During your exploration of the Nation of Wisdom, you have encountered many small forest spirits. Help some of them purify Varunastra in this series of quests called “Varuna Gatha”!
Varuna Gatha
Start by teleporting to the Statue of the Seven in the Kingdom of Ashavan, then head southwest. You will then find an aranara attacked by mushrooms. Eliminate the enemies, then talk to him. He gives you his name, Arapandu, and tells you that he has an important mission for the festival, but also for “nara Varuna”.
He tells you a bit about this “nara Varuna”, blond and courageous like you, who came to help them eliminate the black rain that fell on their territory a very long time ago. Then follow Arapandu for him to explain the situation to you a bit. If you don’t have the teleport point at the top of the tree, near the objective, you can use the plants that regenerate your stamina when you climb the trunk!
You then observe a very nice kinematics of the varuna tool. For the festival, it must be healed again! Unfortunately, the aranaras weren’t able to do it on their own because of too many fungi in the area, and our Arapandu’s ararakalari is not strong enough to resist them…
During the conversation, you also learn that there are Ruin Guardians in the area… Remember to aim for their weak points! Then, your new friend tells you to go eliminate spores and Fungus in the two nearby trees. Don’t hesitate to use the leafy pistil (on the right in the image) to make Dendro clovers appear which will help you navigate at this height! As a reminder, they cause clovers to appear when they come into contact with the Dendro element .
Once the enemies are eliminated, you go to the rest point to… rest, of course! You also get a closer look at the varuna tool, and Arapandu teaches you to fix the tool’s broken branches and leaves in order to heal it. It therefore takes you to the nearest location to find out in more detail what to do.
Thanks to the Dendro clovers, follow the path which is a little higher to enter a cave where there is a “branch”. They are in fact “leaves-stones” and “branches-stones” which were created by Aramuhukunda and the Molrani Rukkhadevata. Their purpose is to channel the vana energy to the varuna tool.
Arapandu explains to you that you have to place the leaf-stones in such a way that they point towards the branch-stone in the middle, as in the images below.
Of course, it’s not over! Did you really think there was only one? Of course not, see! So you need to go to the following places:
- the Yasna Monument, to find Aranakula there. It is a monument erected for Nara Varuna, but spores have invaded the place;
- the Ruins of Dahri, to meet Arabalika. Arapandu worries a lot, despite his many boasts about his strength;
- the Grove of Dreams, to see Arakunti. You may have to play some music for him to show up, so get out your old lyre!
Once the 3 sites have been visited, you will return to the resting site to find Arapandu, who is staying there to monitor the surroundings!
Healing of branches and leaves
For clarity, we decide to keep the order in which Arapandu gives us the location of the other branches to heal. The order of the quests is therefore as follows: ” The memory of the stone “, then ” Angry iron ” and finally ” Sleepy roots “.
The memory of the stone
So start by teleporting to the Statue of the Seven in the Kingdom of Ashavan, then head west to find Aranakula, who is hiding so as not to be spotted. You still manage to find him behind the trunk (image on the left), then you tell him that you come from Arapandu.
Now confident, Aranakula tells you that before healing the varuna tool, he wants to retrieve the memory of the stone. So you help him get the object of his desires. Advance gradually towards each objective so as not to be spotted by enemies.
Once you have reached the memory of the stone, you clean it to restore its image a little! This stone monument is actually a memorial for nara Varuna, so that she sees that the vana remembers everything.
After this little moment of emotion, it’s time to go fulfill your objective: to heal the branches and leaves of the varuna tool! For this, go back down from the cliff to see the entrance to a small cave that descends into the depths. Go into the water, then follow the fairy out of the cave to find the 3 leaves around. Place them as in the images below to be able to activate the branch.
You then decide to accompany Aranakula back to the resting place, to complete the quest!
angry iron
You are now heading towards the ruins of Dahri to help Arabalika. Despite his great strength sold by his friends, he might need your help to complete his mission. You find him on the way to the ruins, in the middle of a fight with a Guardian of the Ruins!
After a little discussion, the rather elusive Arabalika decides to check out what you’re capable of in battle. He then chooses a few hand-picked Ruin Guardians for you, and while you fight these “pieces of iron”, he watches you carefully, while doing a few dance steps.
Once your combat skills have been demonstrated, Arabalika tells you to lower the water level. To do this, use the mechanism not far from there, then go down all the way to find the entrance to a small cave. Continue in this direction to find the branch you were looking for!
As usual, you place the leaves so that their tip faces the branch. But once the last leaf is placed, two colossi of the ruins are activated! Eliminate them to calm down, talk to Arabalika to activate the branch, and this will end the quest!
sleeping roots
To finish, you go south of the resting point to find the last aranara. It is in a somewhat hidden cave. Just before reaching your goal, jump into a hole that will take you to Arakunti. Once at the entrance, you see him fleeing immediately! You then think back to the fact that you have to play music for him to show up. Take out your lyre and play the local music!
After meeting Arakunti, you climb up the big tree to find the branch you are looking for. He then tells you about the world of dreams, and the leaves that are there. You must therefore replay your ancient lyre in front of the nearby rock to access the world of dreams!
Then place the sheets in the right direction as shown in the images below. Watch out for mechanical monsters that can give you some trouble here and there.
With the leaves now in place, exit the dream world to see Arakunti, who must activate the branch. Once this is done, you return with him to the resting place, to find Arapandu!
For the rain under the fertile ground
Now that the branches are activated, you have to go deep, to heal the varuna tool at the root. With the help of the aranaras, the passage in Varunastra opens, and you sink into the cave. Dust the place where the spores have accumulated to discover a large Fungus! Get ready for a fast-paced fight, where your opponent runs away when they get in trouble, while summoning smaller Fungus.
Once the great Fungus is eliminated, you will see the aranaras healing the varuna tool in a nice cinematic!
You learn on this occasion a new music: the Melody of spring water! This makes it possible to modify the weather conditions in the Apam Wood area. You also get a new achievement: ” Into the Earth, the Rain Seeps ” while completing this questline!
Have you tried changing the area’s weather? You earn another achievement: ” Mister Weather “!
