The Ranger is a class in Rogue Legacy 2 that is specialized in ranged damage since we will go with a bow as standard that is really very interesting and that I will explain a little better below the things it gives us.
At the moment, despite being one of the first classes that we can unlock in the game, it seems to me the best ranged style class (not counting the magicians , which is another thing, more than ranged weapons I mean) since it can shoot at a good distance, we can aim comfortably and hit some arrows that cause very good damage.
It has the problem that most ranged classes usually have, and that is that in a situation where we cannot correctly evade melee enemies, we will have a huge disadvantage there; but when this is not the case, it becomes a very comfortable class to play.
HOW TO GET THE RANGER IN ROGUE LEGACY 2
We can unlock the Ranger through the improvements of the “talent tree” of the Stronghold. It doesn’t have much of a mystery because it really is one of the first things we can unlock in Rogue Legacy 2. We have it on the central column around the front door, the improvement in question is called ” Blast Furnace “.
? STATISTICS
- half life
- good mana.
- +10% Strength and +10% Dexterity.
Looking at the statistics we have an average life, which is not bad in that sense because I thought it would be low; and a good mana, which of course is fine. However, what stands out the most is the following effect.
And it is that a bonus of +10% of Strength and Dexterity is very good and much appreciated. Let’s remember that Strength will cause us to cause more damage with the weapon and that Dexterity will increase the damage caused by critical hits with the weapon, so both will be great, especially for those more skilled archers for what we will see now regarding their default weapon.
WEAPON: WAR BOW
A weapon that frankly is very good in my opinion since it will allow us to attack from a safe distance and although we do not shoot as fast as the Gunslinger does , it is also true that our arrows cause great damage (instead of attacking quickly hitting little, we will hit slower but powerful blows). Suffice it to say that we can aim with it and that we will have a kind of line to be able to see the path of the arrow, something that helps a lot to aim.
But that’s not all, because when you hold down the button on the weapon, you will see that when you wait a bit, it will light up for a short period of time; if you just shoot there, you will always give a critical hit , so if you know how to take advantage of this and get the point right, you will take advantage of that Dexterity bonus and hit some tremendous arrows. It is also true that in a real combat situation you will not normally have as much time or as much peace of mind to get this right, because the truth is that although it is not a Herculean task, it does have its difficulties since you will have to be very precise (what good thing is that even if you don’t get to give the critical, you still do very good serial damage).
A little trick that this weapon has is that when shooting arrows in the air we have a recoil in the opposite direction to which we shoot, so we can jump and shoot down to stay in the air for a long time; it’s a pretty interesting way to finish off some enemies while keeping yourself in the air safely.
TALENT: IVY CANOPY
Quite an interesting talent since we will create an ivy area that will protect us from medium projectiles (which is always appreciated and of course even more so being an archer), if we do it in the air it will also stay there so we can create an improvised high area to shoot, that’s always cool.
In addition, being there we will poison when hitting with our arrows , which is an added effect that is very worthwhile to deal more damage with these.
MASTERY: STRENGTH
As a Mastery we also have an additional Strength bonus , which in the end will cause us to cause more damage with the weapon that is our main source of damage and therefore is very worthwhile. Let’s remember that we already had a bonus simply for being this class of 10% of Strength (and also of Dexterity) and that with this Mastery as we level up we can have even more of a Strength bonus, brutal in that sense.
