IS “RETURN TO THE DARKNESS” WORTH IT IN HONKAI STAR RAIL?

IS “RETURN TO THE DARKNESS” WORTH IT IN HONKAI STAR RAIL?

« Return to the Darkness » is a four-star Cone of Light for characters on the Hunt track in  Honkai Star Rail  and the truth is that it is a Cone that I personally must say that I don’t like too much, although it is true that we have to Give it as a positive point that it is the typical Cone that is useful for all the characters of the Way.

What makes me not so convinced is that one of its passive effects has more of a support component, and it is also a fairly situational component, so it seems a bit “waste” to me, especially considering that There are more interesting Cones (both 4 and 5 stars) that provide greater DPS to our character. In the end, it is your thing in the Hunting route, to focus on hitting as much as you can.

In any case, it is true that in certain situations it is a tremendous Cone, but we will see that now in its in-depth analysis.

ATTRIBUTES OR STATISTICS OF “RETURN TO THE DARKNESS”

Let’s start by looking at its basic attributes, keep in mind that we will give you the data that it has at level 80 (the maximum):

  • HP : 846.
  • ATK : 529.
  • DEF : 330.

Let’s now see the benefits that the passive of this Cone of Light brings us:

  • S1 : +12% CRIT Prob. 16% chance to remove a buff from the target when we hit them with a critical hit.
  • S5 : +24% CRIT Prob. 32% chance to remove a buff from the target when we hit them with a critical hit.

At the outset, comment on the good part, which is that Critical Chance that it provides us without any type of condition. This statistic is one of the most valuable for a DPS and while it is true that there are other 4-star Cones that provide it (“Only Silence Remains” is a good example of this), these usually have a condition for it and it is always It is better to obtain statistics without any conditions in between to guarantee it 100%.

Only Silence Remains on Honkai Star Rail

Only Silence Remains

+16% ATK%. +12% CRIT Chance if there are 2 or fewer enemies on the field.

The “bad” part is that the second part of the passive gives us a chance to remove buffs from enemies when we hit them with a critical. This is not a bad thing at all, in fact in battles against enemies that apply a lot of buffs it is something very interesting; Also, keep in mind that this is when we hit with a critical and the Hunt characters tend to hit very often and deal several hits, so it will be quite common for the effect to be applied.

However, it is true that it would have been more appreciated if instead of this effect we had obtained something that further enhances our damage in general. These types of more supportive functions fit more with other Paths more intended for this, such as the Path of Harmony or Nihility.

BEST CHARACTERS FOR THE CONE OF LIGHT

The Cone is very versatile, so you can really equip it on any character without any problems. The only variable that can make it more effective on one character than another is precisely the number of times it attacks and the number of blows it performs , so that we can eliminate more buffs from enemies.

Seele on Honkai Star Rail

Seele is a character who attacks very often and his attacks usually make several hits (not the Ultimate, but at least it gives us an additional action after launching it) and therefore he is a great candidate for this Cone of Light, although well… he has many other options that are more worth it, but it is something that really applies to all the characters of the Path.

Topaz in Honkai Star Rail

Topaz and Conti is another character who also stands out for hitting very often and for performing several hits with his attacks, so he will be able to eliminate quite a few buffs as long as luck is with you since at the end of the day eliminating buffs is not guaranteed, it is a probability.

Sushang on Honkai Star Rail

Sushang can also use it very well for the same reasons already mentioned in other characters. She tends to attack quite often and also tends to deal several hits with her attacks (especially with her Basic Skill, especially if the enemy is in Weakness Break).

Regarding other recommendations, what I have already mentioned… any character of the Path can equip it given that all the characters of this Path, in greater or lesser quantities, tend to hit quite a few times:

Yanqing on Honkai Star Rail

Yanqing

Lots of Single Target Damage. CRIT Prob. and CRIT Damage can be auto-boosted. Deals more damage if you don’t take damage.

Dr. Ratio in Honkai Star Rail

Dr. Ratio

High damage on single target. He benefits greatly from the company of Nihility characters. It stands out for its powerful Additional Attacks.

Dan Heng in Honkai Star Rail

Dan Heng

Decent damage on Single Target. It can reduce the SPD of enemies a little and deals more damage to slowed enemies. You can increase your Speed.
