by The Runic Bear is a boss of the Elden Ring that you probably already know because it is an enemy that we can also find as a common enemy through the Necrolimbo and that is basically the same as those bears (at least the biggest ones).
It is a very mean bear with very powerful attacks and considerable movement speed. It is very easy for it to kill us if we are not very careful, and for this reason I bring you this guide where we will see its location (that of the boss as such, in its common version there are many places) and the best way to defeat this behemoth.
LOCATION: UNDERGROUND CAVE
We will find the Runic Bear in the Weeping Peninsula (which is the area south of Necrolimbo, south of Knight Hound Darriwil ) right in a bonfire called « Underground Cave » that we have marked on the map above. Getting there isn’t much of a mystery, we’ll have to head west when we go over that big bridge with one of those artillery guns shooting at us.
Be careful because a torch will come in handy in this cave because it has several dark areas. Be careful because just entering you will see a very juicy chest that is a trap, if you get close you will fall into the room below where some rats will annihilate you; If you look closely at the ground you will see the brittle part of it so that you surround it and you can take the chest safely. For the rest, this cave has no mystery, it is to go forward and you will end up finding the Runic Bear.
RUNIC BEAR ATTACKS AND STRATEGY
For bears I usually recommend the horse because it helps us to have mobility to hit them (which on horseback are also very powerful) and run away, after all the biggest bears are very dangerous. The thing is that since we are in a cave we will not be able to use the horse and we will have to face him without him and the difference is very noticeable.
A direct confrontation under normal conditions is practically suicide due to his speed, mobility and powerful attacks (with quite a range on top) so on this occasion I highly recommend that you pull Summoning Ashes so that they distract him and you can lower his life. While he is chasing you, you are avoiding him as much as you can and as soon as he turns to go for your Ceniza mates that is when you can hit him more safely. With this strategy it will fall easily, the only thing that can happen is that it annihilates your companions, but if that happens and you have done well, at least it will already have a very low life and will fall quickly.
I used Ancestral Worshiper’s Ashes, which really come in handy (he’s a minotaur archer); You can get them by defeating the Ancient Spirit .
