MINECRAFT

It is without a doubt one of the easiest materials to collect. It is the type of Stone that we will find from the height Y=0 downwards , so it will be enough to dig a little and we will find it in abundance.
DEEP SLATE (DEEPSLATE)
The Deep Slate in its natural state, to get it the easiest thing is to chop it with a Pickaxe with the Silk Touch Enchantment since if we chop it normally what we will obtain is the Rocky Deep Slate. It is not worth much unless you want it for decorative reasons, more than anything since in order to make other recipes we will need the Rocky version.
Another method to achieve it is by putting the Rocky Deep Slate in the oven, the result will be the Deep Slate.
ROCKY DEEP SLATE (COBBLED DEEPSLATE)
As we have already mentioned, this is the version of the Deep Slate that we will obtain when chopping it without Silk Touch and it is the material that we will need for most of the recipes for this material.
It also appears naturally in the Ancient Cities or Ancient Cities.
STAIRS
To craft Rocky Deep Slate Stairs we will have to draw some stairs on the Crafting Table in this way. As you can see, we will need a total of 6 blocks and we will get 4 stairs in the process.
SLAB
For the Rocky Deep Slate Slabs we will simply add a full line (a row) at the bottom, you can actually put the row wherever you want, but I usually do it like this… don’t ask me why, I don’t know. In this case we will need 3 blocks and we will get 3 slabs.
WALL
As for the Rocky Deep Slate Wall , it is similar to the slab, only we will fill in 2 full rows. We will use 6 blocks and get 6 walls.
OTHER RECIPES
In addition to all this, we can also use the Rocky Deep Slate in some of the recipes that ask for the standard Stone (the gray one of a lifetime).
- Stone sword.
- Stone Tools (you know, Pickaxe, Axe…).
- oven .
- Support for Potions .
POLISHED DEEPSLATE
It is a smoother version of this type of material. To achieve this we will have to place 4 blocks of Rocky Deep Slate creating a square and the result of this will be 4 blocks of Polished Deep Slate. This implies that to make this block we don’t even need a Crafting Table , since a 2×2 square will suffice.
To make the stairs, walls and slabs, the recipes will be the same (you have them above) only that we will have to use Deep Polished Slate.
DEEPSLATE BRICKS
To obtain the Bricks we will have to carry out the same process as in the previous case. We place 4 blocks of Polished Deep Slate and we will obtain the Deep Slate Bricks. As you can see, this works for Tiers.
We can also make stairs, walls and slabs with this material.
DEEP SLATE TILES
This is already the last tier of this material and the process is still maintained, 4 blocks of Deep Slate Bricks creating a 2×2 square and that’s it. And yes, we can also make stairs, walls and slabs.
CHISELED DEEPSLATE
This is a block that goes a little further since its creation does not have much to do with the ones we have seen before. To create this block we will simply have to use 2 Rocky Deep Slate Slabs , one on top of the other.
CRACKED VERSIONS
Finally, we have the Cracked versions, which would be blocks with a broken effect to simulate old structures and that kind of thing. It will be enough to put in the oven the block that you want to become cracked and that’s it; but… you won’t be able to do it with all the blocks, but you can with these.
