Finally, after the end of the hiatus of the new version of Genshin Impact , we bring you the build of Yelan , who finally makes her long-awaited debut in the game.
He is a character that was highly anticipated by the community, since he has a role very similar to that of our beloved Xingchiu and unfortunately until now there was only one and many times we have wished to have another character who performs a similar function to cover our second team. in the abyss.
Yelan is described by other Liyue characters as a highly intelligent woman who does her job for the Ministry of Civil Affairs diligently (although according to Ganyu, she is hardly ever there); on the other hand, she has an addition for gambling (proof of this is that she wears a dice-shaped pendant and also her Ultimate Ability summons one).
YELAN’S WEAPON AND ELEMENT IN GENSHIN IMPACT
The weapon that Yelan uses is a Bow and as it is common among the users of said weapon, it is more oriented to perform a Support role in the party.
Yelan carries a Hydro vision , an element that is finally gaining new characters and lately it is essential to carry one in our teams; Unfortunately, we hardly have four-star Hydro characters and Yelan has ended up being another five-star that will be difficult to achieve if we do not have enough wishes.
YELAN’S STATS
These would be Yelan’s stats upon reaching level 90:
- Base Health: 14,450
- Base Attack: 244
- Base Defense: 548
- Critical Chance: 24.2%
It has a fairly high Base Health , although it does not excel in this stat if we compare it with Hu Tao or Zhongli. In addition, it must be recognized that his Defense and Base Attack are somewhat low to be a five-star (although really the Attack in the case of Yelan does not matter to us) and he does not have anything that makes him stand out against other characters (although it seems positive to me that when promoted it gains Critical Chance).
TALENTS OR SKILLS
These are all the talents or abilities that Yelan possesses.
NORMAL ATTACK: SNEAKY ARROW
More or less the same as always but with a few minor differences.
- Normal Attack: Perform a combo of up to four normal attacks.
- Charged Attack: Charges an arrow imbuing it with the Hydro Element for a precise shot.
- Descending Attack: Dive attack that deals damage in an area.
- Burst: Within this state Yelan reduces the time it takes to prepare her Charged Attack by 80% and also gains additional damage in proportion to her Max Life (around 20% considering that we have Normal Attacks at level 10); Yelan will enter this state when the team is out of combat for 5 seconds.
ELEMENTAL ABILITY: LIFELINE TETHER
- TOE: 10 seconds.
- Hold Duration: 3 seconds.
Holding down this Elemental Skill will greatly increase Yelan’s speed and also her interrupt resistance ; While using this skill, he will use a Lifeline to mark enemies and after holding down the Elemental Skill, an explosion of Hydro Damage will be generated to each marked enemy.
For each enemy that we mark with the Lifeline Tether we will have a 34% chance that Yelan will enter the Breakthrough state , so if we mark 3 we will be able to safely enter this state.
The damage done by this Elemental Ability is calculated in proportion to Yelan’s Max Life.
ULTI: CLAIRVOYANT DICE
- Energy Cost: 70
- TdE: 18s
- Duration: 15s
Yelan makes an area attack and summons an Intricate Dice that will follow the character in use and execute coordinated attacks when making Normal Attacks or when making explosions with Yelan’s Elemental Ability.
As you can see, this ability is what interests us the most about Yelan (since it will be what allows us to execute powerful Elemental Reactions ) and it is very similar to Xingchiu ‘s , so let’s analyze the differences because:
- Coordinated attacks will pretty much be executed in the same way (except for Yelan’s explosions), which disappoints me a lot, as this makes her not as good of a partner for characters that rely on performing Charged or Falling Attacks ( since it’s similar and five stars, they could have at least made it work this way too).
- Unlike Xingchiu’s ult, the damage of Yelan’s Ultimate is calculated directly from her Max Life, so we won’t be able to increase its damage through Attack buffs such as those provided by Kujou Sara or Bennett, or buffs. of Attack that contribute Ancient Ritual of the Nobility and Tenacity of the Geoarmada.
- In principle, the duration of both abilities would be the same, but Xingchiu’s C2 makes his last 3 seconds longer and in terms of energy cost, Yelan’s is 10 points of Elemental Energy cheaper (but of course, if we have Xingchiu C6, he will recharge part of his ult again with every hit he lands with his Ultimate.)
- Based on the damage stats of both characters, Yelan has a higher damage potential with her Ultimate compared to Xingchiu (not counting teammate buffs and sets).
PASSIVE 1: STRATEGIC CONTROL
It is very similar to one of Yun Jin ‘s passives (but swapping Defense for Life); Depending on the type of different elements that we have in our team , Yelan’s Maximum Life will be increased by 6% / 12% / 18% / 30% respectively .
It’s a great passive that will greatly boost Yelan’s damage, since practically all her abilities except for Normal Attacks (omitting the Breakthrough state) depend directly on her Maximum Life; but at the same time this will limit team building a bit in order to get the most out of it.
PASSIVE 2: MASTER ADAPTATION
While the Intricate Dice is active, the character in use will gain an additional 1% to his damage, this damage buff will increase by 3.5% for each second that passes and can reach a maximum of 50% ; if we reroll the ult while the Intricate Dice is active, we will lose the buff.
This talent is probably the best thing Yelan has, since it will increase our Main DPS by a lot while generating Elemental Reactions with the shots of her Ultimate Ability (wow, that makes Yelan a buff without being one of base).
PASSIVE 3: TACTICAL PLAY
Increases the rewards obtained by doing 20-hour expeditions in Liyue with Yelan.
It’s not that it’s a joy but look, something different from the reduction of time that Keching or Chongyun have .
CONSTELLATIONS
These are all the constellations of Yelan:
- C1 – Anticonspirators Trap : Increases the charges of his Elemental Ability by 1.
- C2 – Mass Imprisonment : When performing a coordinated attack with Yelan’s Ultimate, the die will spawn another additional arrow dealing damage equal to 14% of Yelan’s Max Health (this effect can be triggered once every 1.8 seconds) .
- C3 -Gimmicked Dice : Increases the talent of «Clairvoyant Dice» (Ultimate Ability) by 3 levels, it can be increased up to 15 levels.
- C4 – Covert Exchange : For each enemy we mark with Yelan’s Elemental Ability we will increase the group’s Max Life by 10% for 25 seconds upon explosion (Life can only be increased by a maximum of 40% this way).
- C5 – Dealer’s Artifice : Increases the talent “Lifeline Tether” (Elemental Skill) by 3 levels, can be increased up to 15 levels.
- C6 – Winning Hand : After using the Ultimate Ability, Yelan enters the Tactical Planning state; in this state her Normal Attacks are considered in damage as if they were Charged Attacks and will inflict 156% of their original damage (this state lasts for 20 seconds and will disappear when Yelan has fired 5 arrows).
Mainly I see the second constellation as very key and especially the fourth, since the latter can increase Yelan’s damage in a very beastly way and also that of characters like Hu Tao, Zhongli and even Ayato (although the latter a little less). The rest of the constellations are not bad but they are not that interesting either.
BEST BUILD FOR YELAN (SUPPORT DPS)
Even though Yelan has the Breakthrough status, I don’t think she has enough potential to be a DPS; however, she has many good points to support our team.
BEST WEAPONS FOR YELAN
Weapon-wise, there are plenty of good options for Yelan:
- Aqua Simulacra ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ : Gives a brutal amount of Critical Damage and because of that this bow has a low Base Attack, but since it barely influences Yelan we don’t care and we can enjoy this secondary stat quietly. In addition, it will increase our Maximum Life by 20% (which translates into more damage) and on top of that it will give us a 20% increase in damage every time we are close to an enemy .
- Elegy of the End ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: It gives us a tremendous amount of Energy Recharge which will make it shine a lot with the set we have chosen for it and will also greatly increase the potential of its Support with the passive skills of this weapon that It provides very interesting bonuses for the whole group.
- Twilight’s Fade ⭐⭐⭐⭐: Weapon given away in 2.7 that comes in handy as it increases his damage on and off the field and also gives him Energy Recharge.
- Favonius Bow ⭐⭐⭐⭐ : Yelan will need a very high amount of Energy Recharge and this bow will help us achieve that goal, it will also create Elemental Particles that will help us recharge the Ultimate Abilities of our team members.
- Last Chord ⭐⭐⭐⭐ : This bow will mainly be used for its Passive Ability, which will provide a tremendous damage increase to Yelan’s Ultimate if we have it at its maximum refinement.
BEST ARTIFACTS
As for stats on artifacts:
- Helmet or Crown : Critical Chance or Critical Damage, always look for the balance between these two statistics.
- Clock : Life %.
- Chalice : Bonus Hydro Damage.
Substats you are looking for:
- Priority: Life %, Critical Damage, Critical Chance and Energy Recharge.
- No Priority: Elemental Mastery.
And as for the Artifact Set :
Emblem of Destiny
- 2 Pieces : +20% Energy Recharge.
- 4 Pieces : Increases the damage of the Ulti by an amount equal to 25% of the Energy Recharge of the character wearing the set, up to a maximum of 75%.
In Yelan we don’t care about Attack at all since her damage will depend practically only on her Life as we have seen, therefore this set would be the best option for her.
Mainly, it will allow us to have Yelan’s Ultimate Ability always ready (which, after all, is what interests us about her, since her Elemental Ability and Normal Attacks are not particularly harmful either) and it is also one of the few sets that They will allow you to increase the damage of your Ultimate Ability (since it is useless to put two Gladiator’s End pieces on it, for example).
Another alternative option that could also be useful for her would be the following:
- 2 Pieces of Tenacity of the Geo-Armada : +20% Life.
In the other two pieces we recommend two options:
- 2 Ancient Nobility Ritual Pieces : +20% damage to Ultimate.
- 2 Pieces of Heart of the Deep : +15% Hydro Damage bonus.
With this combination we would essentially focus on the damage increase of our Ultimate with Nobility and the damage increase to almost his entire set of abilities by increasing his Max Health; If you lack Energy Recharge, you can also replace the two pieces of Ancient Ritual of Nobility with two pieces of Emblem of Destiny.
BEST TEAMMATES
These are the companions that I recommend you take with Yelan:
- Shogun Raiden : He is a character that combines very well with Yelan and her shots together with the slashes of the Shogun’s Ultimate Ability will be a deadly combo (not to mention that Yelan will also increase the damage that the Shogun will inflict even more thanks to his passive talent).
- Hu Tao : Xingchiu already made a good combo with her, with Yelan we will do more or less the same function but if we have her C4 we will increase Hu Tao’s damage in a bestial way due to the increase in Maximum Life.
- Yoimiya : Comes in handy with Yelan, since she’s just hitting with Normal Attacks all the time and Yelan’s Intricate Dice will be shooting all the time to help spawn Vaporized.
- Kazuha : While we can’t increase Yelan’s damage through Attack boosts from Xingchiu or Bennett, we can always use the Elemental Damage Bonus boost our beloved Kazuha gives us with her Elemental Mastery.
- Ayato : I don’t really like to put two Hydros in the same team, but if we have Yelan in her C4 in addition to the damage buff and battery, we would also give her a significant increase in her damage because Ayato is another of the few characters that scale their damage based on their health (the health scaling isn’t as massive as Yelan’s, but that 40% will still be quite noticeable).
