HOW TO MAKE CHARCOAL IN MINECRAFT

HOW TO MAKE CHARCOAL IN MINECRAFT

Coal is without a doubt one of the most useful resources in Minecraft since, after all, it is the main fuel that we will use to melt things in our Furnace. I think we all know that through mining (in high areas) we can find Coal Ore.

But… did you know that Vegetable Charcoal can also be created ? Basically it would have the same function as the normal Coal of a lifetime (with a few small differences that we will comment on below) and this can serve as an alternative in the event that for whatever reason you do not find Coal Ore in your adventures in Minecraft ( something that can happen especially the first days of the game or if you need a lot of Coal and simply want another method to obtain it, or at least a variant of it that for practical purposes does the same thing). So nothing, here we go!

HOW TO GET VEGETABLE CHARCOAL IN MINECRAFT

Vegetable Coal is actually easier to obtain (well, it depends on how you look at it, but it is easier in the sense that it requires a much easier resource to find) since we will only need a Furnace, Tree Trunks ( The tree doesn’t matter: Oak, Birch, Fir, Acacia… trees come on) and a fuel (which the wood itself is good for since you’re supposed to have no coal at the moment).

Remember that the Furnace can be created by adding Rock (Cobblestone) in the Crafting Table, specifically 8 units, leaving the center hollow. And regarding the Tree Trunks, well, you will have to cut down whatever tree it is and stay directly with the trunk that they drop. Cut down some trees and turn some of the logs into wood (put the log alone and you’ll create 4 wood) for fuel.

Crafting Charcoal in Minecraft

As soon as you have everything, you interact with the Furnace and put wood as fuel at the bottom and at the top you put the Tree Trunks and that’s it, you’ll be creating Vegetable Charcoal, specifically one unit of it for each trunk.

WHAT IS IT FOR AND DIFFERENCES COMPARED TO NORMAL COAL

Like Coal, Charcoal can be used as a very efficient fuel to melt things in the furnace and also to create torches (you craft them with a stick and put the Charcoal on top, it works the same way, come on).

They don’t stack with each other because the game considers them to be different entities, I mean Charcoal and Charcoal will stack separately (at the end of the day even though they amount to the same thing they are different materials and labeled with different names).

But… what is the difference between these two materials? Well, apart from what we have already clarified, there is a difference that makes this fuel a little less efficient than standard Coal. I mean that we can not add 9 units of Charcoal in the crafting table to create a Block of Charcoal «Vegetable» , something that we can do with the Coal that we extract in mining.

Why is this usually done to create Carbon Blocks? Well, because a Block of Coal is more efficient as a fuel than the 9 units of Coal together. But anyway, this is still a small disadvantage, the best thing is that you use the Vegetable Carbon as an alternative in case you don’t find it mining so you don’t get a little sold.

THE OTHER WAY TO GET COAL

To finish I wanted to leave you with another method to get Coal, in this case the one of a lifetime, without the need to require Mining, only this would be for players who are more advanced and therefore it would be strange if they do not have a lot of coal. But hey, you know, information is power.

These are the Wither Skeletons , since by defeating them they can release Coal, so even assuming that you are a madman who has deforested your world and exhausted all the Coal Ore, you would still be able to get it this way since after all these they will spawn naturally.
