You’ll notice that it’s been a relatively long time (at least given the regularity of Souldiers posts that I’ve been uploading lately) that I don’t do any more Souldiers guides, but you’ll see, this is because I got stuck on a boss called Dark Claw that is from the Today I bring you the guide.
The boss is a horror in terms of difficulty, I’ll tell you that already; and if you have been following the previous guides, you will have noticed that I ended up lowering the difficulty to normal mode (more for the levels than for the bosses), so imagine the matter.
However I think this may be partly due to the fact that I’m playing the Scout class, so my ranged damage is pretty low and the way this boss is designed I’m pretty sure that’s a huge disadvantage. And it is that it is a true monster in the melee this boss and my goodness, I do not roll anymore, we go with the guide.
LOCATION OF DARK CLAW IN SOULDIERS: FLOATING MODULE
We will meet this boss in the Floating Module , which is that kind of alien spaceship that we can access when we get the Electric Orb (when you leave the pyramid you will have to advance in the story and you will end up here).
The case, that once you are in the Floating Module, you will have to advance until activating 2 of the 4 generators that are in the area (in the process you will get the aerial dash, which is called «Vinama Mechanism») and after This will direct you to this location via the teleporter.
Right where my character marks is where the boss is.
DARK CLAW AND MECH ATTACK GUIDE
We will separate the combat into 4 phases, but first comment on a few things:
- Dark Claw will spend all the time chasing us as if there is no tomorrow to attack us, it is very annoying.
- This boss has no weakness to anything you have right now, it’s horrible. I attacked him with Sand to deal neutral damage, I seem to remember that fire was also used to deal neutral damage; It is resistant to physical damage, keep that in mind.
- Being resistant to physical damage means that most powerful weapons like the Dark Spear and Dark Ax (weapons, not bosses, but I link you to bosses) deal less damage than usual. In my case, I noticed that the Dark Spear was the most profitable for this boss even in these conditions, but the damage reduction is noticeable (for the record, I have the Dark Spear fully upgraded, level 3).
- If it becomes very difficult for you, I recommend that you return to previous areas , there will be several things that you can unlock with the new skills you have, so you raise some levels and improve your character a little, which in this battle will be very noticeable. I did it, even so it was still hard for me to defeat him, but at least it showed. In that sense, I highly recommend that you collect 15 Radiant Bygul and deliver them to Hafin’s librarian so that your potions heal more, which will kill you. In the same way , improve your equipment as much as you can.
- Make sure you’re well stocked with potions and with all the weapon loadouts you can take with you (you know, the little red balls we can launch the Dark Spear with, Bombs and such). I also recommend you to take the potion that assures us the critical hit for a few seconds.
PHASE 1 AND BOSS BASES
Let’s see his attacks then:
- Garrazo : A claw blow or sometimes a two or three hit combo, this is a bit random. As I have already mentioned, he will spend the entire combat chasing you to hit you with this attack. In addition to this, he can dodge your blows. What worked for me was to get close to him (he will get close too), hit him when you’re relatively close and dash forward to avoid the hits coming at you. Sometimes he will feint to dodge you (which in that case you move away) and if for whatever reason you get his back good at some point (if for example he is launching the Garrazo combo) take the opportunity to hit him a little to move back quickly (don’t you play it if you have the dash on CD because it’s easy to get caught then).
- Change of Platform : On the battlefield there will be 3 main platforms (one on top of the other) that we must use with our heads, especially when we want to heal ourselves (which will still cost a lot to do without receiving damage precisely from the attack that I mentioned). And it is that Dark Claw when he changes platform to go to the one you are in, he will do it by performing a very dangerous attack with his claws with which you must be very careful not to be close to him.
- Hemorrhage : More than an attack, it would be a property of them, but I’ll explain it here. His attacks have a chance to apply bleeding and if he jumps at you at some point (which he will) you’re going to suffer a lot because your life will go down little by little (it’s just as outrageous) while the guy doesn’t keep chasing you. This also adds an RNG factor, if you are unlucky and get a lot of bleeds… you are lost.
In that sense, we recommend that in this battle you equip something that gives you resistance to Bleeding; In my case, I had an Accessory called « Bestial Ring ++ » that gives me +18% Defense to Hemorrhage (it was very noticeable when I equipped it, but even so, the altered state applied to me occasionally). In your case I don’t know if you will have it, but maybe if you have the Bestial Ring + or even some other Accessory with this effect.
By the way, this accessory also gives us Attack, Resistance and others, like most and also allows us to apply Bleeding, but I’m telling you that this boss is immune because of the 800 times I fought against him (exaggeration of the facts, but there were many attempts) I didn’t even hit him with a Hemorrhage. The case, that the resistance to said altered state is worth gold here.
Finally, let’s continue:
- The Robotin: The robot will be throwing some rays at us from time to time that again add an RNG factor since they can apply the altered state of paralysis to you (that causes your character to be paralyzed for a second maybe from time to time) and if that happens you it will be very annoying. The good thing is that we can hit Robotin to stop bothering him for a while, you’ll have to hit him so he doesn’t bother while you’re dealing with Dark Claw. There are times when even being “dizzy” (when you hit him), you can keep hitting him to renew the “dizzy”, but there are others that for some reason he will be immune to the renewal and you will have to wait for it to activate to quickly go to hit him again (it’s priority 1 to knock this bot out,
PHASE 2
Phase we enter when we lower Dark Claw’s life by 25%:
- Robotín Shield : You will see how from time to time Robotín puts on a red shield that will immunize him from all damage, so you will have to dodge his projectiles while dealing with Dark Claw (at which point you must be more careful than ever, do not freak out a lot attacking). Luckily this won’t be permanent, as soon as he loses his shield you know, stun him like there’s no tomorrow.
- Robotín Laser : As if Robotín wasn’t annoying enough, from time to time he will launch a laser beam that will slowly move across the screen. Dodging it itself is easy, the problem is that it is made on purpose to take away a lot of mobility while Dark Claw continues in his role of annihilating you; you will have to deal with it and with the loss of mobility and space that this laser beam will entail. Advice: The priority is not to receive damage, attack only if you see it very clearly, but given the movement of the laser you will inevitably have to focus on just dodging at some point if you don’t want to go too crazy (and crazy this boss doesn’t fall, I’m telling you).
PHASE 3
It will start when Dark Claw has 50% health:
- Claws at a Distance : Dark Claw will perform a 3-claw combo that will launch as claws at a distance that we will have to dodge by jumping or changing platforms quickly. It is not very complicated to dodge, but as you eat it deletea that is a pleasure. If he throws it in your face if it can be quite problematic to dodge it, then it will depend on your reflexes.
PHASE 4
When Black Claw’s health is at 25%, you’re almost there!
- Ultimate Claw : A charging attack giving claws that will leave behind a kind of explosive pillars. Very powerful attack that you will have to dodge by changing platforms or jumping very high and staying in the air as long as you can with the aerial dash or others. If it catches you with the blow in which it is launched and then the pillars hit you, you will probably die. It is not that complicated to dodge, but at this stage you will surely be very low on resources.
Ideally, you should save your weapons for this phase so that it goes down faster (note that the sucker often dodges them, do it when it is exposed, such as when going from one platform to another or when making an attack or immediately after one) that many things are already joining us and it is very easy to die in it.
For the rest… you know, patience friend, this one has a lot of fabric.
REWARDS FOR DEFEATING HIM
This is what we will get by defeating Babylon:
- Cyclone : Scout Ability (other classes will be given other things) A jump attack while flipping and hitting with the weapon.
- The satisfaction of having defeated him, god.
