by The Snowy Tundra is a rare Biome in Minecraft that stands out above all else for being completely covered in Snow, something that’s really cool (I like it a lot, do you like it too?).
And as in the Minecraft series that I started on YouTube (a little further down you’ll find a link to a video) I got this piece of Biome right next to where I started my adventure; So I wanted to write about all the things to be aware of in the Snowy Tundra Biome. Let’s go there!
SNOW EVERYWHERE
The most remarkable thing about this Biome is that everything will be covered in snow , which will give it the characteristic white color. The snow will pile up on the blocks which can be a good thing, or a bad thing depending on what you want to see.
The fact is that you can easily remove it with your hands, although it would be better with a Shovel; since with it we will obtain Snowballs. If you want to directly get the snow, you will have to use a Silk Touch Shovel.
Another fact that you should keep in mind is that it will occasionally snow; which does not influence too much, you will simply have much less visibility than usual. What no one takes away from you, yes, is how epic it is when it starts to snow. Also, forget about those pesky lightning bolts because they won’t hit this Biome, yeah!
WATER WILL FREEZE IN THE SNOWY TUNDRA
Whether lakes, rivers or small ponds; Do not hesitate, if they are in the snowy Tundra… they will freeze. This again can be good or it can be bad:
- We can walk on top of the ice, whether you like it or not, it’s easier than swimming.
- It will be more difficult to obtain Water because it will be frozen.
If you are worried about the subject of Water, do not fear, it will be enough for you to put a Torch near the Ice so that it melts and water is created. And since the topic of the Torch comes up, remember that the Soul Fire (the Blue one) is much less hot than the red fire of all life and therefore it will not melt anything.
YOU WILL LIVE WITH POLAR BEARS AND RABBITS
Polar Bears and Rabbits will be the only animals to appear naturally in the Snowy Tundra; Luckily they are both peaceful, but you should be especially careful with Bears anyway . They’re pretty nice, but don’t bother them either, or you’ll feel their fury.
About the Bears I am not going to expand much since some time ago I already made a Guide to Taming Polar Bears ; so you know, if you find one you could make it your pet, the truth is that they are quite cool.
And regarding the Rabbits, they are much more abundant than the Polar Bears and are a much safer food source than these. White rabbits with red eyes usually appear (which give a bit of a bad vibe, they are a bit evil), but you can rarely find a black and white one.
WATCH OUT FOR THE STRAY (WANDERING OR GLACIAL SKELETONS)
In this Biome we will often meet Stray , which are basically a variant of the Skeletons (Skeletons) but much more dangerous and cool at the same time. Why are they more dangerous than common Skeletons?
Well, you see, in the end it is more or less the same; Strays will attack with Arrows just like Skeletons do; but… his arrows will cause the effect of Slow for 30 seconds if they hit you and that is a problem. Just imagine the situation: Surrounded by enemies, Strays shooting arrows at you and on top of that moving super slow… bad business.
And be careful, because on top of that (already at the height of bad luck) a Stray could even appear mounted on a Spider, a creature that suffices to say how annoying it can be hahaha.
ONLY FEW OAKS WILL APPEAR
We will find very few trees in this Biome and they will only be Oaks, so I hope you like the color of their wood; The truth is that I quite like it. The fact is that if you intend to use a lot of Wood, whether you want to or not… it is used a lot; you will have to find other nearby Biomes where trees are more common or you will go crazy.
THE IGLOOS
Igloos are a fairly unusual structure in Minecraft that needs little explanation because their name says it all: It’s an igloo, nothing more. Which does not mean that they are quite cool and also on some occasions these have a secret underground room (you will have to dig the ground to find a hidden staircase that leads to a lower floor) in which we could find interesting things since in this room there may be a Chest and even a Potion Holder ; what is said soon right?
