by On this occasion we bring you the Fishing Guide in Fontaine since with the arrival of each new nation in Genshin Impact we will find, as always, new fish, more fishing points and different rewards that can be exchanged in the Fishermen’s Guild of that region.
Something new about Fishing in this region will be the addition of new types of fish such as perch and mecha repair fish; the perch that we will find are brightly colored heart-shaped fish and the mecha-repairers are gear-shaped fish with a very steampunk vibe that is very much in keeping with the region.
Being fish of a different class from the ones we have previously caught, we will need a new type of bait, but don’t worry because we can buy the recipes in the Fishermen’s Guild in exchange for very simple fish that we have already caught before. Of course, we will need to collect typical Fontaine materials to manufacture them.
That being said, we will take a look at the possible rewards that we can obtain through the Fontaine Fishermen’s Guild, the different types of fish that we can find and the fishing spots available in this region.
FONTAINE FISHERMEN’S GUILD
We will find the Fontaine Fishermen’s Guild on the outskirts of the Fontaine Court, specifically in the eastern part of the beach. The NPC in charge of managing this guild is called Delaroche and by talking to her we can exchange the fish we have obtained for the following rewards:
- Tide Piercing Harpoon : A rod that will make it easier for us to fish for Fontaine’s Mechafish (Requires: 20 Basic Function Mecharepairer, 20 Purifying Waters Mecharepairer, 20 Control Mecharepairer and 20 Olalabarda Fish).
- Cinder River Ford : It is a sword that confers a large amount of Energy Recharge, it is great to equip it on characters like Lynette or Hydro Traveler (Requires: 4 Collectible Golden Mecha-Repairer, 10 Heartfin Perch, 10 Emberheart Perch and 12 Olalabarda fish).
- Martens’ Omni-ointment : The object that we will need to refine the Cinder River Ford, we can exchange it up to four times (Requires: 2 Collectibles Mecha-repairer, 5 Heartfin Perch, 5 Emberheart Perch and 6 Olalabarda Fish).
- Mecha-repairer – Demonstration Model : This is a blueprint to be able to manufacture a decoration based on Fontaine’s mechanical fish to decorate our Teapot Relaxer (Requires: 5 Mecha-repairer Purifying Waters and 5 Control Mecha-repairer).
- Citrus Bait Recipe : Allows you to create baits that attract Thorny fish, we will need a Dendrobio and a bird meat (Requires: 3 Medaka).
- Mecha-Repairers Blink Bait Recipe : Allows you to create baits that attract Butterfly fish; This recipe uses a Slime Condensate and a Berry (Requires: 3 Medaka).
- Fishing Stabilizer : Device that helps regulate the tension of the line to make fishing more comfortable (Requires: 3 Medaka).
TYPES OF FONTAINE FISH
In the Fontaine region we can find a total of 9 different fish that are divided into 4 different categories, below we will see what they are and at what time of day we can find them:
MEDAKAS
As always, we will use the Fruity Baits to fish the Medakas.
- Medaka : The most common fish that we can find, we can only fish it during the day and it is the one we will need as a base to be able to buy the rods and bait recipes.
PERCH
In this case we will have to use a bait that we learn to make thanks to the Fontaine Fishermen’s Guild, the Citrus Bait.
- Heartfin Perch : As the name suggests, this fish’s fins make it heart-shaped. We will find the Heartfin Perch at any time of the day, but in some fishing spots it only appears at night.
- Perca Ascuacorazón : It has the same shape as the previous fish but it is orange tones; We can only fish the Heartfin Fish when it is daylight.
PUFFER FISH AND SWORD FISH
To capture this type of fish we will need to use Mana Bait.
- Sandy Globe Fish : We saw this fish for the first time in Sumeru and it has slipped into Fontaine; Its body is round in shape, it has a kind of horn on its head and it is sand colored as its name indicates.
- Olalabarda Fish : A curvilinear shaped fish with a body decorated by various shades of bluish, it is more similar to a butterfly fish, but for some reason it uses the Mana Lure which is only for Puffer Fish or Sword Fish.
MECHA REPAIR FISH
We will need to use a special bait called Blinking Mecha-Repair Bait against this type of mechanical fish.
- Basic Function Mecha-Repairer : A gear-like fish that can spawn anywhere in Fontaine at any time, although in some places like Equinox Mountain – West Slope it only spawns during the day.
- Control Mecha Repairer : Very similar to the previous fish, but the color of its gear is a lighter shade; The Control Mechanic will only spawn if it’s night.
- Purificaaguas Mecha-repairer : The gear of this fish is of a rather golden tone and unlike the previous mecha-repairer, it can only appear during the day.
- Collectible Golden Mecarrepairer : This is the most special fish that we will find in Fontaine and it will only appear at the Equinox Mountain – West Slope fishing point.
FISHING SPOTS IN FONTAINE
Throughout Fontaine we have a total of 8 fishing spots at the moment, let’s see the places where we can catch these fish to exchange them in the Fishermen’s Guild.
FONTAINE’S COURT
This fishing spot is located in the same location as the Fontaine Fishermen’s Guild, just outside the Fontaine Court on the eastern part of the beach. At this point we can find the following fish:
- Olalabarda fish.
- Heartfin Perch.
- Emberheart Perch.
- Water Purifying Mecharepairer.
- Control Mecha Repairer.
If we fish at this point, the NPC in charge of fishing will ask us to help her fish and if we agree to it and complete this side quest, we will earn 20 Protogems for helping her.
FONTANA LUCINE – WEST COAST
The second fishing point is near the Fontana Lucine, we will find it specifically on the West Coast that is to the left of the World Boss called Criocéfiro Suite.

FISHING BOAT IN THE SEA
To get to this fishing point we can use the underwater teleportation point that is in the sea between the Court of Fontaine and the Opera of the Epiclesis to go up to the surface to look for a fishing boat in which we can get on to catch the fish from this point.

EQUINOX MOUNTAIN – WEST SLOPE
This fishing point is located in the western part of Equinox Mountain and is one of the most important fishing points, since it is the only place where we can fish for the Collectible Golden Mecha- repairer .

ELYNAS – SOUTHERN SLOPE
To access this fishing point we just have to go to the teleportation point located southwest of Elynas and descend to the mouth of the waterfall.

ELYNAS – NORTH EAST COAST
Another of the fishing spots that we have in the Elynas area is located just to the west of the dragon’s head.

ELYNAS – EAST COAST

This is the typical fishing point that we always have on the docks on the outskirts of the city, but in this case it will be better to go to this fishing point from the nearest underwater teleportation point.
