Sugar Cane is a quite peculiar crop in Minecraft since it works quite differently from what we are used to in other more “normal” crops (for what is commonly understood as a crop) such as Beets and Potatoes .
The truth is that it is always worth having a few Sugar Canes in your house since they provide us with quite useful things (which we will see below) and that is why today I bring you a guide in which we will see how we can get Sugar Canes, how we can plant them and also all the crafts that involve this crop. Let’s go there!
HOW TO FIND SUGAR CANE IN MINECRAFT
Finding Sugarcane in Minecraft is very simple since it usually appears naturally near water (it will always be attached to a water block), so if you are looking for it, it is a good idea in any type of water formation you have in your world. It is not uncommon for them to appear in these conditions, it should be easy for you to find any of them.
Once you find it, simply hit the cane with your hand to pick it up, my recommendation is that you never take all the cane (it piles up on itself to grow) and always leave the Sugar Cane block at the base so that it is can continue to grow in the future. Keep in mind that we can find canes up to 4 high as long as they have been generated naturally, when you grow them this varies a bit, but we will go into detail below.
In snow biomes it will be much more difficult to find it naturally since it is not very common to find blocks of land attached to water since it freezes and turns into blocks of ice.
HOW TO GROW OR PLANT SUGAR CANE
On this occasion we will not even require a conventional garden since to plant sugar cane we do not need plowed land, anyway I recommend that you also add it to your garden, now I will explain how.
Basically we have to put the Sugar Cane (1 unit will suffice) directly on the Earth with the requirement that it must have a water block adjacent to the land block in which you plant it. I recommend that instead of planting it on the ground, you plant it on Sand; It doesn’t affect anything, but aesthetically it looks better. His thing would be to create a line of land (or sand) and an adjacent water line (in the photos of this post you have examples).
Over time they will grow (you have a photo of the growth above), but clarify that the Sugar Cane that you plant will never grow more than 3 tall, while those naturally generated can reach up to 4.
With regard to its collection, as already mentioned above, never collect what would be the base of the Sugar Cane so that it can continue to grow. Sugarcane has the property that if you pick up a lower block, you will also pick up all the higher ones; the best thing to do is wait for it to grow to 3 tall and pick it from the 2nd block of height for best picking efficiency (always leaving the base unpicked so you don’t have to replant).
THE OPTIMAL PLANTATION
I also leave you what would be the most optimal plantation possible in terms of space and ease of harvesting (in my opinion aesthetically it is better to make the typical line of sand and water, but optimization is the best you can do). Thanks to K for the contribution.
In the photo you can see better what the idea is, as you can see we will make the most of the space and add slabs of the material (a line of 3 of the material that is on the crafting table) that you want on the water blocks so that we do not we fall between we collect. This will also prevent water from freezing in very cold biomes.
WHAT IS SUGAR CANE USED FOR?
These are all the crafts related to Sugar Cane, there are only two, but both are objects that will be quite useful for other crafts.
SUGAR
Sugar is an interesting ingredient since it will be used to create cakes and for some alchemy recipes (potions) .
Creating Sugar with the Sugar Cane couldn’t be easier since it will be enough to put it on the crafting table and that’s it.
PAPER
Paper is an item in Minecraft with many uses such as creating enchantment books , maps, and banners.
To create it you will have to add 3 units of paper horizontally on the center line of the Crafting Table.
And that’s it! Did you know everything about Potatoes in Minecraft ? Do you get Poisonous Potatoes often? How about this tuber as an in-game power source? Leave your comment!
