Is Wine and Poetry Worth It in Genshin Impact?

Is Wine and Poetry Worth It in Genshin Impact?

Wine and Poetry is a four-star catalyst in Genshin Impact that stands out for having a fairly unusual passive, since it is one of the few weapons that allows you to reduce the cost of Stamina when sprinting.

It is a weapon that we will generally use in Main DPS , since to activate a part of its passive it will be necessary to execute Normal Attacks. However, due to the statistics that this catalyst provides us, it will be a viable option for certain characters who do not hold this role but take advantage of the attributes that Wine and Poetry offers us.

A curiosity about this catalyst is that statistically it is exactly the same as Ode to the Vast Blue, a very useful event catalyst for some characters whose main source of damage is based on the continuous use of Normal or Charged Attacks. The only difference between both weapons is the passive effects that each one grants.

Ode to the Vast Blue in Genshin Impact

Ode to the Vast Blue

+30.63% Energy Recharge. +8% damage to Normal Attacks and +6% damage to Charged Attacks when hitting an enemy with either of these two attacks (maximum 3 stacks).

Wine and Poetry Attributes in Genshin Impact

Let’s start with his statistics:

  • Base Attack Level 1 : 44.
  • Base Attack Level 90 : 565.

As far as Base Attack is concerned, it stands out notably, since it is one of the four-star catalysts with the highest Base Attack in the game along with the Nautical Chart , the Immaculate Fluence , the Eye of the Oath and the Ring of Hakushin. .

Its secondary attribute would be the following:

  • Energy Recharge Level 1 : 6.67%.
  • Level 90 Energy Recharge : 30.63%.

Because this catalyst has a high Base Attack, the amount that the secondary attribute gives us when we raise it to level 90 will be somewhat reduced and will only give us + 30.63% Energy Recharge , even so, it will be very useful for us. Good for characters who need a little help to recharge their Ultimate Skill.

His Passive Skill confers the following effect:

  • R1 : When attacking an enemy with a Normal Attack, the Stamina cost for sprinting or using a skill that replaces sprinting is reduced by 14% for 5 seconds. After sprinting or using a skill that replaces sprinting, Attack increases by +20%.
  • R5 : When attacking an enemy with a Normal Attack, the Stamina cost for sprinting or using a skill that replaces sprinting is reduced by 22% for 5 seconds. After sprinting or using a skill that replaces sprinting, Attack increases by +40%.

It’s not much of a mystery, when we attack an enemy with a Normal Attack, we will reduce the cost of sprinting or a skill that replaces it by 14% for 5 seconds. This type of ability refers, for example, to that possessed by Kamisato Ayaka or Mona, which allows us to dive under the terrain and move at high speed.

The second part gives us a +20% increase in Attack after sprinting , something that is not bad at all and compensates a little for the offensive part that we lose with the secondary attribute of this catalyst that gives us Energy Recharge. The only bad thing is that the bonus lasts only 5 seconds, so we may have to sprint again to renew it if the character spends a lot of time active on the field.

What Character Do I Put It To?

As we have mentioned before, the majority of characters who benefit from this catalyst will be those who have the Main DPS role and attack recurrently with their Normal Attacks, but there are also some exceptions:

Yanfei in Genshin Impact

We are very interested in the high Base Attack of this catalyst along with the Attack bonus it grants after sprinting to enhance  Yanfei , since this character has a somewhat reduced Base Attack and we will have to increase it as much as possible.

Another problem that this character has is that his Ultimate Skill is very expensive and his generation of elemental particles is not very good, so he will also take advantage of the Energy Recharge that gives us Wine and Poetry as a secondary attribute.

Furthermore, in his case the reduction in the cost of Stamina when sprinting will be quite useful, since his Charged Attack consumes a lot of Stamina and with this character we will have to sprint very often to evade enemies, since he is quite fragile.

Mona in Genshin Impact

Mona is a character who will not benefit from the Energy Recharge that this catalyst provides, because she receives a Hydro Damage Bonus based on the amount of said statistic she has. Furthermore, she will get even more use out of it if we carry her with four pieces of the Artifact Set called the Emblem of Destiny, since this increases the damage of the Ultimate Skill of the wearer depending on the amount of Energy Recharge that she has. .

Another aspect why Wine and Poetry will be useful is because Mona has an ability that replaces her sprint , since this allows her to immerse herself in the terrain to move at high speed around the battlefield (it is very useful for dodging enemies or position ourselves behind them), which will allow us to obtain the Attack bonus provided by the passive of this catalyst.

Another candidate for this catalyst would be Xianyun , since although the part of the passive focused on Normal Attacks does not suit this character very well, we are interested in the Attack bonus when sprinting and the high Base Attack that this catalyst has, due Because Xianyun needs a lot of Attack to give big bonuses to Down Attacks and heal more efficiently.

Another important point is that it is one of the few catalysts that allow him to maintain a high Attack while providing a certain amount of Energy Recharge, since Xianyun is a character whose functioning depends exclusively on having his Ultimate Skill always recharged, so Wine and Poetry will come in handy for this.

Other characters who take advantage of it:

  • Ninguang : It’s a shame because this catalyst fits a lot with this character, except for its secondary stat, since we don’t need much Energy Recharge on Ninguang. Therefore, it is better to equip him with other four-star weapons such as Tales of Dodoco.
  • Klee : Being a character who uses the catalyst as a weapon but attacks at short distances, we will sprint with it a lot to evade enemy attacks and therefore, we will frequently activate the passive of this weapon. The problem is that it is the same as Ninguang, it is good for him, but it does not require much Energy Recharge and he makes better use of other weapons that give him more interesting secondary statistics.
  • Charlotte : Her healing depends on the amount of Attack this character has, so she can take advantage of this catalyst. Additionally, the Energy Recharge she provides will also be very useful to him, as he relies on her Ultimate Skill to heal the group. Despite this, Charlotte makes the most of other catalysts such as the Eye of the Oath .
