It is a very simple sword that is totally dedicated to drastically increasing the Attack of our characters, there is no other weapon that beats it in this aspect, but we will be conditioned to equip it on a character that can create shields or carry a Support in the team that generates them for us.
It is a weapon that we often underestimate because it does not have a secondary stat of Critical Chance or Critical Damage and only provides a lot of attack, but it can really boost our character’s damage a lot, being a totally valid option.
MOUNTAINBREAKER ATTRIBUTES IN GENSHIN IMPACT
Let’s start by looking at its attributes:
- Base Attack Level 1: 46.
- Base Attack Level 90: 608.
Being a five-star sword, it has a high Base Attack, but in this parameter it does not reach the level of the Reflection of Darkness or the Aquila Favonia .
- Attack % Level 1: 10.8%.
- Attack % Level 90: 49.6%.
To complement the Base Attack of this sword, its secondary stat gives us a very high amount of Attack% , which will greatly enhance our character’s damage (if it is a character that increases its damage with Attack).
The Mountain Breaker’s Passive Ability grants the following effects:
- Increases shield protection by 20% (40% at R5).
- Hitting an enemy will increase our Attack by 4% (8% in R5), we can accumulate this effect a total of 5 times and the activation margin is 0.3 seconds.
- If we are protected by a shield, the Attack increase from the previous effect is increased by 100%.
One of the effects of this sword will help us improve the effectiveness of the shields of characters that do not have a shield that lasts as long as Zhongli ‘s and therefore breaks more easily, as is the case of Diona .
And the most interesting thing is the other effect that his Passive Ability gives us, since if we are protected by a shield we can accumulate an extra 40% Attack. For this reason, we will always have to have a character that puts shields or a Geo character that generates them through Crystallization so that the character that carries this sword can benefit from this effect.
WHAT CHARACTER DO I PUT IT ON?
We will look for characters that have the role of Main DPS or that need to execute Normal Attacks, if they do not generate shields on their own, at least we will need them to have a good synergy with other characters that generate shields and finally, the higher the Base Attack of the user, the more profitability you will get from this weapon.
Kamisato Ayaka is without a doubt one of the characters with the highest Base Attack in the game and therefore it will be the option with which we will best take advantage of all that Attack % that this sword gives us, reaching a very high amount of Attack that can reach easily 2,400 (not counting the Attack bonus generated by the Passive Skill).
Also, one of the characters that always goes with Ayaka on Frozen teams is Diona; with Diona’s shield we can obtain the bonus that will double the effect of the passive by having a shield equipped and we have already mentioned that Diona’s shields are not as strong (and it is not usually invested as much when building Diona), so that the 20% increase in shield protection will not hurt us at all (although Zhongli’s shield is more worth it because it holds and lasts longer).
This sword is not as good as the Reflection of Darkness for Ayaka, but it will make us have as much Attack as possible with it, another good point is that Ayaka has very good synergy with Diona, so we will not have to force a character on the team that doesn’t fit the bill for the mere fact of generating shields (as happens, for example, in the case of Diluc and the Sword of Laziness ).
It does not have as much Base Attack as its sister, but Kamisato Ayato is another of the best options we have to equip the Mountain Breaker; Unfortunately, other weapons such as Futsu’s Undulating Moon or the Jade Cutter are superior to him, but equally with the large amount of attack that he provides, we will continue to do a lot of damage.
Just as Ayaka has Diona, in Ayato’s case we can sometimes bring Yun Jin as a partner to amortize the weapon and increase the damage of his Normal Attacks; the only bad thing is that we will depend on her doing Crystallize reactions regularly to be able to keep us with a shield so that Ayato can receive the maximum Attack bonus on a constant basis.
Other characters that can take advantage of this sword:
- Qiqi : Her heals will be higher due to the high amount of Attack that this sword gives her and she will deal more damage than with the Flute or with Kagotsurube Isshin , but normally we will not take Qiqi with any character that generates shields and we will not be able to take advantage of it. all.
