Elden Ring , the new effort by FromSoftware is on everyone’s lips: partly because the title came out in a historical moment in which the videogame landscape is bare of great releases, another bit because in fact the genuineness (and the immensity) of this work is palpable from the early stages of the game although it is not easy to play without the appropriate Smithing Stones , essential for the upgrade of weapons.
Although the title can be quite difficult and the words “you are dead” will often appear on your screen, know that in Elden Ring (by the way: we recommend our review in case you are still skeptical about the potential of the game) there are several Smithing Stones which will allow you to upgrade your weapons.
Upgrading your weapons, be it these mighty swords, incredible colossal axes, daggers, halberds or spell sticks will allow you to play the game more lightly, not only by inflicting extra damage but also by enhancing your effective defense in the game or giving you access to powers hidden in the weapon itself.
The customizations are almost infinite and you can face your very personal adventure in the way that suits you best but to do so we invite you to follow this guide, to avoid going crazy in the spasmodic search for the aforementioned Forging Stones which are divided into normal and Funeral, this’ latest dedicated to special or legendary weapons.
How to get the Smithing Stones
To obtain a continuous way over time, which is precisely lasting, it will take you a few hours at the beginning of the campaign. You tend to do the real “hard work” by defeating the first boss in history, located in Stormveil Castle . Once you have defeated the first great enemy, the way to the castle will open for you which, although it also contains the second boss of the story, you can go around quietly and head, riding like madmen at the Grace of the Crystal Gallery of Raya Lucaria : in this place you will find several enemies miners who will give you access to numerous Smithing Stones , both normal and funeral, while at the end of this mini-dungeon you will find a boss called Crystallizer; the boss tends to attack you from a distance, sending you discs that return to his hands , keep in mind that he has a lot of health and that a defensive approach style will allow you to get the better of and get an object called the Resonance Stone .
At this point, all you have to do is go to the Round Table , that ancestral place where there are several NPCs including dealer D. Donate the Resonance to D and you will get the chance to purchase level 1 and 2 Smithing Stones by spending precious Runes. There is no limit to the purchase of these stones from the dealer . Consider that in the game it is possible to find all the other stones, from time to time you will find them in dungeons or hidden in statues: to get them you will need the help of the enemies that you will have to use to break the statues by acting as bait .
By defeating different bosses in the dungeons it is also possible to find all the Resonance Stones that will give you access to all the Smithing Stones always at the dealer at the Round Table.
How to get Funeral Forging Stones
These stones, unlike the “sisters” mentioned above, will be rarer, at least those ranging from level five to level ten. The legendary or special weapons of the game, which can be upgraded through these stones, will reach level 10 and you will need a high enough amount to climb each level: in short, it will not be a one-to-one ratio, or for example, to move up from level +4 at level +5 you will need 2 Funeral Forging Stones [5] number placed in brackets also in the game to identify the level of the stone in question.
Although there is no specific spot for the farming of these stones, unlike the others that are found throughout the game, once you pass the Raya Lucaria lake you will certainly come across another point of Grace , called West Liurnia : pass some ruins infested with undead wizards and you will find another point of Grace called Road to the Manor and here you will find a huge giant.
The giant blacksmith is called Iji and although it may appear threatening it will be extremely useful as it is able not only to upgrade your equipment, to give you useful information about the missions you are following but also to sell you the much sought-after Funeral Forging Stones of level [1] up to level [4] . This will allow you to try out many legendary weapons in the best possible way, of course, as long as you have enough Runes from time to time to buy the Stones from the dealer and then carry out (always paying) the necessary upgrade.
