Hikari is the character that I chose as the main character in Octopath Traveler 2 since it is highly recommended to start with a good warrior in the team and the truth is that she is a character that I highly recommend because she is very good.
He is specialized in physical damage and also in being a character that has a lot of stamina, he is the best in that sense, both as a Tank and as a Physical DPS , although it is true that Ochette also has a lot of potential in these aspects. But in my opinion, Hikari is the best at this and I consider him a character that should not be missing from your main team of characters in the game.
In this post I will show you his best Skills for his Main Warrior Job and we will also see his best Statistics and of course the Secondary Jobs that I recommend the most for it. Let’s go there!
WARRIOR JOB SKILLS
Let’s start by looking at the Active Skills of the Warrior, I will also tell you which ones you should use more.
- Aggressive Slash : We will hit 3 times with the Sword at random enemies. Very key especially when there is only one enemy left, especially if he is weak to Swords, so that he eats all the blows and lowers his shield a lot and causes him a lot of damage.
- Critical Spear : Powerful Spear single hit with good damage and a 25% increased chance to crit, so it will be quite likely to jump given that you most likely have Hikari with some crit in her Stats (or should at least , below we talk more about Statistics). Especially suitable for enemies that are stunned and weak to this type of weapon, with 3 Impulse it will be a tremendous blow.
- Stamina : Increases our Physical Attack for 3 turns. I don’t usually use it because it’s better that the buffs are given to us by a Dancer like Agnea so that Hikari can maintain his offensive.
- Heartless Slash : We will deliver a very powerful blow with the Sword and in the process we will lose all our buffs (which is why I generally prefer not to use it), the more buff you lose, the greater the blow will be.
- Iron Wall : We will increase Hikari’s Physical Defense for 3 turns; again I don’t usually use it because it’s better for a Support like a Cleric to do it, but if necessary he can apply it himself. It is important especially if we are applying a tanking strategy.
- Incite : A must have since it is the most important skill when we want to tank. Hikari will receive all single attacks for 3 turns.
- Vengeful Blade : The perfect combo with Incite for tanking strategies. We will apply a mark that will allow us to counterattack the physical individual attacks that we receive with the sword; It’s great because we’ll always lower the enemy’s shield by one point per hit. Incite + Vengeful Blade is the ultimate premise when it comes to tanking him and is a very effective combo, so make sure you keep both buffs active.
- Brand’s Sword : Divine ability, so you can only use it with 3 Impulse. It’s a tremendous single Sword hit, great as always for dazed and weak to sword foes. In my opinion, it is only surpassed in power by its “Celestial Slice” Potential attack as long as we use the 3 Impulse points, but when the Potential is not available we can use this attack if we want as its alternative.
SUPPORT SKILLS
These are the Warrior Job Support Skills:
- Fortifying Rupture : We will increase our Physical Attack by breaking the shield of an enemy. It’s quite good but over time we will have better abilities in the sense that they are 100% passive, which in the end are the best.
- Like an Oak : Increases the character’s Physical Attack by 50. Essential , just this type of passive skills I was referring to; any character that intends to deal physical damage should have it equipped.
- Energy Reserves : Increases the amount of Potential the character gains. It’s good, but what has already been said, there are better.
- Higher Power : Removes the cap of 9,999 maximum damage that the character can do. Another essential, especially when we have a good level to hit over 9,999, you will end up reaching those figures. Every character with high DPS potential such as Osvald should carry this ability, so even though it is tedious, it is highly recommended.
HIKARI’S POTENTIAL
By activating Hikari’s Potential we can perform one of these 3 abilities, they stand out for being quite powerful:
- Celestial Cut : A single blow with the Sword that causes tremendous damage and that will be the one we use in a battle context against a single enemy as in many bosses or having eliminated all additional secondary enemies in a battle.
- Flying Swallow : You will hit an enemy 2 times with the Sword and you will be able to do an action after this. The truth is that it seems to me the worst of all and I never use it.
- Twin Moons : We will hit all enemies so it is ideal when we face several enemies. First we will hit with the Spear and then with the Sword. Highly recommended in these types of situations.
As always, his thing would be that you take advantage of the Potential with maximum Impulse and ideally with some damage buff like “Lion Dance” and against stunned enemies in order to get as much damage as possible.
BEST STATS
I like to strike a balance between his offensive and defensive capabilities . Physical Attack and Defenses should be your priority (especially Physical Defense, but Elemental Defense is also great). Life is good to be able to tolerate hits better, but Defense ends up paying more since we will mitigate damage and also help our Healer to make it easier to heal.
BEST SIDE JOBS
Regarding Side Jobs, these are my recommendations in order from best to worst:
- Weapons Master : It will greatly increase our Physical Damage and most importantly, we will be able to use all the weapons in the game so that it is practically impossible not to be able to hit some enemy weakness. We will also have powerful Skills for each of them.
- Hunter : The best option among which we get the previous one will allow us to use Axes and Bows, thus also increasing our arsenal of weapons quite a bit. We will also have interesting offensive skills for this type of weapon and the statistics of both Jobs are very aligned.
- Thief : It will be great if we want to focus more on tanking, especially for the ability that allows us to damage and in the process steal life from the enemy. In addition to being able to count on the Daggers in our repertoire, of course.
- Apothecary : The one that I would least recommend of all, but it is still an option to be able to apply a band-aid or remove altered states if necessary and to be able to use the Ax and some other ability of this type of weapon.
