GUIDE AND BUILD OF THE HYDRO TRAVELER IN GENSHIN IMPACT

GUIDE AND BUILD OF THE HYDRO TRAVELER IN GENSHIN IMPACT

With the arrival of the Fontaine region in Genshin Impact, we will be able to interact with one of its Statues of the Seven to enter into harmony with the Hydro Element and transform our protagonist into the Hydro Traveler , this being the fifth element that this character can control.

He may be a character that disappoints you a bit after having his version of Traveler Dendro (which has been the most useful to date), since this version does not have very good Constellations and his abilities are not the best either. Big Deal.

The good thing is that this character will be able to apply Pneuma energy , so while we get other Fontaine characters, the Hydro Traveler will be able to use this energy to paralyze some of the new enemies that we will find in this region and this energy will also be necessary to solve some mechanisms.

HYDRO TRAVELER STATS

Its stats remain the same as its Anemo , Geo , Electro  and Dendro versions which would be as follows upon reaching level 90:

  • Base Life : 10,875
  • base attack : 212
  • Base Defense : 683
  • Attack % : 24%

Obviously, being the same character, it will not change its stats when in line with the Hydro element, so this will also be maintained for future versions.

TALENTS OR SKILLS

The Hydro Voyager possesses the following set of talents or abilities:

NORMAL ATTACK: ALIEN OVERFLOW

They don’t change this time either, they remain the same as those of previous travelers.

  1. Normal Attack: A combo of up to 5 quick hits.
  2. Charged Attack: Will consume a certain amount of stamina and launch a cross sword strike.
  3. Down Attack: Launched from the air to slam the ground, damaging nearby enemies and dealing AoE damage on impact.

ELEMENTAL SKILL: WAVING SWORD

  • TOE: 8 seconds.
  • Torrential Eruption Damage: 340.7% (level 10).
  • Dewdrop Damage: 51.8% (level 10).
  • Hold Duration: 6 s max.
  • Profusion Health Consumption: 4% of Max Health.
  • Profusion Damage Increase: 1.15% of Max Health (level 10).
  • Halitospiritual Thorn Interval: 9 sec.
  • Spirit Breath Thorn Damage: 59%.

Elemental skill on single tap

By using this Elemental Skill by pressing it once, we will generate a jet of water that will attack an enemy.

Elemental ability when held down

If we use this ability while holding it down, we will enter a mode in which we will launch a succession of many drops of water. In this mode we will have to aim towards the enemies we want to hit with this ability and when we finish throwing drops, the water jet that this Elemental Skill does when we only press it once will be generated.

Profusion : If by holding down this Elemental Skill the Hydro Traveler has more than 50% of his Health, he will constantly consume 4% of his Maximum Health to increase the damage of this skill.

Arje: Pneuma

Every 9 seconds after casting this Elemental Skill, a Spirit Breath Thorn will appear on the battlefield, dealing Hydro Damage charged with Pneuma energy.

ULTI: RISING TIDAL

  • Energy Cost: 80.
  • Duration: 4 seconds.
  • TOE: 20 seconds.
  • Skill Damage: 183.4% (level 10).

When using this Ultimate, the Hydro Voyager will spawn a large bubble that will move very slowly across the battlefield, continuously dealing Hydro Damage to enemies.

PASSIVE 1 – PRISTINE WATERS

When the dewdrops from the pulsed Elemental Skill hit an enemy, a droplet is created that will restore 7% of Hydro Traveler’s Health when picked up. Only 4 drops can be created this way each time we use this ability and only one drop can be generated per second.

Not that it’s a wonderful Passive Talent, but it will at least allow the Traveler to recover some of the Health spent on Profusion by holding the Elemental Ability down.

PASSIVE 2: CRYSTALLINE WATERS

When the Traveler consumes Life by using his Pulsed Elemental Skill, the damage of this skill’s final hit will be increased by 45% in proportion to the amount of Traveler’s Health consumed by using this skill.

The final hit damage of this skill can only be increased by a maximum of 5,000 points. For example, if our traveler has 25,000 Health and loses 8,750 to Profusion, the damage of this hit would increase by 3,957.

As you can see, the damage increase isn’t too great and makes it a pretty irrelevant Passive Talent.

CONSTELLATIONS

Let’s see now everything we can achieve through its Constellations:

  • C1 – Muddy Lakes : When picking up a drop of water created by the Elemental Skill pressed, the Hydro Traveler will recover 2 Elemental Energy points (to create these drops it is necessary to have the first Passive Talent active).
  • C2 – Bubbling Streams : The bubble created by the Ultimate increases its duration by 3 seconds and reduces its movement speed by 30%.
  • C3 – Raging Waves : Increases the Elemental Skill level of “Waving Sword” by +3. It can be increased up to Lv. fifteen.
  • C4 – Precipitating Flurries : By using the Elemental Ability we will create a shield (with an absorption capacity of 10% of the Hydro Traveler’s maximum Life and a Hydro Damage absorption effectiveness of 250%) that will last until we finish executing it. Once every 2 seconds, hitting an enemy with the elemental will increase the shield’s absorption capacity by 10% or spawn another one if the previous one was broken.
  • C5 – Meandering Meanders : Increases the Ultimate Ability level of “Rising Tide” by +3. It can be increased up to Lv. fifteen.
  • C6 – Tides of Justice : When the Traveler picks up a drop of water created with the Elemental Skill pressed, it regenerates Health for the character on the team with the lowest Health in proportion to 6% of the character’s Maximum Health to be healed.

These Constellations leave a lot to be desired, the only thing that seems a little more useful to me is the shield that is created with C4 to avoid being interrupted while launching the stream of the Elemental Ability, since it is the main source of damage and « utility” of this version of Traveler.

BEST BUILD FOR VOYAGER HYDRO ( MAIN DPS )

In this case, this version of the Hydro Voyager is oriented to be the team’s carry , only in this case it will be a Main DPS that will not attack with its Basic Attacks; instead, we’ll use his pulsed Elemental Skill, which has a fairly long duration and does decent damage, so we’ll use him as a sort of Tartaglia or Ayato a little bit.

BEST WEAPONS FOR HYDRO VOYAGER

Jade Cutter in Genshin Impact

These are the weapons that I recommend for the Hydro Traveler:

  • Primordial Jade Cutter ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ : Provides a high Critical Chance rate, has a good Base Attack, increases the Life of its bearer by 20% and also provides us with a % Attack bonus based on Life maxim.
  • Reflection of Darkness ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: Gives us an extraordinary Base Attack, a good amount of Critical Damage and Elemental Damage Bonus.
  • Lupine Fang ⭐⭐⭐⭐ : Has a good amount of Critical Chance as a secondary stat, provides increased damage to Elemental and Ultimate Skills, and also increases Critical Chance based on hits we land.
  • Poisonous Wish  ⭐⭐⭐⭐ : We are very interested in the damage and Critical Chance boost it provides for his Elemental Ability and also gives us a good amount of Energy Recharge.
  • Abyssal Requiem  ⭐⭐⭐⭐ : This sword can give you a very good amount of both Percent Attack and Flat Attack, but we will need a character to heal him to activate the passive of this sword.
  • Cinder River Ford  ⭐⭐⭐⭐ : Increases the Critical Chance of the Elemental Skill and provides a lot of Energy Recharge.

BEST ARTIFACTS

Vurukasha's Flare in Genshin Impact

Regarding the parameters in the artifacts, we will look for the following:

  • Helmet : Chance to Crit or Crit Damage.
  • Clock : Attack % or Energy Recharge (Energy Recharge only in case you don’t recharge well).
  • Chalice : Hydro damage bonus.

Substats you are looking for:

  • Priority: Critical Damage, Critical Chance, Attack % and Energy Recharge.
  • Non-priority: Life % and Elemental Mastery.

This is the set of artifacts that we recommend:

  • Vurukasha’s Flare :
    • 2 Pieces : +20% Life.
    • 4 Pieces : Increases the damage of Ultimate Ability and Elemental Ability by 10%. When the wearer of this set takes damage, the above effect is increased by 80% for 5 seconds (this effect can stack up to 5 times). The stacks of this four-piece set’s effect are independent and work even if the character is on the team but not active on the field.

The main sources of damage for the Hydro Voyager are his Ultimate Ability and above all, his Elemental Ability; Therefore, we are very interested in equipping him with the full set of Vurukasha’s Flare to increase the damage of both abilities by up to 50% when maxing out the stacks of this set through the Profusion of his Elemental Ability.

Since Hydro Voyager continuously loses health by holding down his Elemental Ability, he will have no problem triggering this set’s stacks, as they are taken from taking damage and this character continuously loses health doing so.

Of course, for him to lose Life when executing his Elemental Skill, the Traveler must have more than 50% of his Maximum Life when executing it, so we must try to keep him with high Life and remember to collect the drops he creates after using his Elemental Skill to restore the Health you have lost when using Profusion.

The only downside is that unfortunately Hydro Voyager’s abilities don’t scale based on his Max Health and instead scale in proportion to his Attack %. The good thing is that one of his passives increases the damage of his Elemental Skill based on the amount of Maximum Life it has, although it is not a very beastly increase, at least we can take advantage of the +20% Life bonus that we offers the two-piece ensemble of this set.

ASCENSION MATERIALS AND TALENT BOOKS

We will need the following materials to promote him:

  • Bright diamond.
  • Flying Daisies .
  • Masks of the Hilichurls.

And as for Talent Books :

  • You will need all of Fontaine’s Talent Books.
  • Oceanic Spawn Condensate.
  • Lush Paradise Fern ( Guardian of Apep Oasis ).
  • Crown of Wisdom (Talent level 10).
