by The Crystal Knife is an Elden Ring weapon designed for characters who go with a Wizard with some kind of Intelligence Build since it is a weapon that deals magic damage and does not have Strength and Dexterity requirements (something that is not usually abounds in tall Wizards.
It is a dagger-type weapon and will therefore hit quickly; It does not have tremendous damage but by hitting so quickly and also applying Magic damage, well, the damage will end up being noticeable. Anyway, when it comes to choosing a magic damage weapon, I personally would prefer the Crystal Sword since it seems like a more balanced weapon (it’s also quite easy to obtain).
If you are looking for a very fast, light weapon that also has magic damage… well, the truth is that it is a very good option.

It is a dagger and therefore has somewhat low stats, something that will be compensated for later with its attack speed, so in the end it ends up being a good weapon, especially ideal for those characters who cannot or do not want to carry too much weight ( It only weighs 2 kg, which is nothing, come on).
Its physical damage (quite low, of course) is also complemented by some magical damage, not too much, but again we repeat that being a dagger and hitting quickly, that additional magical damage will be quite noticeable. It has a scaling of D shared between the Intelligence, Strength and Dexterity stats, but as the level of the weapon increases, it will scale better and better in Intelligence (which we are very interested in to further increase the magical damage it does), but also not without reaching too high a scale.
It seems to me a good option for those characters who go with a mage with some Intelligence Build and who are looking for a weapon with magic damage that weighs little and is also fast . In addition to this, its attributes to be able to use it effectively are very low, so we can use it practically from the beginning (a very good starting weapon for a Magician, really). Although getting it at the beginning will be somewhat complicated because it is in a mine that although it is very accessible, it is also true that it is a somewhat cumbersome area (due to its enemies and such) for the beginning.
In any case, what has been said, I would prefer the aforementioned Crystal Sword or if you are looking for a much heavier weapon (more for Strength + Intelligence Build) I would opt for the Carian Knight Sword (it is a Greatsword… Powa Swords! ) or that of a Troll Knight (another Swordsman for a change).
HOW TO GET IT
We will find the Crystal Knife in the Raya Lucaria Crystal Mine, an area that you will find a little to the Northeast of the Rennala Academy (it is accessed from the lower area, the flooded area we go); specifically to the right of that collapsed bridge north of the Academy.
Once you are inside the mine, you will simply have to go forward and down several levels of it. The mine must be said to be quite huge and it will take you a while to get to the weapon; I said, you see advancing and descending. This area is full of that kind of zombies that have skin like stone or something like that; those that take little damage from slashing attacks and are better hit with blunt attacks (for example hitting with heavy weapons like the Grafted Blade Greatsword or War Hammer ). By the way, you have plenty of minerals in the area , so take advantage.
You will be near the weapon when you reach an area where there are these kind of caged zombie-like critters that have like many arms and do spinning attacks (as soon as you see them you will recognize them easily, they are quite peculiar). In that area you will end up finding a room with two of those bugs guarding a chest in which the Crystal Knife is located, so you know, finish with them and acquire the weapon.
A little further on in this mine we will have to face Cristaliano , a really simple boss (especially if you know his trick), but we leave you his guide here in case you need it (I’ll do it shortly).
