This time we bring you the build of Cyno , a 5-star character from the Sumeru region that many of us already knew from his previous appearance in the Genshin Impact manga .
This is a character that is imbued with the Electro Element for a certain time when activating his Ultimate Ability, this effect can be prolonged by using his Elemental Ability while Cyno is in this mode, making him a hypercarry DPS that takes up a lot of field time.
In a certain part it reminds me a bit of how to play Xiao, since their Elemental Abilities are quite similar and the damage of both depends entirely on their Ultimate Abilities, which also both have a high cost and take time to charge.
CYNO’S STATS
These are Cyno’s stats at level 90, they bear some similarity to Xiao ‘s :
- Base Health: 12,491.
- Base Attack: 318.
- Base Defense: 859.
- Critical Damage: 38.4%.
He has a slightly lower Base Attack than other Spearmen like Shogun Raiden or Xiao, but they still have pretty similar stats and makes up for it with higher Defense than these characters.
Therefore, its statistics are quite positive and we will also obtain Critical Damage through ascensions, one of the best attributes that a character can have when ascending.
TALENTS OR SKILLS
Let’s see your talents or abilities.
NORMAL ATTACK: SUMMONING SPEAR
Very similar to those possessed by other spearmen but with a shorter combo:
- Normal Attack : A combo of four fast spear attacks, usually Spearmen do one or two more hits than Cyno.
- Charged Attack : Consumes a certain amount of stamina to make a horizontal charge against enemies.
- Descending Attack : Dive attack that when hitting the ground will inflict Area Physical Damage to enemies.
ELEMENTAL SKILL: SECRET RITE – GUIDANCE OF THE ABYSSAL SOULS
- TdE: 7.5 sec.
- Mortuary Offering TOE: 3s.
- Pathfinder of the Oath Extend: 4 sec.
When using this Elemental Ability we will execute a frontal charge that will do Electro Damage to enemies, it is very similar to the Elemental Ability that Xiao possesses.
This Elemental Ability changes when Cyno is in the Pathfinder mode of her ulti’s Oath: her ToE will be changed from 7.5 to 3 seconds , the front charge will be replaced by a Mortuary Offering that will deal Electro Damage in an area and when using this Elemental Ability during the Ulti will lengthen the Pathfinder mode of the Oath by 4 seconds.
ULTI: HOLY RITE – LUPINE CELERITY
- Energy Cost: 80.
- TdE: 20 sec.
- Basic Duration: 10 seconds.
- Maximum Duration: 18 seconds.
- Elemental Mastery Increase: 100 points.
Cyno summons a divine spirit that possesses him and enters the Pathfinder mode of the Oath which gives him the following effects:
- The damage from his Normal Attacks is converted into Electro Damage, this cannot be replaced by any other element (i.e. it cannot be imbued into another element by the effects of Chongyun ‘s Elemental Ability or those of Bennett ‘s ult on his C6).
- Increases your Elemental Mastery by 100 points.
- Becomes immune to Electrocharged Elemental Reaction.
The good thing about this Ultimate Ability is that we can extend its duration thanks to its Elemental Ability and inflict Electro Damage for a longer time. Another thing to keep in mind is that the damage he deals while in this mode will not be deducted from his basics (so raising his basics won’t do us much good).
PASSIVE 1 – JUDGMENT OF THE FEATHER
While Cyno is in the Pathfinder state of the Oath of her Ultimate Ability, she will enter the “Prophet of the End” state from time to time and using her Elemental Ability in this state will cause the ” Judgment ” effect that will increase the damage of the Elemental Ability by 35% and will fire 3 catastrophic rays whose damage will be deducted from the 50% of Cyno’s Attack.
This Passive Ability will be great for us to boost the damage of our Elemental Ability, which we can launch very often while Cyno’s last lasts (since we will have this ability available every 3 seconds).
PASSIVE 2: POWER OF THE NINE BOWS
The damage of Cyno’s following attacks will increase based on his Elemental Mastery:
- Normal Attacks executed during his ult will increase in proportion to 125% of his Elemental Mastery (if for example our Cyno has 200 Elemental Mastery, the base damage of his Normal Attacks will increase by 250).
- The three catastrophic rays mentioned in the previous Passive Ability will increase their damage in proportion to 250% of Cyno’s Elemental Mastery (in this case with the same amount of Elemental Mastery as in the previous example, it would increase the base damage of the catastrophic rays in 500).
This Passive Ability is yet another reason for Cyno’s high Elemental Mastery and bears some similarity to one of Tignari ‘s Passive Abilities , which also increases the damage of his Normal Attacks based on his Elemental Mastery.
PASSIVE 3: GRACE OF SILENCE
This Passive Skill will cause Cyno to increase the rewards of the 20-hour expeditions in Sumeru by 25% when we send him out on expeditions.
This talent is similar to what Yelan possesses in her respective region.
CONSTELLATIONS
These are the benefits that Cyno is obtaining through his Constellations:
- C1 – Decree – Relentless Vigilance : Using his ult will increase his Attack Speed by 20% for 10 seconds. Also, if we activate the “Judgment” effect, the duration of this bonus will be reset.
- C2 – Ceremony – Return of Souls : Hitting an enemy with a Normal Attack will increase their Critical Chance by 3% and their Critical Damage by 6%; this effect can be activated every 0.1 seconds and stack a maximum of 5 times (the time of each stack is calculated independently).
- C3 – Edict – Punishment of the Law : Increases Ultimate by 3 levels, can be increased up to 15 levels.
- C4 – Inspection – Intimidating Defense : When Cyno is in Pathfinder of Judgment mode on her ult and performs an Elemental Reaction involving the Electro element, all team members except Cyno will recover 3 Elemental Energy (this effect only can occur 5 times during the same ulti).
- C5 – Obsequies – Transit Light : Increases Elemental Skill by 3 levels, can be increased up to 15 levels.
- C6 – Liturgy – Scales of Judgment : When activating the last or the effect «Judgment» of the Passive Skill, Cyno will obtain 4 charges of « Chacalic Rite» ; Hitting an enemy with a Normal Attack will consume a charge of this effect to launch a catastrophic ray. This effect lasts 8 seconds, can be cast 8 times during a single ult, and can be activated every 0.4 seconds.
His Constellations are good in general, especially the first two seem very relevant to me and will improve the character a lot.
THE BEST BUILD FOR CYNO (MAIN DPS)
Cyno is a Main DPS that due to his style of play will be present most of the time in the field dealing Electro Damage constantly and lengthening his ult as he attacks by alternating his Normal Attacks with his Elemental Ability, that is why he will need a team of fast-rotating characters that deal passive damage over time with their Ultimates.
BEST WEAPONS FOR CYNO
These are the spears we recommend to equip your Cyno:
- Staff of the Scarlet Sands ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: This weapon will give her a massive Critical Chance while also increasing its wielder’s Attack based on their Elemental Mastery, which Cyno will greatly benefit from.
- Jade Falcon ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: It gives us a good Base Attack, some Critical Chance and an increase in damage in general when reaching seven stacks of the passive of this spear, which we will easily achieve with Cyno.
- Epistolary Wind Halberd ⭐⭐⭐⭐: It will greatly increase our Attack and also by generating an Elemental Reaction it will increase our Attack and Elemental Mastery to a good extent.
- Spear of Duel ⭐⭐⭐⭐: It will give us a high Critical Chance and a fairly decent increase in Attack and Defense.
- Kitain’s Cross ⭐⭐⭐⭐: It will give us a certain amount of Elemental Mastery, the passive will help us to recharge the ulti and will also increase the damage of the Elemental Ability.
BEST ARTIFACTS
As for stats on artifacts:
- Helmet or Crown : Critical Chance or Critical Damage.
- Clock : Elemental Mastery.
- Chalice : Bonus Electro Damage.
Substats you are looking for:
- Priority: Critical Chance, Critical Damage, Elemental Mastery, and Attack %.
And as for the Artifact Set, we have two very similar options, so I recommend you choose the set with which you have better statistics:
- Thunder’s Fury :
- 2 Pieces : +15% Electro Damage Bonus.
- 4 Pieces : Increases the damage dealt by Overload, Electrocharged, Superconductor, and Overbloom Elemental Reactions by 40% and the bonus damage generated by Intensification by 20%. When activating any of these reactions or a Haste reaction, the cooldown of the Elemental Skill decreases by 1 second (this effect can occur once every 0.8 seconds).
With the two pieces of the set we will gain an Electro Damage Bonus and with the four we will be able to increase the damage of our Elemental Reactions, which will be very interesting because we will be doing Elemental Reactions with Cyno all the time due to the long duration of his last.
Another aspect of this set that interests us a lot is that due to the constant Elemental Reactions we will be able to lower the time of Cyno’s Elemental Ability even more, which will allow us to generate more damage in the field and at the same time generate a greater amount of elemental particles to recharge his expensive Ultimate Ability.
- Golden dreams :
- 2 Pieces : Increases Elemental Mastery by 80 points.
- 4 Pieces : When performing an Elemental Reaction, the character equipped with this set will obtain 50 Elemental Mastery points for each character in the team with an element other than their own and a +14% bonus to their Attack for each character they have your same element in the team; This effect lasts 8 seconds, can be activated every 8 seconds, and will remain even if the character is not on the field.
With this set, however, we will simply focus on increasing the amount of Elemental Mastery of Cyno, with the two-piece bonus we will have 80 Elemental Mastery points permanently and with the four-piece set we will be able to obtain 100 Elemental Mastery points and a 14 % to Attack in case we take another character that belongs to the same element or 150 Elemental Mastery points in case Cyno is the only Electro character in the team.
As mentioned before, Cyno increases the damage of her Basic Attacks and Elemental Ability’s catastrophic rays based on her Elemental Mastery and that’s why having a high amount of Elemental Mastery translates into more damage (especially if you carry it with the Staff of the Scarlet Sands).
BEST TEAMMATES
These are some of the characters that can support Cyno:
- Dori : He’ll cover the Healer spot for us on the team and help us recharge Cyno’s expensive ult.
- Dendro / Collei Traveler : Both characters will deal Dendro Damage passively for quite some time, which will allow us to create many Elemental Reactions and enable the Haste and Aggravate Elemental Reactions.
- Beidou : It has an ultimate that lasts 15 seconds during which it will lower our interruption resistance, mitigate part of the damage received and we will generate an electric shock when hitting enemies with Cyno’s Normal Attacks.
- Yelan/ Xingchiu : One of Cyno’s best options are Electrocharged teams and these two characters are very good for this type of team because they cover almost the entire duration of Cyno’s Ultimate, plus we already know how many damage that Xingchiu and Yelan’s ults deal passively.
- Candace/ Yun Jin : In the event that we want to include a character that increases the damage of Cyno’s Normal Attacks, we can accompany him with one of these two characters
- Zhongli : In the event that we decide to do without Healer, we can use Zhongli as a squire, since his shield is very resistant and has a long duration (in addition to lowering Elemental Resistances).
