SOUL FIRE TORCHES AND LANTERNS IN MINECRAFT

SOUL FIRE TORCHES AND LANTERNS IN MINECRAFT

We continue with the news of Minecraft 1.16 (which at least today can only be seen in the latest Snapshot); and it is that the Netherita is not the only interesting thing that we have in this future update of the game.

I would certainly say that one of the things; although not more useful, but more striking; it is the Fire of Soul. This is a kind of new blue fire with somewhat different properties from those of the red fire of all life and with an appearance that gives it a slightly ghostly touch. That’s why it will be called Soul Fire, right?

But the reason why we are here today is not only to learn more about this new type of fire; but I will also tell you how to make your own Soul Fire Torches and Lanterns . Let’s go step by step!

HOW TO FIND SOUL SOIL IN MINECRAFT

Soul Arena in Minecraft

We can find it naturally in one of the new Nether Biomes: One called Soul Sand Valley at the moment , I imagine it will be called Soul Sand Valley or something like that.

The fact is that this Biome will be plagued by a new block that will act as the soil for it, called Soul Sand or Arena of Souls. This block is peculiar mainly because if you look at the block closely you will see that some disturbing faces appear in its design, I imagine souls locked in the sand (bad vibes).

However, this is not the block that interests you, but it is one that is always next to this one called: Soul Soil (which could be translated as Soil of Souls). It is similar to the previous one, but it does not have those disturbing faces.

Finding these blocks is extremely simple, you will simply have to find the aforementioned Biome; which is not exactly uncommon. In addition, it is easily distinguished from the others since you will find Blue Fire in it. The biome is full of Sand and Soul Soil, so you know, grab a few blocks.

HOW TO CREATE SOUL OR BLUE FIRE TORCHES

Now that you have the Soil of Souls with you, you will need the following materials to craft a Soulfire Torch ; The truth is that it is a very simple recipe.

  • Soil of Souls.
  • Coal.
  • Stick.

You probably already know the stick recipe, but I’ll leave it here just in case:

It works with any type of wood, so don’t worry, do it with whatever you have on hand.

And as for the recipe for the Soulfire Torch, it is as follows:

As with common Torches, you will get a total of 4 for each craft.

HOW TO CREATE SOUL FIRE LANTERNS

Now that we have some Soul Fire Torches (they are needed for the Lantern), we can now create our Blue Fire Lanterns . We will simply need the following materials:

  • Soul Fire Torch.
  • 8 Iron Nuggets.

To get the Iron Nuggets we have to do this crafting, we will only need an Iron Ingot, which is not an excessively difficult mineral to get (you probably already have it and if not… it will not cost you too much, remember that above you have a link to the mineral guide):

As you can see, you will get a total of 9 nuggets for each ingot, so you will not have any major problems creating your lanterns.

Now let’s see the recipe for Alma’s Fire Lantern:

SOUL FIRE PECULIARITIES

But… What is so special about Soul Fire? It’s worth it? Well… not really, although it does have its uses. In any case, I leave you a list of all the differences between this fire compared to the common one :

  • Alma Fire is Blue, which is actually much cooler. I think it could be fantastic to create a kind of haunted house; Maybe one day I create one and show it to you.
  • This fire illuminates considerably less compared to the fire of all life, which is something rather negative. The only positive point that I see in this is that with it we can create a more gloomy environment; We could even use it for rooms such as the bedroom to have a more dim light and suitable for rest (which in itself does not give us anything, but well… hahaha).
  • Soul Fire is cooler than regular fire, so you can use it with ice or snow blocks and they won’t melt. This makes it the ideal fire to create constructions in the snowy biomes, it will also look much better with the blue color… I will surely add it to my Polar Bear .
