by Star Eater Narwhal is a Weekly Boss shaped like a giant whale that we can find in the Fontaine region in Genshin Impact . Unlike other Weekly Bosses whose combat consists of two or more phases, in this case the enemy will only have one.
The peculiarity of this enemy is that it has a hostility meter that grows as it receives attacks or as we destroy the vortexes it creates. Once we fill this bar to the maximum, the enemy will engulf us and the combat will move inside its belly.
We can find Narwhal Stareater in the Domain called Extramundane Shadow , which we can find in the Salacian Abyssal Plain, just to the right of the Fontaine Talent Domain (Albuginean Posthumous Glory).
COMBAT AGAINST STAR-EATER NARWHAL AND RECOMMENDED CHARACTERS
As we have already mentioned before, the fight against this enemy consists of a single phase. Narwhal will begin attacking us, trying to crush us as he enters or leaves the battlefield. Because the enemy is constantly moving, it will not be possible to do much damage at the beginning of the fight.
However, as we hit it we can increase its hostility meter, which will make it swallow us to change the location of the combat inside its belly. In this, we will face an enemy called Dark Illusion , which we will have to attack continuously until its resistance bar is exhausted.
It will be very relevant to carry Fontaine characters, since the Pneuma and Ousía energy causes the enemy’s bar to reduce more quickly and can cancel some of their movements. Once we exhaust the bar, we will leave Narval’s stomach and he will remain motionless for a few seconds, in which we will have to attack him with everything we have to defeat him.
For this combat it is highly recommended to take a character from the Fontaine region as your Main DPS , since it will be quite good for us to have a character who can apply Ousía or Pneuma energy to the enemy to break the vortices, so I recommend taking characters like Wriothesley , Fréminet or Lyney .
However, we can continue carrying other Main DPS without problem, such as: Yoimiya , Yanfei , Alhacén , Kaveh , Noelle , Arataki Itto , Kamisato Ayaka , Keching , Razor or Globetrotter . Of course, it is better to avoid taking Hydro characters, since Narwhal Star Eater has a very high resistance against this Element.
If we have not brought a Main DPS that can control Ousía or Pneuma energy, we can take at least some Support like Lynette or Charlotte , even equipping a character with the Cross of the Daffodils Sword to apply this type of energy.
Narwhal’s attacks are quite easy to dodge, but we will have more problems with the Dark Illusion attacks, so we will need to take a Shielder like Zhongli , Layla , Thoma or Kirara , or a Healer that heals constantly like Baizhu , Jean , Kuki Shinobu , Yaoyao or Charlotte herself already mentioned above.
STAR EATER NARWHAL ATTACK GUIDE
These are all the attacks that Star Eater Narwhal can perform:
- Marine Dive : Narwhal will appear in the sky through a type of vortex to cross the battlefield, thus generating area Hydro Damage upon impact. Additionally, once this attack begins, it will cause six explosions that will cause Hydro Damage in several small areas near it.
- Sharp Break : It is the same attack as the previous one, but in reverse. This time Narwhal will emerge from beneath the battlefield and disappear into thin air; We can avoid it by seeing how the ground fragments.
- Starfall : The enemy will begin to create stars in the sky until they form a constellation. After this, small waves will be generated in the water from which a stream will emerge that will generate Hydro Damage in multiple different locations on the battlefield.
- Sucking Vortex : From time to time, a large vortex will be created that will attract us towards it to damage us with an explosion if we do not eliminate it in time. Although we can destroy it with elemental attacks, the simplest thing is to apply Ousía or Pneuma energy to it.
And these are the attacks that the Dark Illusion will perform on us when swallowed by Narwhal:
- Dimensional Slash : The enemy will generate a 180-degree attack that will create a gap in the battlefield for a few brief moments.
- Lightning Bolt : The enemy’s greatsword will hit the battlefield leaving a trail, which will explode after a few moments to generate Electro Damage in the area.
- Flashing Wheel : The Dark Illusion will launch its greatsword in our direction to inflict Electro Damage, its weapon will rotate at high speed to hit us several times if we cross its path
- Electric Storm : Sometimes we can see small purple circles on the battlefield, which will cause a small explosion that will cause Electro Damage after a few moments.
- Summoning Hydromimetic Animals : The enemy will generate a vortex, which will summon enemies that will attack us for a few short seconds if we do not manage to break it in time. These vortexes can only be destroyed through the use of Ousía or Pneuma energy.
