by With the arrival of version 2.3, the Husk of Opulent Dreams artifact set is coming to Genshin Impact ; it is a set that is oriented for Geo element characters whose Elemental or Ultimate Abilities scale their damage or bonuses with respect to the character’s Defense.
The truth is that it is a very curious set, since it is the only one that buffs Defense and one of the few that increases the bonuses it gives us through stacks (this also happens with the Crimson Witch in Flames , but the only one that took advantage of it It was completely Diluc while in this set several characters can get the most out of it).
With that said, we will proceed to break down the features of this set and discuss which characters will benefit the most from this set.
HOW TO GET THE SHELL OF OPULENT DREAMS SET
The Husk of Opulent Dreams set can be obtained through the Domain called « Hibernation Court »; We find it located on Seirai Island and in it we can also randomly obtain the Oceanic Pearl set .
These would be all the pieces of the set:
- Flower : Age of Splendor.
- Feather : Feather of Opulence.
- Clock : Song of Life.
- Chalice : Pumpkin of Awakening.
- Crown : Wanderer’s hat.
WHAT DOES THIS SET OF ARTIFACTS PROVIDE US?
Let’s see what effects this set gives us:
- 2 Pieces : Defense +30%.
- 4 Pieces : Every time a character makes an attack that deals Geo-type damage, they will receive the “curiosity” effect (this effect can accumulate four charges at most). A stack of this effect can be received once every 0.3 seconds while the character is on the field dealing Geo damage; as long as he is in the team, but not on the field he will be able to get one every three seconds. Each charge we get will boost Geo Damage Bonus by 6% (24% at max charges) and Defense by 6% as well (24% same as above at max charges); Every six seconds that pass without obtaining a new charge, we will lose one of the charges that we have accumulated.
If we carry two pieces then we will simply have a 30% increase in our character’s Defense; We will most likely find this in MonoGeo teams so as not to carry as many characters with the four pieces of Opulent Dreams Shell, we will combine it with another two pieces of Archaic Petra (it could work with characters like Albedo or Gorou , since some of their Skills scale with Defense and take good advantage of the Geo Damage Bonus).
We will look for the four-piece set for a character that acts as our Main DPS and is constantly hitting Geo Damage to receive maximum charges or for a Support DPS that has an Elemental Ability that hits even if it is off the field and accumulates charge.
WHAT CHARACTER DO I PUT IT ON?
To start with, we’ll look for a Geo character whose abilities scale his damage relative to his Defense (which is why Ninguang and Zhongli aren’t good choices for the set); Secondly, as we have already mentioned, we will look for a character that occupies the position of Main DPS or a Support that inflicts Geo Damage passively.
Arataki Itto is without a doubt one of the best options for this set; On the one hand, his Ultimate Ability will increase Itto’s Attack with respect to Defense (as with Noelle’s ultimate, only the numbers on Itto are obviously higher) and also one of his passives increases the damage of Charged Attacks. Itto by 35% of his Defense (while Itto has Supernatural Force charges); therefore, the 54% Defense and 24% Geo Damage that this set can provide us in total is very convenient.
In addition, the advantage that Itto has over other Geo characters such as Noelle or Albedo is that his ultimate will increase its damage by accumulating charges, unlike these characters whose abilities maintain the damage they had at the time they were activated (And as Itto with his Ultimate Ability infuses his weapon in Geo Damage, we will get the charges of the set very easily).
Albedo is great at this set and in her role as Support DPS she can get the most out of it. On the one hand, his Elemental Ability lasts half life (30 seconds, it is one of the longest along with that of the Shogun Raiden ) and he will passively inflict Geo Damage with it, which will allow us to accumulate the maximum of the charges of the set even if Albedo is not on the field.
Additionally, her Elemental Ability scales her damage with Defense, which will allow her to take full advantage of the set’s bonuses. Something that we have to take into account is that when using the elemental, the bonuses that we accumulate after activating it will not be taken into account until we renew it (but since the Albedo Skill cooldown is 4 seconds, it is not a problem at all).
Other characters:
- Noelle : This set pays her a lot because her Elemental Ability increases her damage, shield absorption and healing with respect to Noelle’s Defense and her Ultimate Ability also increases her attack with respect to Defense. The snag is that once Noelle activates her ult her damage doesn’t increase with the charges we get after activating it and with her Elemental Ability we will only deal Geo Damage with the activation and shield break. In short, it is difficult to get loads with Noelle and maintain them.
