Dr. Ratio is a five-star character in Honkai Star Rail of the Imaginary type who belongs to the Path of the Hunt. He has abilities that generate quite a bit of single target damage , but the true source of his power lies in his Additional Attacks, which he can only execute under certain circumstances.
Something that draws a lot of attention about Dr. Ratio is that he has multiple mechanics that allow him to improve his damage or his probability of generating Additional Attacks when attacking an enemy that is under multiple negative states, therefore, it will be mandatory to play this character along with a Nihility to be able to bring out his true potential.
The best thing about this character is that thanks to the fact that Honkai Star Rail won The Game Award for the best mobile game of 2023, it was decided to give all players from version 1.6 to 2.1 a copy of this character, making all players we can enjoy it. That said, let’s see how this wonderful character works and the best way to build him .
ATTRIBUTES OR STATISTICS
These are the Attributes or Stats that Dr. Ratio will have at the highest level (80):
- HP: 1048
- ATK: 776
- DEF: 461
- SPD: 103
- Taunt: 75
Dr. Ratio’s stats are pretty good overall. He stands out especially for having a fairly high Base ATK and his defensive areas are also well covered; The only parameter that is somewhat deficient is his Base SPD, which falls somewhat short compared to other characters in the Hunting Path.
DR. RATIO’S SKILLS
These are all of Dr. Ratio’s Skills. The numbers/percentages are what he has at the lowest level:
BASIC ATK: KNOWLEDGE IS POWER
- Energy Recovery: 20
- Weakness Break: 30
Deal 50% of Dr. Ratio’s ATK as Imaginary Damage to a single enemy of your choice.
BASIC SKILL: COGNITIVE REINFORCEMENT METHOD
- Basic Skill Point Consumption: 1
- Energy Recovery: 30
- Weakness Break: 60
By using this Basic Skill we will generate an attack that will hit a single enemy of our choice, inflicting 75% of Dr. Ratio’s ATK as Imaginary Damage.
ULTIMATE SKILL: SYLLOGISTIC PARADOX
- Energy Cost: 140
- Energy Recovery: 5
- Weakness Break: 90
Generates an attack that will deal 144% of Dr. Ratio’s ATK as Imaginary Damage to an enemy while applying a status called “Madness of the Sages” to them. The only thing this effect does is mark said enemy and when he receives an attack from an ally, Dr. Ratio will automatically hit him with an Additional Attack.
The duration of Madness of the Sages lasts for a total of 2 Additional Attacks and will then dissipate. This Additional Attack is similar to the one that March Seven has, but in the case of Dr. Ratio, it causes truly devastating damage .
TALENT: I THINK, THEREFORE I AM
When Dr Ratio executes his Basic Skill, we will have a 40% chance that after this hit an Additional Attack will also be executed that will generate Imaginary Damage based on 135% of his ATK. For each negative status that the target enemy suffers, we will increase the probability of this occurring by 20%.
If by chance we kill the enemy with the Basic Skill, the Additional Attack will be redirected to another enemy on the battlefield at random.
TECHNIQUE: MOLD OF IDOLATRY
By using this Technique, Dr. Ratio will create a statue of himself that will generate a special area with which he will provoke nearby enemies for 10 seconds. If we enter combat with these, we will have a 100% base chance that the enemies’ SPD will be reduced by 15% for 2 turns.
TRACE SKILLS
We can unlock them in the Traces when we reach a certain Ascension Level.
- Ascension Level 2 – Induction
- The Basic Skill gains +2.5% CRIT Chance and +5% CRIT Damage for each negative status possessed by the enemy we attack (maximum 6 stacks ).
- Ascension Level 4 – Inference
- When hitting an enemy with Dr. Ratio’s Basic Skill, we will have a 100% base chance of reducing the enemy’s Effect Res by -10% for 2 turns.
- Ascension Level 6 – Deduction
- If the target we hit has 3 or more negative statuses, the damage caused by Dr. Ratio to said enemy will increase by 10% for each negative status it possesses (the damage can be increased by a maximum of 50% of this manner).
EIDOLON
These are the improvements that the character obtains through the Eidolon:
- E1 – The Calamity of Arrogance : We will start each fight directly with 4 charges of Induction (Trace of Ascension Level 2) and your stack limit increases by a maximum of 10 stacks.
- E2 – The Divine is in the Details : Every time Dr. Ratio’s Extra Attack is activated, the target enemy will receive 20% of Dr. Ratio’s ATK as Imaginary Damage for each negative state that said enemy is under ( maximum 4 activations for each Additional Attack).
- E3 – Know Yourself : +2 levels to the Basic Skill and Talent. +2 levels to the Ultimate Skill and +1 level to the Basic Attack.
- E4 – Ignorance is Bold : Dr. Ratio will recover 15 energy points each time his Talent is activated.
- E5 – Drifting in the Immensity : +2 levels to the Ultimate Skill and +1 level to the Basic Attack.
- E6 – The Eternal Truth : The Sage Madness effect of Dr. Ratio’s Ultimate Skill can be activated 1 more time. At the same time, the damage of his Additional Attacks increases by 50%.
DR. RATIO’S BEST BUILD
Overall, Dr. Ratio’s build doesn’t differ much from the vast majority of DPS in the game whose damage scales based on his ATK. Of course, his team compositions must always have at least one Nihility character, since otherwise, this character will lose a large part of his damage.
BEST LIGHT CONES
These are the best Light Cones for Dr. Ratio ordered from best to worst (they are all highly recommended anyway) and trying to add both 5 star and 4 star options. Here we will list the effects in Level 1 Overlay.
The Baptism of Pure Thought
+20% Critical Damage. +8% Critical Damage for each negative status the target has (maximum 3 stacks). When attacking an enemy with the Ultimate Skill, +36% damage is dealt and Extra Attacks ignore 24% of the enemies’ Defense. This effect lasts 2 turns.
Worries and Happiness
+18% to CRIT Chance and +30% to the damage of the wearer’s Additional Attacks. Attacking an enemy with an Extra Attack will affect them with the Taming effect, which will increase the Critical Damage of the attacks that said enemy receives by 12% per stack (maximum 2 stacks).
Star Cruise
+8% Critical Chance (16% at S5) and the effect is doubled if we attack an enemy who has half their Life or less. Each time its wielder eliminates an enemy, its Attack will increase by 20% (40% at S5) for 2 turns.
Sword Game
When the wielder of this Cone of Light hits the same target multiple times, the damage dealt to said enemy increases by 8%. This effect can be accumulated up to five times and will be lost if we change the objective.
Only Silence Remains
+16% ATK%. +12% CRIT Chance if there are 2 or fewer enemies on the field.
Return to Darkness
+12% CRIT Prob. 16% chance to remove a buff from the target when we hit them with a critical hit.
BEST ARTIFACTS AND ORNAMENTS
We will start with the Artifacts and Ornaments. These are the statistics that we recommend in each piece to maximize the character’s damage.
- Torso : CRIT Damage or CRIT Prob.
- Legs : SPEED.
- Plane Sphere : Imaginary Damage.
- Binding Rope : ATK%.
The substats :
- CRIT Damage
- Prob. CRIT.
- ATK%.
- VEL.
- Breakup Effect .
As for artifact sets, the following would be your best option:
Bandit Wasteland Dweller
2 Pieces: +10% Imaginary Damage. 4 Pieces: 10% CRIT Chance when attacking an enemy that has a negative status. +20% CRIT Damage if affected by Imprisonment.
Offensively, it is the best option that we can equip this character , since in the case of Dr. Ratio we will always benefit from the +10% Critical Chance, since we will always accompany him with a Nihility character that Inflict many status ailments on enemies. To gain 20% Critical Damage we depend on enemies being imprisoned, something that will be difficult to achieve consistently if we do not accompany it with more characters of the same type.
Another option is to combine two pieces of this same set with two other pieces of Grand Duke Incinerator, in order to increase the damage of his Additional Attacks by 20%, since the complete set of this last set is not of much use to him because it only You will be able to achieve an accumulation of its effects, because Dr. Ratio cannot generate more than one Additional Attack consecutively.
Their best Ornament Sets are the following:
Inert Sausage
+8% CRIT Prob. When CRIT Prob. ≥ 50%, +15% damage to Ultimate Skill and Additional Attacks.
This Set of Ornaments is great for Dr. Ratio, since on the one hand it gives him a little Critical Chance and on the other hand, it will increase both the damage of his Additional Attacks and his Ultimate Skill, which are the most damaging skills in your entire skill kit.
Glamoth, Front of the Firmament
+12% ATK and +12%/+18% Damage if SPD is greater than 135/160.
It is another pretty good option that will allow us to enhance both its Attack and its damage inflicted in general. Of course, if we want to get the maximum damage bonus that this set provides, we would have to accompany it with a Support that can increase its Speed.
BEST TEAMMATES
In Dr. Ratio’s team compositions, it will be essential to accompany him with at least one Path of Nihility character who can inflict multiple negative statuses on enemies, since these will be the ones that allow Dr. Ratio to have more possibilities to launch a greater number of Additional Attacks and at the same time, generally increase the damage inflicted by this character. Next, we will show you some of the best equipment for this character:
ASCENSION MATERIALS
These are the Character Ascension and Trace Materials that Dr. Ratio needs:
- Thief’s Instinct.
- Arrow of the Beasthunter.
- Edict of Containment (Puppet Form).
- Past Grievances of the Planet-Devouring Catastrophe.
- Traces of Destiny (for the highest level).
