GUIDE TO ISIDORA VOICE OF THE DEAD IN BLASPHEMOUS

GUIDE TO ISIDORA VOICE OF THE DEAD IN BLASPHEMOUS

Isidora, Voice of the Dead is a boss introduced in the last DLC of Blasphemous : Wounds of Eventide and it must be said that as expected, it is a somewhat complicated boss; although it is also true that at this point (since we are already in the third DLC, we are already so sucked both by team and by game experience, that it shows that we are no longer intimidated so much by bosses like that).

As I have already mentioned, it is a somewhat complicated boss, especially because it has a lot of life (although it is also true that I have played it in NG+ ) since it has some quite annoying attacks (emphasis on the damn columns of fire and when it gets intense with the scythe). In this guide, as always, I will explain what you should do to make it fall easily, but I can already tell you that playing with objects that give us temporary immunity is going to be very key in this battle (and if you are a faithful devotee of the Debla de las You look like me, it’s going to come in handy; you can always join us if you don’t like it; praise Debla).

LOCATION AND UNLOCKING ISIDORA IN BLASPHEMOUS

To unlock this fight against Isidora, Voice of the Dead, you will first have to obtain “some” (I will tell you below) the Bones of the citizens that are scattered around Cvstodia (those that have lore texts and are delivered to the Albero) and deliver them to an NPC that you will find in the Albero Ossuary (the area where the Bones were delivered, come on).

Delivering the relevant amount will open a door to the right of the area. Behind her, Isidora, Voice of the Dead, is waiting for you to give you a good beating.

Note: I don’t know how many bones there are exactly yet, I only know that they aren’t all there because I opened it and I was missing 2.

HOW TO DEFEAT ISIDORA VOICE OF THE DEAD

The combat is quite complicated and is divided into 2 phases.

PHASE 1

In the first phase things start already quite strong. These are all his attacks, in each one I explain how you should “answer” him:

  • Multiple Charge : A rather annoying attack that is somewhat reminiscent of the charges that Crisanta made in her phase 2. She will start by performing an ultra-fast charge (which is very difficult to find the timing, but the attack will start when she moves a little backwards After this, you wait for him to move forward a little and roll parry) and then he will do 2 more. To parry well in the next two charges, you’ll have to do it as soon as it appears on the screen (they’re like teleport charges), and watch out, because when the third charge ends it will create a column of fire on the spot, so get out of there fast .
  • Helix Slams : A small charge followed by a scythe swing as it spins top-style. When she does this she gets very heavy and will continue charging with the scythe and spinning tops… stay very defensive, pull parry, get as far away from her as you can… you know.
  • Walls of Fire : Will summon multiple walls of fire. You will see how a kind of light appears in the areas where they will appear on the ground, move away from there and that’s it. Be careful because sometimes he will summon many of them and you will have to place yourself in the right place between 2 of these columns to avoid taking damage (sometimes you get some columns where you have to be very “pixel perfect” to avoid them, basically because you barely there is space between column and column, it drives me crazy, but you’ll see how you’ll end up getting the hang of it).
  • Fireballs : Isidora will launch 4 fireballs, not too big, that will chase you across the screen slowly for a fairly long period of time (in combat it takes a bit of time). The idea is to have them “under control” and that they never corner you, keep moving so that this does not happen. When she is summoning these fireballs, she will be exposed to our attacks the longest, so take the opportunity here to give her a good thrashing. Note that you cannot dash these balls, if you dash you will not go through them, instead you will eat them.
  • Fire Charge : This is surely one of the easiest attacks to dodge. Isidora will “melt” with the ground, after a short time she will launch herself towards you (from the ground, at full speed) and when he reaches you he will jump to give a good scythe blow and then some columns of fire will emerge. It sounds pretty awful, but just dash forward when it comes “crawling on the ground” and we’ll dodge the entire attack streak. Be careful though because there is a similar version of this attack where instead of “crawling on the ground” he will charge with the Scythe and here Dash forward won’t do you any good (dash back when he’s going to hit you and move away then, if he catches you on the side of the screen, parry, but you will surely eat the fire that comes later).

More or less when you leave her at 50% health, she will start a kind of “Mega Attack” in which she will launch several streaks of fire columns at us in a row. At the end of the attack streak, the light in the room will turn on and it will summon some walls that will “get closer to you”, it seems impossible to dodge because we will be cornered. But… it has a trick, right in the center of the screen no wall will appear, so stay there and give it a good Deblazo (the Debla de las Luces Prayer); or with whatever you want, but come on, I really like going with Debla de las Luces. It will take a long time to be vulnerable, so take advantage, you are very interested in phase 2 being as short as possible.

PHASE 2

From the outset, comment that Isidora, Voice of the Dead will light a torch from which those annoying Fireballs that I have already mentioned in phase 1 will permanently emanate. One will come out every so often, so you will be with these balls the entire battle bothering you while Isidora, of course, also continues to thank us for our visit (she’s been there for who knows how long and on top of that we’re going to pay her a visit, she receives us in these ways).

My advice is that in this phase 2 you annihilate it quickly because in this phase Isidora is very dangerous (she will do the same, but those balls are obnoxious) and she will send you back to Albero in no time. The best thing you can do is try to dodge him as much as you can and hit him with everything so that he falls fast (in my case, based on Debla de las Luces). The idea is that you have “something” that immunizes you from damage to be able to dodge his blows and damage him quickly (this is something that you can also apply to phase 1, but here it will be much more needed, don’t run out of resources):

  • Debla of the Lights : I pray . In addition to doing a lot of damage, it also immunizes you while you channel the spell from any damage. Together with Smoldering Heart of Incense (one of the Hearts of Mea Culpa ), it is very beastly. But it works better if you are in the Penitence of True Guilt (or failing that, if you are wearing the Reliquary of the Sorrowful Heart, which you get at the end of said penance).
  • I tempt your Thorny Hairs : I pray. It immunizes you from damage you take for a short period of time, so ideal.
  • Pelican Effigy : Rosario Bead . Immunizes you from damage while drinking from the Bile Flask. For me a must have.
  • Frozen Olive : Rosario Account. It doesn’t immunize you from anything, but this olive is god. Basically when you get a hit that should kill you, you’re down to one health instead; and if they hit you then, then yes, you die.

REWARDS FOR DEFEATING HIM

This is what we will get:

  • The Singer of the Dead Aspect . A gold and blue skin (a bit of a paladin style) that I really like a lot.
  • Dexterous Sectioned Gaze of the Traitor : Key item that we will need in order to obtain the New True Ending .
