After a few hours of playing V Rising you will notice that to create better equipment and other useful items you will need Leather and at least in my case it took me a while to discover how this material is supposed to be obtained optimally and why Today I bring you this post explaining it in detail.
We will talk both about the way that I consider to be the most optimal (through the Tannery) and also the less effective alternative in case you are a bit urgent, but come on, it is not very complicated to get the Tannery either, so I better recommend you go that way.
ANIMAL SKIN IN V RISING
Animal Skin is the first thing we are going to need and you probably don’t need me to tell you how to get it because it is one of the easiest resources to obtain right from the start of your game, but since we want to address the subject in depth, we will mention it anyway. ; If you want, skip this part.
Basically we will obtain it by defeating animals (the wolves, bears that we find on the map… you know) and collecting their loot, animals are everywhere in V Rising, so it should not be a problem for you.
HOW TO GET THE TANNERY
Now if we go with the chicha of the subject. The Tannery is a structure that we can add to our castle that will allow us to create Leather in the same way that happens with the Forge and Copper (its ingots) to mention an example. We simply add the Animal Skin inside and it will transform into Leather; specifically 1 unit of Leather for every 16 of Animal Skin.
The case, to achieve it you will have to defeat Keely the Archer , one of the first bosses of V Rising and it is certainly a very simple boss, although my recommendation is to do all the previous ones before and be well prepared. I’m not going to go into much more about it since you have Keely the Archer ‘s guide on the blog.
Building it will require 8 Planks and 160 units of Animal Skin.
OTHER WAYS TO GET LEATHER
In my opinion, it is not the most optimal way, because the best is what we have already mentioned about Tanning and Animal Skin. But it is a fact that we can obtain Leather directly if we go to certain places on the map.
One of those places is the Bandit Rag Camp , a place where by defeating enemies, boxes and in general, cleaning the area, you can find Leather as well as other materials such as Animal Skin itself, Coarse Thread and Paper.
You can find this camp right here, I mark it with the red x:
As you can see, you have it to the East of the Farbane Forest, it is just the area where you fight against Keely the Archer.
WHAT IS LEATHER USED FOR?
Leather is a material that we will use for the following crafts, among others, but we will mention the main ones:
- Leather Armors: Armors superior to those of Reinforced Bone (equipment level 3). These would be the pieces and in all cases they will ask us for 6 Leather and 4 Coarse Thread:
- Nightstalker Vest.
- Nightstalker Pants.
- Nightstalker Gloves.
- Nightstalker Boots.
- Improved Leather Armor : The improvement of the previous set of level 4 of equipment and that the previous pieces will ask us and 4x Leather, 4x Rough Thread and 8x Copper.
- Traveler’s Shawl : Probably the first cloak you get in the game, it gives us health and sun resistance .
- Empty Canteen : To fill it with liquids.
