Genshin Impact – Tighnari: Build, Weapons, Artifacts and Teams

Genshin Impact – Tighnari: Build, Weapons, Artifacts and Teams

Tighnari is the first representative of the Dendro element alongside Collei and the Traveler. He is also Sumeru’s first 5 playable character, making him a coveted teammate when Update 3.0 is released. But what about gameplay and team synergy?

Want to know what’s behind those fluffy ears and sarcastic personality? Does Tighnari have several strings to his bow (yes, I had to wedge a rotten pun) thanks to the emergence of the Dendro element?

Let yourself be guided through these few lines and you will know everything about the first 5★ character of Genshin Impact’s 3.0 era.

Tighnari’s Kit: Stats and Abilities

Nothing very surprising here since Tighnari, as a good Dendro character, gets an increase in his Dendro damage with each elevation.

Note that said: without awakening Crit Rate or Crit Damage, it is more difficult to balance its TC / DC ratio . It may therefore be difficult to equip. Indeed, it will be necessary to find a happy medium between these stats while not neglecting the elementary mastery , essential to boost the Dendro reactions. These reactions being numerous and their interactions a little complex, do not hesitate to read our guide on the Dendro element to see more clearly!

Abilities

 Normal Attack: Anti-Barrier Khanda

Normal attack: chains up to 4 consecutive shots.

Charged Attack  : Delivers a more accurate aimed shot that inflicts more DMG.

When aiming, the power of nature comes to concentrate on the tip of the arrow. The effects vary depending on the number of charges:

  • 1 charge: Fires an eco-arrow that inflicts Dendro DMG .
  • 2 Charges: Fires a floral arrow that inflicts Dendro DMG . On hit, she generates 4 flowered arrows that automatically chase enemies to deal Dendro DMG .

Dive Attack : Shoots a shower of arrows from the air and dives to the ground, dealing area damage on impact.

 Elemental Skill: Vijnana-phala Mine

Tighnari launches a vijnana hatcher forward, inflicting area Dendro DMG and creating a field of vijnana-khanda that creates mysterious illusions that taunt enemies and draw their attacks.

Additionally, Tighnari gains the Suffusion of Vijnana effect, which decreases the charge time of Floral Arrows by 2.4s. This effect wears off when the duration ends or if Tighnari has fired 3 flower arrows.

Tighnari’s gameplay is based on the complementarity of his elemental skill with his charged shots Indeed, if you shoot his 3 floral arrows after using his elemental skill, they will charge much faster.

Apart from the speed boost on charged attacks, the elemental skill is also useful for luring in enemies . You can thus stay away without fear of taking a hit, Tighnari being fragile like all archers.

His elemental rampage is not to be overlooked either since he deals honorable Dendro damage

In short, you will need to focus on increasing Tighnari’s normal attack and elemental unleash to maximize his damage . Next comes the elemental skill, which mainly only serves to provide the speed boost on charged attacks. It is therefore the least important ability to increase.

With his multiple arrows, Tighnari is a very good character to apply the Dendro element . His cooldowns are also quite short, allowing him to be played in a quickswap team . This is a team where we often switch from one character to another to chain the elementary reactions.

Passive Skills

Acute sight When Tighnari fires a Floral Arrow, his Elemental Mastery increases by 50 for 4 sec.
Scholarly Blade Each point of Elemental Mastery Tighnari has increases the DMG dealt by his Charged Attacks and Artificial Vine Arrow by 0.06%. These DMGs can be increased by a maximum of 60% this way.
encyclopedic knowledge Displays the location of Sumeru products on the minimap.

Tighnari’s passives all focus on elemental mastery , and that’s a good thing because it’s also the most important stat for triggering elemental reactions with the Dendro element .

To optimize the gain in elemental mastery obtained via these passives and therefore the damage of Tighnari, here is the ideal rotation to perform :

Elemental Skill > 3 Flower Arrows > Elemental Unleash

Constellations

C1 – Beginning determined at the root The CRIT rate of Tighnari’s charged attacks is increased by 15%.
C2 – Known origin in stem When an enemy is in the vijnana-khanda field created by Vijnana-phala Mine, Tighnari gains 20% bonus Dendro DMG. This effect lasts 6 sec if the duration of the vijnana-khanda field ends or if there are no more enemies inside.
C3 – Destiny read among the branches Artificial Vine Arrow skill level +3.
C4 – Withering glimpsed thanks to the leaves When Artificial Vine Arrow is used, the Elemental Mastery of all nearby team characters increases by 60 for 8 sec. If Artificial Vine Arrow triggers a Burn, Blossom, Stimulate, or Spread reaction, Elemental Mastery increases by an additional 60 and the duration of the effect is reset.
C5 – Understanding in the midst of flowers Vijnana-phala Mine skill level +3.
C6 – Karma judged by fruits Flower Arrows charge time decreases by 0.9s and 1 additional Flower Arrow is created when hitting an enemy, which can deal DMG equal to 150% of Tighnari’s ATK.

The second constellation of Tighnari is interesting since it gives him a 20% increase in his Dendro damage . However, it is not exceptional because the enemies must remain in the field of vijana-khanda to benefit from this effect. And we all know that in combat it’s a big mess, go hold a troop of Brutos or an Apostle of the abyss Hydro ?

The C4 is a very good constellation because it allows to boost the elemental mastery of the whole team, including Tighnari . This stat will be paramount on a team where the Dendro element is central to elemental reactions. It triggers with the activation of Tighnari’s elemental unleash, proof that this ability is not to be neglected.

Tighnari’s C6 is very powerful since it will make the floral arrows even faster , so much so that we will hardly perceive their charging time. It also creates additional flowered arrows, enough to make Tighnari a formidable Main DPS .

The constellations of Tighnari: easier to obtain?Normally, it is quite complicated to get constellations on a 5★ character. For Tighnari, it might be a bit different. Indeed, it will join the permanent banner from the 3.1 update. Thus, it will logically be easier to obtain his constellations since he can fall on 50/50.

How to build Tighnari?

The best weapons for Tighnari

BEST IN SLOT
ALTERNATIVES 5★
4★ ALTERNATIVES (F2P)
The path of the hunterFor once, Tighnari’s signature weapon is the best possible option for him.Grants a huge boost in Crit Rate, allowing you to reach almost 50% just with this weapon. In R1, his passive provides a 12% elemental attack bonus as well as a damage bonus on charged attacks equivalent to 160% of the character’s elemental mastery.
Last sighThe ideal weapon if you want to direct Tighnari as a support for your team.In R1, his passive brings a bonus of 100 pts of elemental mastery and 20% of ATK to the whole team.Very useful to overcome the problem of recharging energy mentioned below.Involves a change in rotation:
Elemental Skill > Elemental Unleash to apply buffs > 3 Flower Arrows. Not the best option if you want to increase Tighnari’s personal DPS.
Mock water
North Star
Two very good 5★ alternatives for Tighnari.Grant DGT Crit and TX Crit respectively, important stats to increase character damage. In R1, the Water Simulacrum passive increases character damage by 20% if enemies are nearby. At R1, the Polestar passive increases skill and elemental rampage damage by 12% and grants up to 48% ATK with Cinderstar stacks. The Arc of Amos, Wings of the Azure Vault, and Pulse of Thunder are also viable but less relevant.
Verdant Hunting BowGrants Crit Rate, a very useful stat for Tighnari who has neither TC Awakening nor DC Awakening. Its passive allows you to inflict a little more damage thanks to the generation of a cyclone that gathers enemies.Option only available to Battle Pass holders, not F2P-Friendly.
last stringA very good 4★ alternative for Tighnari because this bow offers elemental mastery, useful for increasing the damage of Dendro reactions. Will also increase the damage of Tighnari’s elemental rampage, that height by 24% in R1.
Peaceful Moon (prototype)
(F2P – Craftable)
One of the only F2P alternatives for Tighnari.Grants attack, useful for increasing Tighnari’s damage. His passive grants an ATK bonus when a charged arrow hits an enemy’s weak point, up to 36% for 10s in R1.

Artifacts: which statics to prioritize?

If you already have enough Elemental Mastery from other members of your team or your substats, you can go for an Hourglass ATK%.

Despite a very low energy recharge cost, you may find it difficult to use your elemental unleash every spin . So you can either look for Energy Refill on your gear accordingly or skip it as there are already plenty of other stats to look for on Tighnari.

Prerequisites in energy recharge:

  • If only one Dendro character and no way to recover neutral particles (carrying a Favonius weapon in the team or killing enemies): 160%
  • If another Dendro character is on the team: 130%

Substats to prioritize: Tx Crit = DGT Crit > ATQ > ME > RE

The best artifact sets for Tighnari

4P Memory of Forest 2P: Grants 15% bonus Dendro DMG4P: After an elemental skill or burst hits an enemy, their Dendro RES is reduced by 30% for 8s. This effect can be triggered even if the character equipped with the artifact is part of the team but not deployed. This artifact set is theoretically the best set for Tighnari . It increases the character’s Dendro damage and decreases the enemies’ Dendro resistance. However, if you have the possibility, it is more interesting to equip it on another character of the team (ideally Dendro but not obligatory). So you can take advantage of another set’s bonuses to maximize Tighnari’s damage, while applying the Dendro resistance debuff to enemies.
4P Stray band 2P: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80 pts.4P: Increases DMG inflicted by Charged Attacks by 35% when this Artifact Set is equipped by characters wielding a Bow or Catalyst.A very good Artifact set for Tighnari as it increases Elemental Mastery and boosts Charged Attacks . Also, you should definitely have some good spare parts if you have been playing Genshin Impact for a while, unlike the last option offered.
4P Golden Dream 2P: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80 pts.4P: Triggering an elemental reaction grants bonuses to the character equipped with the artifact for 8s depending on the number of elemental types of the other characters in the team: their ATK increases by 14% for each member of the same elemental type as theirs , and his elemental mastery increases by 50 pts for each member of an elemental type different from his. Each of the aforementioned bonuses has a maximum of 3 characters. This effect can be triggered once every 8 sec, even if the character equipped with the weapon is part of the team but not deployed.A set of artifacts that will go perfectly with a Tighnari played in a team with a lot of elemental reactions . If you don’t have any potable Wandering Band coins, you can go farm this set. The Dendro set is also droppable in the same dungeon, so you can kill two birds with one stone.

Teams: with whom to play Tighnari?

In conclusion of all these explanations, we can consider Tighnari as a quickswap DPS and a very good Dendro Enabler . We will therefore seek to play him in teams that will highlight these two aspects.

Catalysis – Double Dendro

TighnariDendroFischlZhongli

This team composition excels in single target damage.

You will play Tighnari alongside a second Dendro character who will act as the drums and to activate the Dendro resonance . This character will need to equip the Forest Remembrance Artifact Set in order to apply the Dendro Resistance Debuff to enemies.

Fischl will be at the heart of the team’s elemental reactions as she will regularly trigger Stimulate and Overactivate

Zhongli, meanwhile, will fulfill his classic role of protector. It will provide both a shield interrupt resistance , and even an ATK buff if you equip it with a 4P Millelith.

If the presence of a healer reassures you, you can replace Zhongli with Kuki Shinobu. It will also give you the benefit of Electro resonance.

Catalysis – Double Electro

TighnariFischlYae MikoZhongli

This time, it’s the Double Electro that we are going to highlight, and at the same time bring out two waifus that are little used in the meta compositions.

Pairing two Electro characters with Tighnari will allow you to trigger even more Overdrives . For an effective off-field application, you can pair Fischl with Yae Miko. The latter can also be replaced by Keqing.

Zhongli still fulfills his role as a shielder, with one difference compared to the previous composition: you will need to equip him with the 4P Forest Souvenir set . It is indeed the best placed of the team to carry it. It thus brings the coveted Dendro resistance debuff to maximize Tighnari’s damage.

If you want, you can replace the second Electro character with Kazuha , but you’ll lose the Electro resonance there. However, you will gain buffs and debuffs of all kinds through the Dispersion of the Electro element . Thanks to this, Kazuha notably brings an Electro damage bonus, as well as an Electro resistance debuff to your enemies if you equip her with a 4P Green Huntress.

Exuberance

TighnariFischlKazuhaKokomi

Make way for the use of another Dendro reaction involving the Dendro, the Hydro and the Electro.

Accompanied by Kokomi, Tighnari will be able to trigger the Blossom reaction generating Dendro Cores on the ground. It will then suffice to apply the Electro element to these Cores to trigger Exuberance , which will cause Dendro damage.

In Electro, Fischl is still in the best position thanks to its rapid application. Kazuha will come and disperse the Electro element for even more Exuberance . It will also provide an Electro damage boost , as well as an Electro resistance debuff to your enemies if you equip it with a 4P Huntress Green. In addition, it allows you to gather all your enemies, very practical to centralize your damage.

If you don’t have Kazuha, it can be replaced with Sucrose . She also shines in the support role of this team as she brings a lot of elemental mastery to the team.

Kokomi, in addition to giving you security with her care , will also be a very good support . As artifacts, equip it with a 4P Forest Souvenir to decrease your enemies’ Dendro resistance . For the weapon, opt for the volume 3★ History of the hunters of the dragons to increase the attack of Tighnari or Fischl .

In summary, Tighnari is a very good Dendro character capable of inflicting heavy damage thanks to his kit focused on charged attacks and the various Dendro reactions. However, it won’t be ideal for multi-target damage. Collei and Traveler Dendro will be more convenient for this. We prefer to play Tighnari in Quickswap teams with a lot of elementary reactions: the damage will rain down!

As usual, I leave you with my downloadable summary build sheet , which visually summarizes the main points of this article.

Please note: Tighnari will be available on the permanent banner starting with Update 3.1.
