by « Before the Tutorial Mission Begins » is a 4-star Cone of Light from Honkai Star Rail (you know they give Cones a little weird names) available during a version 1.1 event and the truth is which is not bad.
This is a Cone of Light for characters from the Path of Nihility that seems decent to me. It’s not a panacea, but since it’s free… well, it’s not that bad. It is not the typical Cone that only works on one character, but it is not the typical one that you can equip to practically all the characters of the Way.
In this case, it is a very good option for those characters that apply Defense reduction debuffs , so you most likely already have in mind some other character that can come in handy.
ATTRIBUTES OR STATS OF “BEFORE THE TUTORIAL MISSION BEGINS”
Let’s start looking at its basic attributes, keep in mind that we will give you the data it has at level 80 (the maximum):
- HP : 953
- ATK : 476
- DEF : 331
Now we go with the passive, which is what really interests us (taking into account that we do not make any Overlay, that is, in S1):
- +20% Effect Hit and the user generates 4 energy points when attacking an enemy that has a Defense reduction debuff applied.
As you can see, it is a passive with a very simple effect, so it will not be necessary to give great explanations about it and it is not bad at all, especially for Nihility characters who apply Defense reductions; anyway below we will talk more about recommended characters and so on.
The Effect Hit is probably the most necessary statistic for practically any Nihility character since the probability that we apply debuffs to enemies will depend on it (which in the end is its main function) to combat a little the fact that the enemies have Effect Resistance.
Regarding the additional energy for enemies with a Defense debuff , it is quite good as long as we meet that condition of course, in the end all the characters benefit from a better energy generation and the characters from the path of Nihility do not they would be less.
WHICH CHARACTER DO I EQUIP IT TO?
As we have already been commenting during the analysis of the Cone of Light, the ideal would be to put it on characters that apply Defense reduction debuffs , the Effect Hit is good for all the characters on this route but anyway, what if they take away the other part of the passive because it stays in a somewhat loose Cone. Total, these are the characters that will get the most out of it:
When we talk about Defense reductions we can’t think of anyone better than Pela since she is a character who is specialized precisely in that, so I don’t think any character will take as much advantage of her as she does and she is the first character to what you should think Another 4-star Cone that comes in handy is “Good Night Sleep Well.”
Silver Wolf is another great candidate, for a reason he appears in the Cone of Light photo since he is also a character who appliesDefense reduction debuffs , although it is true that not with the same mastery as Pela since he is not a character specialized in it. Which of course does not mean that Silver Wolf has other tools that make it stand out from Pela in other aspects.
Either way, it’s a very good 4-star Cone of Light for her if you don’t have Endless Rain (her 5-star Cone of Light, which is obviously much better, but anyway, this is a gacha and you have to do what you can).
Regarding the section that I always add at the end of this type of “other recommended characters” guides, in which I list characters that are an option even if they don’t fit as well as the ones above… well, in this case they really not worth it; It could be worn by a character that doesn’t apply Defense reductions simply to take advantage of the Effect Hit, but for that you equip him with something else that can take full advantage of it such as the Cone of Light from «Shimmering Determination » .
