by Partitio is a character from Octopath Traveler 2 who stands out for his brand new white hat and already getting more serious and going into game themes, battles and others… well, we are clearly facing one of the best Supports in the game despite the fact that Agnea has ended up convincing me more.
This is mainly due to the fact that they have the Merchant Job as the main one and although it is true that they have quite interesting things… in the end, what will interest us the most about them is one of their Skills in particular, which is extremely good since it gives us It will allow us to donate IP to our teammates, something invaluable in a game like this where these points are worth gold.
But that’s not all, Partitio also has one of the best Potentials (in my opinion, although I think we’ll all agree) in the game. But hey, let’s not get ahead of things and go with its analysis + build. Oh, and I haven’t said it but hey, the character is highly recommended (what I’m saying, they’re all really good).
MERCHANT JOB SKILLS
Let’s start by looking at the active Skills of the Merchant, I will also tell you which ones you should use more.
- Arrow of Fortune : Hit a single object with the bow that will give you PT, it is quite good for enemies weak to this type of weapon.
- Rest : A great ability to recover when things are tricky since with this we will recover PH, PS and we will also eliminate harmful states.
- Collect : You will steal money from an enemy. I never use it, but if you are short of money (to buy the boat for example) it may be fine.
- Artificer Fuse : A Fire spell that hits a single enemy, it’s not very useful since we usually won’t build Partitio to Elemental Attack, but it can be fine on a very occasional basis to reduce shields.
- Donate IP : The Merchant’s signature Skill and the one that makes him a tremendous job for support. We will provide an IP to a partner (if you use Impulse you will give more points), it is great to provide a lot of Impulse to our most damaging character as it is usually the case of Hikari , Ochette or Osvald .
- Dodge : It will guarantee us to dodge a Physical Attack that our character receives. If we use it well we can get rid of the odd death between the Healer healing us.
- Paid Help : You will pay money to summon mercenaries to the battlefield, I never use it because money is important in the game. Anyway and luckily, the Skill below can help us in that regard.
- Bifelgan Loot : It is his Divine Ability, so you will need 3 Impulse to perform it. It is a very powerful single elementless attack that will give you money based on the damage you deal. Undoubtedly one of the easiest ways to get money.
SUPPORT SKILLS
These are the Support Skills of the Merchant Job:
- Grows on Trees : By equipping it you will get more coins in combat.
- Starting Boost : At the start of the battle you will gain 1 additional IP. It comes in quite handy when we face common enemies to go faster, but when it comes to bosses I don’t recommend it too much since it will only be a slight boost at the beginning.
- Resist : The attacks that would kill you will leave you at 1 HP unless you were already very weak (when the character is half down). A good option in general that can prevent us from being scared, also ideal for Tank characters or Healers.
- Potential Burst : Full character’s Potential at the start of a battle. For a Merchant it is great in order to be able to Donate more IP to his team at the beginning. For others I wouldn’t recommend it so much, for common enemies it’s fine, but in bosses these kinds of abilities that benefit us only at the beginning don’t spread too much.
PARTITION TALENT
Partitio’s talent will allow us to hire a character to help us in battles or even get us better discounts when buying, personally I never use it for battles, but it is very good to hire a character to help us get better discounts.
PARTY POTENTIAL
The Partitio Potential is in my opinion the best of all Octopath Traveler 2 Potentials since when using it we will fill our IP to the maximum, which is great to take advantage of it with the Partitio itself or to donate a lot of IP to a partner to greatly increase his performance.
BEST STATS
Since we want him primarily for support, he wants you to mainly increase his Speed so that he can act before the characters you intend to support, who will usually be the most damaging.
For the rest, it will also be very useful for him to improve his defensive side a bit so that he can hold up better in battles; Focusing on offense on a Support character isn’t too worth it, so don’t do it.
BEST SIDE JOBS
Regarding Side Jobs, these are my recommendations in order from best to worst:
- Dancer : To be able to provide even more support to our colleagues.
- Inventor : This job allows us to have several interesting abilities, some of which give very good support to companions. Also, their skills don’t require AP, so you can save them for Merchant Skills.
- Thief : To be able to also apply a debuff to the enemies, thus having a good character in supporting the group and in the same way good in depleting the enemies.
- Cleric : It will allow us to provide defensive support and also perform some healing when necessary and the Main Healer is a bit saturated.
