by During the first chapter of the story of the Castti Apothecary in Octopath Traveler 2 we will have to find the origin of a disease that is ravaging the town of Canalsalobre and as an Apothecary that it is because its duty will be to eradicate said disease.
For this we will have to go to the Canalsalobre Spring and at the end of our tour there we will find the origin of the infection. Veron and Doron , a pair of monkeys with a horrifying appearance that have decided to drink from the spring and to purify the water we will have to eradicate these poisonous animals.
The battle will be quite easy (at least compared to Ritsu ‘s from the first Hikari warrior chapter) since Castti is very self-sufficient and powerful.
PREVIOUS TIPS
I recommend that before starting the battle you investigate all the available areas well to get better equipment for Castti and that you try to increase some levels. Something that will help you a lot will be to get the necessary PT to get the « Rehabilitate » skill, since this will allow us to cure the poison that these annoying monkeys will apply.
For the rest you will not need much more since Castti is quite powerful and can also self-heal and recover skill points by using his potions, we will talk more about this in the strategy to defeat these rotten monkeys.
VERON AND DORON WEAKNESSES
Here are the attack types you should use on each of the monkeys:
- Veron : Attack him with the Axe.
- Doron : He is weak to ice, so use the Icicle spell against him.
STRATEGY TO DEFEAT THEM
Ideally, you should focus on defeating Veron first , he has a lot of stun resistance, but luckily he is not too aggressive. Attack with the ax to lower his shield and when you have at least 3 boost attack him with the ax to hit him many times and cause a lot of damage.
Otherwise, use Healing Touch to heal yourself whenever needed (Castti lasts a long time anyway) and the Rehab ability when poisoned to avoid the annoying Poison damage over time. When using it, we will also be immune to this altered state for 2 turns. Reserve your PH for now, you will need them later.
As soon as you are about to finish off Veron, you will see how Doron eats him and in the process buffs his stats a lot. Luckily, Doron is relatively easier to control since with 2 ice hits you can already stun him. This is the time to spend all your AP using Icicle, when you have broken his guard his thing would be to throw an Icicle at him with the maximum boost you can to greatly increase the damage you do.
Don’t hesitate to use your Healing Remedies when necessary, either to heal yourself or to recover AP, something you will need during the battle. When you have the potential available, you can take the opportunity to use two Healing Remedies at once, ideal when you need a cure and also recover some PH.
