RATATOSK GUIDE IN SOULDIERS

RATATOSK GUIDE IN SOULDIERS

We continue with more bosses of Souldiers , today I bring you the final boss of the Fire Temple (called Ratatosk ), which is a kind of… let’s say “strange beast of fire” that of course and as usual, will cost his own to defeat .

It still doesn’t seem like the most difficult boss to me, that podium is still kept by Dark Claw (although I did it before they revised the difficulty , everything is said); but it is true that this one impresses a bit at first… but you’ll see how when you get the hang of it, it won’t be so bad in the end.

And nothing, as always I leave you here your complete guide; I don’t mess around anymore, let’s go there!

LOCATION OF RATATOSK

As I mentioned at the beginning, it is the final boss of the Fire Temple. First we will have to defeat Dark Blade , which will give us a key that we will have to use in an area near the checkpoint that we use to go to his battle.

There we will find a room with many torches and a kind of huge bull . The idea is to light some torches and not others according to a specific pattern; the trick is to go to the room below as there is a drawing on the wall with some kind of stars. Some of these are sort of “on” and some are “off” (like black and such) and are “coincidentally” placed in the same position as the torches in the room above. Yes, you’ve already got it, you light the torches that correspond to the lit stars, and those of stars in black that are off (you can light them with the fiery orb and turn them off with the water orb, you know).

After this it is to go forward and forward until you reach Ratatosk, I leave you a photo with the exact location.

RATATOSK ATTACK GUIDE

As usual in Souldiers boss posts lately, we are going to split the encounter into 2 phases. First of all tell you that you should use the Aquatic Orb for this fight since to no one’s surprise, Ratatosk is weak to water . In the same way, if you are having a hard time defeating him, it would be a good idea to equip an accessory that makes enemies weak to Water receive more damage from this element.

For the rest, as usual, you see loaded with potions. In the face of splinters, it doesn’t matter a bit because there is none (that I know of) that pays much against him.

PHASE 1

Let’s look at the attacks you’ll start with:

  • Front Punch: A single forward punch when in melee with you, no more. He usually does a punch and then another, keep that in mind.
  • Hit from Behind : A hit that catches you off guard many times since it will do it if we are close to it, but the thing is that it will hit backwards (and it knows when to hit it); be very attentive as it doesn’t matter that you are behind him for this attack.
  • Somersault Charge (yellow) : The turn yellow aura will be put on it and the charge will be launched moving forward. You can either jump over him or dash to get behind him before he launches.
  • Fire Protection : From time to time a kind of fire protection will be put on that will make it receive less damage, it is better that you directly avoid it while the effect lasts; As soon as he loses it, you return to the fray, if he is very eggy you can give him a passing blow, but hey, what I said.

It worked very well for me to get melee with him to hit him and block and dodge when he attacks us (he can catch the timing). You will have to be careful with the yellow attack and of course leave this strategy aside when you are with the “Fire Protection”. If you’re running out of stamina back up and rest a bit.

PHASE 2: THE PILLARS OF FIRE

Phase he will enter when his health drops below 50%. He will keep his previous attacks and acquire the following:

  • Fireballs : He will launch a pair of fireballs forward that you will have to dodge with a jump and after this they will return to him as if rotating each other. It’s not really that complicated.
  • The Pillars of Fire : A very annoying attack since we will not be able to attack almost anything for a long time. Some pillars will rise in the area that we will have to use to move around and there will be a couple of fireballs chasing us around the screen (you will have to avoid them, it is not very complicated in reality); this while Ratatosk hides under the ground. It will only come out for a little bit from time to time, which is when you can hit it, but not for long because if you go too far you will get hit by the fireballs.

The Pillars of Fire attack lasts a long time, but it’s not infinite, if you don’t kill him while it’s happening, everything will return to normal and I imagine he can use this attack again.

REWARDS FOR DEFEATING HIM

This is what it will give us when we defeat him:

  • Petrocubo : The «key» that allows us to go to the next area to face «the guardian», I think we are already going to the end.
