IS THE RADIANCE OF CALM WATERS WORTH IT IN GENSHIN?

IS THE RADIANCE OF CALM WATERS WORTH IT IN GENSHIN?

The Glare of Calm Waters is a 5-star sword from  Genshin Impact that attracts a lot of attention for its statistics, but in reality, it is a sword that works quite poorly on the vast majority of characters because it has a passive that doesn’t quite fit. with almost no characters.

One of the reasons why it is so restrictive is because the damage of the Elemental Skill increases progressively when its wearer loses or gains Life, something quite bad, since many Elemental Skills are launched instantly, or do not produce significant damage. or they even have the snapshot mechanic and cannot enjoy this effect (as would be the case with Albedo ).

Personally, I think it is a weapon in which it is better not to invest if you already have another free weapon called Poisonous Desire, which does not give you all the advantages of this sword, but it does give you greater damage to the Elemental Skill in its R5 and gives you the bonus permanently and without the need to lose or gain Life.

ATTRIBUTES OF THE RADIANCE OF CALM WATERS IN GENSHIN IMPACT

Let’s start with his statistics:

  • Base Attack Level 1 : 44.
  • Base Attack Level 90 : 542.

Its Base Attack is extremely low for a five-star weapon, as there are many four-star weapons that surpass it in this area. This is because its secondary attribute is above ordinary and the character for whom this sword is intended does not depend on Attack to increase its damage.

Let’s continue with its secondary attribute, which is what makes this sword shine:

  • Critical Damage Level 1 : 19.2%.
  • Critical Damage Level 90 : 88.2%.

By promoting this sword to level 90, it will grant 88.2% Critical Damage  to its wielder, a very high amount of a statistic that will allow us to inflict a lot of damage when its wielder deals a critical hit.

His Passive Skill confers the following effect:

  • R1 : +8% damage to the wearer’s Elemental Skill for 6 seconds when their Life increases or decreases (maximum 3 stacks). +12% to the wearer’s Maximum Health for 6 seconds when another team member’s Health increases or decreases (maximum 2 stacks). These effects can be activated even if the weapon’s wielder is not active on the field.
  • R5 : +16% damage to the wearer’s Elemental Skill for 6 seconds when their Life increases or decreases (maximum 3 stacks). +24% to the wearer’s Maximum Health for 6 seconds when another team member’s Health increases or decreases (maximum 2 stacks). These effects can be activated even if the weapon’s wielder is not active on the field.

On the one hand, we can get +24% damage to the bearer’s Elemental Skill as long as he or she loses or gains Life at least 3 almost consecutive times, since each accumulation of this bonus will last only 6 seconds.

Taking this into account, we will need the character to be able to lose Life continuously when executing his skills or accompany him with a Healer who heals him constantly, such as Yaoyao , Kuki Shinobu or Bennett .

On the other hand, we have another even worse factor, since to get the 24% Life that this sword offers we have to meet the same requirement, but in this case it will be the rest of the team that will need to lose or gain Life to activate it. A character who can do this fairly consistently would be Dehya with damage mitigation from her Elemental Skill (but she uses Greatsword, of course).

In addition to all this, we have to make sure that the Elemental Skill of the wielder of this sword does not have a snapshot , since he would not be able to take advantage of the effects of this Elemental Skill if he has that mechanic in his skill, because his attributes remain fixed from the moment he the wielder casts his ability until its duration ends.

WHAT CHARACTER DO I PUT IT TO?

Its wielder must at least either have an Elemental Skill that generates a lot of damage or scale the damage of its skills with respect to its Life.

Furina in Genshin Impact

Obviously, this sword is created to the millimeter so that it works perfectly with Furina , since her Elemental Skill is one of the most durable, it does not have the snapshot mechanic and causes the entire team to lose Life in its Ousía form or gain it in its Pneuma form.

In this way, she will always be able to enjoy a +24% damage increase for the members of the room and another 24% to her Life%, which will also enhance the damage of these invocations and the blow she performs when executing her Ultimate Skill. At the same time, it also enhances the healing produced by the Minstrel of the Waters.

Storehouse in Genshin Impact

One of the few who will be able to make good use of this sword will be Alhacén , since at the end of the day the Calm Waters Radiance is an identical copy in statistics of his signature weapon called Shining Chlorophyll .

Since Alhacén usually goes on Overbloom teams with Kuki Shinobu and is a character that is played in melee, we won’t have many problems getting the maximum damage increase for his Elemental Skill, something that wouldn’t hurt to boost, since the damage of the blows from its light screen are nothing to sneeze at.

In addition, his Elemental Skill will last 4 seconds for each shining prism he has, something that we can extend by using a Charged Attack, so we can take advantage of the duration of this bonus quite well.

The only thing that we are not very interested in is the increase in Life that this sword confers when an ally increases or reduces their Life, since it will only help us to make Alhacén resist a greater number of blows.

Other characters who take advantage of it:

  • Nilou : It can be used in a Vaporized team as the Main DPS , since the damage of its skills is based on its Maximum Life and it will be able to take very good advantage of the bonuses of this sword. The problem is that this is very niche and is best carried as Support DPS in a pure Bloom team, but in this one it will be much better to equip it with a weapon like the Dock Saber , which is less expensive and gives it a greater amount of Health .
