AGNEA (DANCER) BUILD IN OCTOPATH TRAVELER 2

AGNEA (DANCER) BUILD IN OCTOPATH TRAVELER 2

Agnea is a character from Octopath Traveler 2 that I generally highly recommend since she is one of the best Supports in the game (I would compete with Partitio for the position, but in the end I ended up liking Agnea more despite the fact that Partitio also seems like a tremendous character to me) .

And it is that Agnea is a Dancer, a class that is above all specialized in providing some interesting buffs to the team so that they can do greater damage or even advance their turns. I think it’s enough to say that this is something that is very common in an RPG like this game.

But it is also that this one has a very interesting little trick that is what made me prefer her over the almighty Partitio, and that is that if we seduce the right person, we will turn her into a PH recovery while she is applying her buffs to that we can spam abilities with our characters without fear of having to lose turns to recover them through the use of objects. I mentioned the trick in La’Mani ‘s post , so keep an eye on it because it’s really worth it.

DANCER JOB SKILLS

Let’s start by looking at the Active Skills of the Dancer, I will also tell you which ones you should use more.

  • Dance of the Lion : We will increase the Physical Attack of the character for 2 turns. Ideal to boost characters like Hikari , Ochette or Throné.
  • Fatal Tapping : A very interesting attack that we can use when we don’t want to apply any buff or they are already applied. It has decent damage (although as we usually won’t build it to Damage much, it won’t hit as much), but the best thing is that we will always reduce the shield of the enemies when hitting them with this attack.
  • Strut : Increases a teammate’s Elemental Attack for 2 turns. We will use this above all to boost the damage of characters like Osvald or Temenos.
  • Rumbero Whirlwind : A magical attack of the Wind element that can come in handy against enemies weak to that element, but the truth is that I much prefer «Fatal Heels».
  • Accelerated Compass : We will advance the action turn of a partner by 1. It is a priority to use «Lion Dance» and «Strutting», but being these applied it is not a bad idea to use this Skill to advance turns strategically. I don’t usually use it much, everything is said.
  • Dance of the Kodachi : A hit with the Dagger to all enemies simultaneously. A good area damage option never hurts, especially relevant against enemies weak to this type of weapon.
  • Confused Grace : We will apply a strange effect 1 time. I never use it because it’s too random and a lot of the time it’s useless.
  • Sealticge Passion : Divine Ability, so you can only use it with 3 Boost. Very good buff since for 3 turns the individual Skills of a character will hit all the enemies, which can be translated into a nonsense of damage in the area. Imagine combining it with a «Heavenly Slash» from Hikari.

SUPPORT SKILLS

These are the Support Skills of the Dancer Job:

  • Let the Show Go On : Increases the duration of the buffs you grant by 1 turn . An essential for a character like her or anyone who intends to apply buffs often.
  • Evasive Shaking : Improves the Evasion of the character, so I recommend it for any character.
  • Currante : Increases the PT that the character obtains at the end of a battle. Pretty useless really.
  • Soul of the Party : Slowly increases the PT of allies that have received one of our buffs. Very interesting for characters that apply buffs as in the case of the Dancer.

AGNEA POTENTIAL

I really like Agnea’s Potential as it can be used both offensively and to further enhance the support she can provide to her party. When activating it, our buffs will be applied to all the characters on your team simultaneously, which is great, the pity is that if you don’t have a team specialized purely in Physical Damage or Elemental Damage, it doesn’t take advantage of that much (unless it’s that you use «Accelerated Compass», which would not be a bad idea).

On the other hand, we can also hit all enemies simultaneously with our offensive attacks. I usually use it with Fatal Heels, so you make sure to lower the shield of all enemies at once.

Oh, and unfortunately we can only use it with the Dancer’s abilities, so we won’t be able to Donate IP to the whole party (that would be awesome).

BEST STATS

Improving his offensive section doesn’t make much sense since generally we will be applying a buff to our allies and attacking as such will be something we do only occasionally. So hers would be to focus more on statistics that improve her support, such as Speed (it is important that she apply the buffs before her teammates attack).

Having this as the highest priority, it will never hurt to improve his defensive section a bit (without reducing his Speed, so forget about heavy equipment). The best thing would be to improve his Evasion and Health (and Defenses, but that said, with light equipment).

BEST SIDE JOBS

Throne in Octopath Traveler 2

Regarding Side Jobs, these are my recommendations in order from best to worst:

  • Thief : The option that I recommend the most today since it will allow us to apply a debuff to enemies. Which translates into a character that improves his team and depletes enemies, thus providing colossal support.
  • Merchant : To be able to have the ability to Donate IP, which translates into providing a lot of additional support to your teammates.
  • Cleric : To be able to provide defensive buffs to your teammates and of course to be able to heal. It shouldn’t be the main Healer, at most an additional support in case the main one is in a hurry. Think that what interests you is applying your buffs .
