IS "PREY VISION" WORTH IT ON HONKAI STAR RAIL?

IS “PREY VISION” WORTH IT ON HONKAI STAR RAIL?

Prey Vision is a 4-star Honkai Star Rail Cone of Light for characters on the Way of Nihility. The Cone is actually quite good, but it is true that it is intended for a certain niche of characters in this way: The DoTers .

In case you’re unfamiliar with the term DoTer (I’m not even sure if it’s a standardized term, but I called them that), it’s a character whose specialty is applying DoTs ( Damage over Time ). A clear example of this would be the Affliction Warlock from World of Warcraft (it’s been quite a few years since I left that thing, specifically when Pandaria ended).

In general, the characters of Nihility dedicate themselves more to reducing the attributes of the characters ( Debuffers ), but there are some that dedicate themselves to depleting the health of the enemies based on a lot of Damage over Time, with which we could say that They are a little more DPS oriented than the others (which is not the case either because there are characters that, even dedicating themselves more to reducing statistics, have very good damage, Welt or Silver Wolf would be 2 great examples).

But nothing, the case, we are going to see in depth what this cone contributes and after this we will see, as always, the best characters to whom you can equip it.

“PREY VISION” ATTRIBUTES OR STATS

Let’s start looking at its basic attributes , keep in mind that we will give you the data it has at level 80 (the maximum):

  • HP : 952
  • ATK : 476
  • DEF : 330

Now we go with the passive, which is what really interests us:

  • S1: +20% Effect Hit and +24% DoT Damage (damage over time).
  • S5: +40% Effect Hit and +48% DoT Damage.

As I’ve mentioned like 800 times already, Effect Hit is a must-have attribute for Nihility characters as it increases the chance to apply Debuffs to enemies ( DoTs count as a Debuff ), so we’re off to a pretty good start.

But… as you can see, “the other thing” that “Vision of Prey” gives us is a fairly noticeable increase in damage (especially in S5) to DoTs, which is why I told you that it is a specialized cone for DoTers . If your character is not specialized in this type of damage, do not equip it (even if you are interested in the Effect Hit) since for that it is better to equip him with something that takes advantage of 100%, which by options will not be.

WHICH CHARACTER TO EQUIP IT TO?

As already mentioned, to those characters specialized in the year through the application of DoTs and of course they are from the Path of Nihility. It is true that when performing a Weakness Break all the characters apply a DoT (except Imaginary), but it is not worth equipping it if we are going to take advantage of only that, so we look for   real DoTers . They would be the following characters:

Sampo on Honkai Star Rail

No one will be surprised that Sampo appears on this list because it is no coincidence that he is the character that appears in the illustration of the Cone of Light. And it is that Sampo is a character specialized in the application of Wind Damage DoTs , in fact he is a character who applies many DoTs and who can also apply them in an area, so he will take advantage of the cone very well and is undoubtedly one of his better options. Also, the Cone of Light is a 2 × 1 for him: Greater precision applying his DoTs and also greater damage, something that will also apply to other DoTers .

Kafka , despite being a character that we still don’t have available today (in theory I think it’s coming out for 1.2), is a character that we’ve already seen in her skill kit at the start of the game and you probably remember that she also applied many DoTs, although in his case electric. That means Prey Vision will be one of her 4-star Cone of Light options, so if you’re one of the many who want to go for her, you know.

Facing other characters that can take advantage of it, although a little less, the truth is that I would tell you that in this case it is better to equip it only to the characters that we have already mentioned above. So this time we will avoid the section of “other characters who take advantage of it, although less”.
