STRAY (GLACIAL OR WANDERING SKELETON) IN MINECRAFT

STRAY (GLACIAL OR WANDERING SKELETON) IN MINECRAFT

The Stray , also known as Glacial Skeleton or Wandering Skeleton, are an alternative version of the Minecraft Skeletons of all life but with a few differences that make them unique.

This is not something that only influences their appearance (their bones have a more bluish tone and they wear battered clothes), in fact; Strays are more dangerous than their close relatives, so you’ll need to be careful when they frequently get snowy patches at night.

And nothing! Next I will tell you everything you need to know about the Stray, let’s go there!

THE STRAY ONLY APPEAR IN SNOWY BIOMES

Snowy Tundra in Minecraft

And it is that the Stray are a kind of frozen Skeletons and therefore they only appear (naturally) in cold areas such as the Nevada Tundra .

The operation is as follows: In this type of cold Biomes, of all the Skeletons that are generated, 80% of them will be Strays and the rest will be common; so you will still run into common Skeletons, just to a lesser extent.

THE SLOW ARROWS

The greatest particularity of the Wandering or Glacial Skeletons is that their Arrows have the Slow effect (if they hit you you will be slowed down for 30 seconds, it also affects enemies), this simulates a kind of Ice effect.

This obviously gives them an advantage, since… what better for an archer like the Stray than to slow down your enemies? It will be quite frustrating if a few start shooting at you, as being slowed will make it harder for you to defeat them. Unless you go with a Bow, of course.

THEY ARE NOT IMMUNE TO SLOW

Since Strays produce the Slow effect to simulate that effect of Ice Arrows, one can assume that they will be immune to the Slow debuff; but nothing is further from reality, it affects them in the same way .

DOGS HATE STRAYS

And it is not surprising, since I imagine that for a Dog these enemies must be a juicy delicacy; which are just a bunch of walking Bones after all, so we can’t really blame them for that.

In fact, if you take your Dog with you and come across a Stray; these will quickly launch to attack them. So now you know, if you’re going to frequent a Cold Biome at night, it’s not a bad idea to take your partner with you to help you deal with these Wandering Skeletons.

WHAT’S THE MEANING OF YOUR NAME?

Stray literally translates as Lost , so we could theorize that they are common Skeletons that have simply been lost in cold areas and have had to adapt to the cold environment to survive; thus acquiring a more icy appearance and getting the Slow effect on his Arrows in a representation of his symbiosis with cold.

THE SPIDER JOCKEY OR SPIDER STRAY RIDERS

It is not very likely to happen, but there is a small chance that when a Stray is generated it will appear riding on a Spider , which is a quite powerful and dangerous combination since this will allow it to deal more damage (by the Spider) and on top of that it will allow you to move quickly; something that is not a good idea especially for his Slow Arrows.

In an even smaller probability it could happen that the Stray are mounted on a mini-spider, which are even faster and therefore would be an even more dangerous enemy.

THE WANDERING SKELETONS ON HALLOWEEN

Just like Skeletons, on Halloween Strays can spawn with Carved or Glowing Pumpkins equipped on their heads during the Halloween event; which is pretty cool right? They can even drop these items on us when we die, so now you know.

Anyway, just below I will tell you everything these Glacial Skeletons can drop us:

WHAT LOOT DO THE STRAY DROP?

These are the objects that can drop us:

  • Bones .
  • arrows.
  • Slow Arrow .
  • His Arch.
  • Carved or Luminous Pumpkin (Halloween event only).
  • 5 experience points and between 1 and 3 more depending on the equipment you are wearing.

As you can see, they are a good way to get Bones and Arrows; in fact he is the only enemy that can drop the Slow Arrows on us, so not bad.
