A Plague Tale: Requiem – Where to find the windmills

In Chapter 9 “Tales and Revelations” you get to know the Count and his wife on their island. After showing Amicia and Hugo their property, you can stay with them. The next day, the siblings explore the island and meet Sophia again.

Outside the Manor, run down the street until Hugo notices a bird statue . The real task in this chapter is to follow the bird statutes along the way. In order to solve the windmill puzzle, you have to make a small detour.

Follow the road until you come across a bridge. Shortly thereafter, stone stairs lead to some rocks on the right and behind them you can see four huge windmills.

Where can I find the secret smuggler hideout?

Behind the windmills, a hill leads to several unnatural stone arches . Run through and turn right. There you will see a ladder that leads to a secret tunnel. At the end you will reach a rock face with a picture of a windmill scrawled on it.

In which order do I have to switch the windmills?

In order for the rock wall in the cave to open and for you to be able to enter the secret smuggler’s hideout, you have to turn on the windmills in a certain order . If you stand in front of the mills, the two on the left must rotate and the two on the right must stand still. In order to activate or stop the respective mechanism in the windmills, you have to break into the mills.

Entering Windmills: How do I get inside?

Windmill number 1: Turn off

Three out of four windmills are locked and cannot be easily entered through the main entrance. Only the door of the first windmill is open . Go inside, run up the stairs and you will reach the big switch that turns the windmill on and off.
