Sampo is a 4-star character from Honkai Star Rail from the Way of Nihility and despite his strange behavior in the game’s story, he is a character who is actually quite good and I recommend him.
His specialty is applying DoTs (damage over time) to enemies to slowly but steadily deplete their health. In addition, he is capable of applying a large number of DoTs to several enemies simultaneously, which is why he is a character that stands out a lot, especially in Multi Target situations (which does not mean that Single Target cannot be used).
In this post we will see as always an analysis of this character and also his best Build , with his best Cones of Light, Artifacts and others. Let’s go there!
ATTRIBUTES OR STATS
These are the Attributes or Stats that Sampo will have at the maximum level:
- HP: 1023
- ATK: 617
- DEF: 396
- SPD: 102
Sampo’s Attributes don’t stand out at all , all of his stats are below average, although at least we have to grant him that his ATK and SPD (what interests him the most) are somewhat higher than the rest; which does not mean that it is still somewhat low.
SAMPO SKILLS
These are all of Sampo’s Skills. The numbers/percentages are what you have at the lowest level:
BASIC ATK: BLINDING BLADES
Deal 50% Wind Damage to a single enemy of your choice.
BASIC SKILL: BOUNCING LOVE
- Basic Skill Point Consumption: 1
Deal 28% Wind Damage to an enemy and after that we will hit 4 more random targets for the same damage.
ULTIMATE ABILITY: SURPRISE GIFT
- Energy Cost: 120
Deals 96% Wind Damage to all enemies and has a 100% chance to apply a Debuff to them that increases their damage over time by 20% for 2 turns.
TALENT: SLICING WIND
65% chance to apply a DoT (Damage Over Time) for 3 turns to enemies you hit. This damage will be 20% Wind Damage and can stack up to 5 times maximum (per enemy).
TECHNIQUE: SHIMMERING GLITTER
Applies blindness to enemies in an area, preventing them from seeing you. When attacking, there is a fixed 100% chance to delay the action of enemies by 25%.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
We can unlock them in the Strokes upon reaching a certain Ascension Level.
- Ascension Level 2 – Trap
- Increases the duration of the talent’s DoT by 1 turn.
- Ascension Tier 4 – Defensive Potion
- When using the Ultimate, Sampo recovers 10 Energy Points.
- Ascension Level 6 – Spicy
- Sampo takes 15% less damage from targets affected by the DoT of his Basic Ability.
EIDOLON
These are the improvements that the character obtains through the Eidolon:
- E1 – Rising Love : You will cause damage 1 more time with the Basic Ability.
- E2 – Contagious Enthusiasm : When removing an enemy affected by the Basic Ability DoT , there is a 100% chance to add one more DoT stack to all enemies .
- E3 – Lots of Money! : +2 levels to Basic Ability and +1 to Basic Attack.
- E4 – How Much Love, How Much Hate : When hitting an enemy with 5 or more stacks of DoT with the Basic Ability, the enemy takes 8% of the total damage of all DoTs .
- E5 – Lots of Money! : +2 levels to Ultimate Ability and +2 to Talent.
- E6 – Increase Expense : Basic Skill DoTs deal 15% more damage.
The truth is that his Eidolons are quite worth it, they are all aimed at increasing the damage of his DoTs.
SAMPO’S BEST BUILD
A quite common and typical Build of the characters of the Way of Nihility; our main focus will be on making sure you can apply your DoTs well .
BEST LIGHT CONES
These are the best Light Cones for Sampo sorted from best to worst (they all come highly recommended anyway) and trying to add both 5-star and 4-star options. Here we will list the effects in Level 1 Overlay.
- In the Name of the World ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: +24% damage to enemies that have a debuff and when using the Basic Ability increases the Effect Hit of said Ability and gains +24% ATK.
- Prey Vision ⭐⭐⭐⭐: +20% Effect Hit and +24% Damage Over Time.
- Good Night, Sleep Well ⭐⭐⭐⭐: +12% damage for each debuff of the enemy you hit. Stacks 3 times.
- Shimmering Determination ⭐⭐⭐⭐: 60% chance on hitting an enemy to reduce their DEF by 12% for 1 turn.
- Calderón ⭐⭐⭐⭐: +16% Rupture Effect and +16% Electrocution Damage (Lightning Rupture) and Weather (Wind Rupture). It also increases the Damage of the DoTs of these elements by 16%.
BEST ARTIFACTS AND ORNAMENTS
We will start with the Artifacts and Ornaments. These are the statistics that we recommend to better apply their DoTs and to boost their damage:
- Torso : Effect hit.
- Legs : SPEED.
- Blueprint Sphere : Wind Damage.
- Binding Rope : Energy / ATK Recovery %.
Substats:
- Effect Hit.
- Prob. CRIT.
- CRIT Damage
- ATK %.
- SPEED
His best Artifact Set:
twilight eagle
- 2 pieces: +10% Wind Damage.
- 4 pieces: Speeds up the user’s action by 25% after using the Ultimate.
Another option would be to put on 2 pieces from this set (the Eagle one) and two from the Gunslinger (for +10% ATK).
Your Best Ornament Set:
Pangalactic Trading Company
- 2 pieces: +10% Effect Hit and increases ATK by 25% of your Effect Hit (max +25% ATK).
The Effect Hit is great for us (it is the attribute that interests us the most) so by the way we will obtain a good additional ATK% through this Set of Ornaments.
