RUFUS THE TASKMASTER GUIDE IN V RISING

RUFUS THE TASKMASTER GUIDE IN V RISING

Rufus the Foreman is the third boss of V Rising and he is a human armed with a piece of crossbow that of course he will use to annihilate us between trying to get away from us since this one has everything to lose in melee.

It is by far the most difficult boss that you have done so far (which should be the Alpha Wolf and Errol) and personally I have noticed a bit of a jump in difficulty from the previous one. I still don’t think it’s complicated, but it is true that you will have to play well to defeat him and a mistake will play a lot against you.

HOW TO DEFEAT RUFUS THE TASKMASTER

Let’s start as always with some tips for preparing for the battle and continue below with his attacks.

BATTLE PREPARATION

Little preparation on this occasion, because if you at least follow the guides in this blog (the previous one would be Errol ‘s ), you will already have the Copper Spear and the Reinforced Bone armor, with that you will go very well. What I do recommend is that between when you go there and through the camp where you will find Rufus (without actually attracting him) you go sucking the blood of the humans you see in order to have some buff, which will come in handy for the battle, and By the way, you clean the area a bit so that later in the battle no one bothers you (they will bother you just the same from what you will see below, but at least you get rid of some heavy ones that can join the battle).

Oh yes, enter the area where the boss is (Bandit Forest Camp) through the bridge to the east, which is where Rufus is closest to hand; also, if you enter from the other side you can run into a guy named Tristán who is very powerful and can annihilate you.

ATTACK GUIDE

Rufus the Foreman will use a crossbow to shoot us, so he will constantly try to get away from us and the idea is that you chase him because in melee he has the losing side (also he aims quite badly if you are close and he will tend to run away from you more what else when this happens).

The first thing you have to understand and I consider this to be very important is that your arrows (or bolts, I think that’s what crossbow arrows are called, but anyway, it’s all the same) slow down … and if this happens, then it will be quite easy for you to eat the next arrow and well, you can imagine how it can end, so avoid eating an arrow at all costs.

Let’s see his attacks in detail::

  • Arrowshot : A long-range arrow shot with the slowing effect that we have already discussed and that you should avoid at all costs. The slowed effect will last for a few seconds, long enough for him to fire another arrow at you. If you eat an arrow you will have to roll «Blood Ritual» (the parry) or to avoid the next arrow (and the slow) and heal yourself a bit; or… you also have «Blood Veil» (the dash) to be able to dodge it and if after this you hit it to heal yourself a little then perfect (Blood Ritual is better that you save it for the next attack).
  • Throw Net : A red circle will appear on the ground and soon a net will fall that if it catches you will leave you immobile, which will make it very easy to hit you with an arrow. Simply jump out of the area and dash if necessary; if you eat the attack, wait until the arrow is going to shoot at you and roll «Blood Ritual» to avoid the damage and heal yourself (and damage the ads and push them along the way if you have them nearby, which we will now talk about them below) .
  • Machine Gun Mode : Rufus will snort and have a red aura, at which point he will start shooting super fast. You will have to run all the time to avoid them, here forget about attacking. As usual, if he hits you with an arrow (much more likely in this mode) dash or parry to avoid the next ones because it will be very easy for him to continue shooting you with arrows if you are slowed down.
  • Call the Compis : He will summon a couple of humans to help him, the idea is that you kill them quickly so they don’t bother you (he will do it several times and you don’t want them to accumulate). However, the worst thing is that when he enters Machine Gun Mode he will also snort for a while at his companions, becoming more powerful and much more resistant. When they’re red, don’t attack them, just avoid them and when they lose their red aura, kill them; And what has already been said, remember that you have the dash and the parry for what may happen.

REWARDS FOR DEFEATING HIM

By defeating Rufus the Taskmaster you will get the following:

  • Blood Fury : A very interesting skill since we will apply a shield for 4.5 seconds that will protect us from damage; this shield relies on magic and will also apply to your teammates online.
  • Carpenter’s Table : Structure to create objects using wood.
  • Hunter’s Crossbow : A recipe to create a level 9 equipment crossbow.
  • Fishing Rod : Obviously, to fish.
  • Carved Wood : Carpentry material.
  • Picture Frame : Other carpentry material.
