Talking about the Claymore makes me a little nostalgic because Dark Souls was my first souls and the Claymore was a weapon that accompanied me for a large part of my first adventure in the game. It is a tradition that this weapon is in practically all souls except Bloodborne or Sekiro, which in the end are another roll, but you understand me.
Of course in Elden Ring we do have it available and it is again a very viable weapon. I can’t say it’s the best weapon in the game, but I do think it’s a very good weapon especially for starters for those going on Strength; you’ll end up with better ones like Guts’s Greatsword or Grafted Blade , but it’s also true that this Greatsword is a bit lighter; although personally I think that in Strength Builds you have the most damage possible even if you are a little slower. Clarify that by proxy, you can take it to the end if you want, because it’s still a very decent weapon even if it’s not the meta.
The case, we will see as always an analysis of the weapon and I will also tell you how you can get it.
CLAYMORE ATTRIBUTES IN ELDEN RING
These are his stats:
- Base Damage level 1: 138 physical.
- Weight: 9.0.
- Critical: 100.
- Protections:
- Physical: 50.
- magic 35
- Fire: 35.
- Lightning: 35.
- Holy: 35.
- Stability: 35.
- Attribute Scaling:
- Strength 😀
- Dexterity: d
- Necessary Attributes:
- Force 16.
- Skill 13.
It has a good base damage like all Greatswords, in fact this one is a little better than Oathsworn’s Greatsword ( which is a Force weapon that I also highly recommend for starters because you can also get it in a matter of minutes from the start) .
He has a decent scaling in Strength and Dexterity with D, so my recommendation is to put an Ash of War on him with a Heavy affinity to increase the scaling in Strength. Its weight is not very high, at least compared to Colossal Swords like the aforementioned Guts Greatsword; come on, it will be quite easy to deal with that weight.
Its requirements are also very low, so practically from the beginning you will be able to equip it without problems; Remember that it is essential to meet the requirements in order to be able to use the weapon well with one hand. And speaking of its moveset, it seems perfect to me and one of the best there is in this type of weapon.
Of course, if you like this type of weapon, you have the Greatsword , which in my opinion, despite being very similar, is somewhat better (it is also available in the same area, from a vendor). Why? Because it has a little more damage and a lot more range, this one you can get early too, so keep an eye on it if that. It is heavier, yes.
HOW TO GET IT
We will find the Claymore in Morne Castle , ignore the map frame because it is a recycled photo from another post. Basically you have to enter the Castle of Morne and you will find an area with a lot of bugs on a kind of mountain of rubble that has some areas on fire.
Finish off all the enemies, climb the rubble mountain and you will be able to access an area where you will see a door; behind it you will find the Claymore, there is not much mystery about it. Since we are talking about Broadswords and others, you should know that at the end of this area (now it is the mark indicated in the photo) you will find the Leonine Bastard , a not very complicated enemy that will drop the Grafted Blade Greatsword, which is one of the best in the Elden Ring without a doubt (only this greatsword requires 40 Strength to use well in one hand).
