WYRD GUIDE IN SEA OF STARS

WYRD GUIDE IN SEA OF STARS

Wyrd is the first boss that we will have to face in Sea of Stars and the truth is that it is an extremely simple boss, you know, the typical tutorial boss. We will find him in the first hour of the game and he is so nice that he even heals our lives to the maximum when the battle begins (that’s taking good care of your guests, hey).

Anyway, our intention is to bring you the guide to all the bosses in the game, so we will not rule this one out even though we consider that there probably won’t be too many people who need help to defeat him. The good thing about this boss is that it will be a kind of sample of what we can expect from the game’s bosses (although we already told you that things will get quite complicated as you progress) and it will also help us to explain some very very concepts. basic but also very key to Sea of Stars in passing.

Let’s go with the guide of this boss!

HOW TO DEFEAT WYRD IN SEA OF STARS

We will start as usual on this blog in boss guides, with a section talking about all their attacks and the ideal way to avoid them. In Sea of Stars we can know when an enemy will attack since it has a kind of counter on its body that will indicate how many actions our characters can take until the boss makes one of its attacks.

ATTACK GUIDE

These are all his attacks. The idea is to use the action button just when we are going to receive a hit to reduce the damage we receive a little.

  • Punch : A very basic punch. First he will raise his fist in a somewhat strange pose and after this he will deliver the blow, it is not very complex to block it.
  • Energy Release (avoidable) : The boss will show some icons on his body to tell you how many times you have to hit with certain types of damage, if you fail to complete this task that is when he will launch this attack on us. If, for example, 3 sword icons appear, that means that we will have to hit him 3 times with the sword (with a cutting weapon). Zale uses the Sword, Valere a staff (his icon is that of a hammer, blunt damage come on). Keep in mind that when using the “Attack” action, if we press the action button just when we hit the target, we will perform an extra attack (so in addition to doing more damage, it will count as 2 hits). If you don’t make it, you can also resort to the combo mechanics that we mention below. In fact, if he ends up carrying out the attack, he will make a kind of area wave that, luckily for us, causes very little damage, but of course you can try to block it to reduce its damage if you press the action button just when the wave is going to hit you. impact.

TIPS FOR BATTLE

The key to this boss is to always attack the weakness that is active at all times . Every time it attacks you will see a message appear on the screen saying that the boss has acquired a weakness, in addition, it will change color depending on what weakness it has at that moment:

  • Grey : Physical weakness, so you will have to use the “Attack” action with your two characters. By using the “Attack” action you gain MP.
  • Yellow : Weakness to the Sun. Attack it with Zale’s “Solar Sphere” ability. To cause maximum damage with this ability you have to hold down the button until the sphere reaches its maximum size, if you go too far it will decrease; Only through trial and error will you be able to see what the perfect moment is.
  • Blue : Weakness to the Moon. Attack him with “Valere’s” Lumerang ability. The trick with this ability is to press the action point just when the Lumerang returns to Valere to return it to the enemy, which creates a “Ping pong” style game in which the more times you return the Lumerang, the more damage you will cause ( It has a limit, but it is very high). If you do it right you will take away a lot of health from the boss.

If you need to heal, you can use the Tomato Snacks that you should have in your inventory unless you have melted them. You can use them through the “Items” option during battle. Note that when you use it on a character, that will count as an action taken (note that you can move from one character to another when you’re in battle, the order in which your characters attack is up to you). You can also call on Zale’s “Healing Light” Skill (although it’s a fairly small heal).

Finally, don’t forget to use the Combo action when you fill one of the combo diamonds completely. At the moment you can only use “Solstice Strike”, but the truth is that this ability is not bad at all since you will use the “Attack” action with both characters at the same time.

REWARDS

Shortly after defeating him, after the typical story scene, we will obtain a pair of Relics . Relics are objects that we can equip from a section of the game menu that is basically designed to facilitate the gaming experience for those who require it.

In my case I prefer not to use them because it seems to me that the game loses its essence a bit with them, but let everyone do what they want and enjoy the games to their own taste, of course.

  • Story Amulet : Increases the Max HP of your characters by 100% (doubles them, let’s say) and they will also be healed for all their lives when they overcome a battle.
  • Sequential Flare : This is a relic that I do see as quite viable since it will activate a kind of firework when we perform an action well (typical of blocking attacks at the right moment or pressing the button at the exact moment to enhance your attacks, that type of things that the game has) to be clearer that we have done it well (come on, in the end it doesn’t make the game itself easier). I also tell you… it’s not going at all well because there are attacks that, even if they are not perfect, the firework comes out… an example would be Zale’s “Solar Sphere”, as long as we launch it the firework will come out, it doesn’t detect if We have launched it in its most powerful version.
