GUIDE TO GORB IN HOLLOW KNIGHT

Gorb is a rather peculiar Hollow Knight Dream Warrior  basically because he seems to have a certain delay, something that is a bit strange considering that he is supposed to be a legendary warrior in Hallownest  who claimed to have all the knowledge in the world in his head.

His encounter is surely one of the simplest in the entire game, which does not mean that as the combat progresses it can give you some problems, especially if you do not keep calm. But it is true that compared to the other Dream Warriors … it leaves a bit to be desired.

Could it be true that he was so wise? The truth is that it seems that it is missing a screw, right? Maybe he is a ghost (in the liar sense) or maybe he was so smart and knew so many things that he completely lost his mind.

LOCATION OF GORB

You can fight Gorb in Howling Cliffs . In the image you have the exact location on the map , an image is better than a thousand words.

This area is located just west of Bocasucia, you will have to return to the area where your game begins and move to the left to discover an invisible wall. To get to Howling Cliffs you will need the Mantis Claws .

HOW TO DEFEAT GORB

Gorb will always do the same thing, launching several spikes in all directions while lifting around. Dodging them is not too complicated, but the bad thing is that as his life decreases he will launch more and more spike streaks.

He will start by casting a single streak of spikes, at 66% health he will cast two streaks of spikes and when he is at 33% and about to die he will cast a total of three streaks in a row. This is the time where the battle can be somewhat frustrating.

To be victorious the strategy will be as follows:

• As strange as it sounds, you must be aggressive and cautious at the same time . Try to constantly hit Gorb with your stinger, it can be a bit tricky since he flies and doesn’t stand still but focus a lot on offense. But yes, even focusing on the offensive, be very attentive to their spikes to dodge them efficiently. Let’s be on the parrot, but focus a lot on attacking him.
• The best thing is that you do not heal, since it can be complicated, especially when it already launches several streaks of spikes. But if you need it, you will have to take advantage of the gap between the last streak of spikes that he throws to heal you. Otherwise you will surely eat a spike while healing. Anyway, that being said, if you don’t have to heal, all the better… But at least try to get to the three-spike phase with decent health or you’ll probably die.
• As soon as he is throwing three spike streaks you will have to be more aggressive than ever, since he will have very little life left and healing will be very difficult. That said, be aggressive and cautious. At this point the combat can be problematic but think that you almost have it and it will be short.
• While you dodge you can try to hit him with the stinger if he doesn’t get you far away, this will damage him in the meantime.
• If you have the Howling Wraith or Abyss Screech Spells (unlikely, especially the latter) they can help you take down Gorb fast.

Following these tips will surely not give you many problems, but anyway I am going to recommend some Amulets below to make things easier.

RECOMMENDED CHARMS

These are the Amulets that I recommend for this fight.

• Mark of Pride : Since Gorb levitates and doesn’t stop moving, it’s very good to have a longer range of the stinger.
• Longstinger : Same as Mark of Pride but to a lesser extent and for fewer notches . Combining both gives a brutal reach.
• Fast Concentration : You will heal faster. Something that can help you a lot in a fight where healing is complicated.
• Oneiric Shield : It is obtained in Resting Lands and is one of the Amulets that I always use the most. Assists passive damage.

I would also recommend Delicate Force or the Unbreakable version, as it increases sting damage by 50% . However, Delicate Force is horrible due to the fact that you have to repair it by spending geos and as for Unbreakable Force, it is most likely that you will not have it until you are in the late game.
