GUIDE TO BOTANICAL HORROR IN SEA OF STARS

The Botanical Horror  is the eighth boss of Sea of Stars and is a type of very ugly bug with plant-like tentacles. Despite his somewhat intimidating appearance, the truth is that in the end he turns out to be a pretty simple boss.

I must say that I was a little disappointed with the boss because I had high expectations for this new area of the game (this mansion and such). The fact that this area feels so dangerous made me think that now we would finally have real bosses (in terms of difficulty I mean), but that was not the case in the end. We will have to wait to see if the next one is like this, which seems to be in this same area.

I wouldn’t say that he is an easy boss either, but if you know how you have to act against him, it is quite simple. But my dramas aside (what are we going to do, I like challenging bosses and it already seems that Sea of Stars is not going to meet my expectations in that sense, but anyway), let’s go with the guide of this boss .

HOW TO DEFEAT BOTANICAL HORROR IN SEA OF STARS

We will do the usual thing in the boss guides that I am doing for this game, first we will see their attacks in detail and after that some tips to make the battle easier.

ATTACK GUIDE

At the outset, mention that the boss, despite being a single entity, is made up of several parts:

  • Botanical Horror : What would be the boss itself, the central part.
  • Interior Flower : The front tentacles, it has one on the right and one on the left.
  • Upper Flower : The rear tentacles, it has one on each side as well.

Attack of the two «Superior Flower»:

  • Pen Shooter (locks) : I have always called these attacks “avoidable attacks”, from now on we will call them lock attacks because it is much more precise. You already know how they work by now, you must hit the locks with the types of damage they show us; Remember that if you can’t do it in time, you should at least try to remove as many locks as you can to reduce the damage of the attack. The attack in question is a throw of spikes from the ceiling in two rounds at a random character (the first spikes may fall on one character and the second on another); You must block just before they are going to fall on you. Be careful because if you don’t remove enough locks, this causes a lot of damage.

Attack of the two «Inner Flower»:

  • Underground tentacle : The tentacle will sink into the ground and shortly after emerge at the location of one of our characters (only one) to cause damage. You need to block a bit after the boss sinks the tentacle into the ground.

“Botanical Horror” attacks:

  • The Botanical Horror does not attack itself, all it does is try to revive all of its tentacles when it has run out.

TIPS FOR BATTLE

Our task is to eliminate all the boss’s tentacles and when we have eliminated each of them, that is when we will focus on attacking the boss with everything we have (especially with the types of damage that appear in the locks on the rear tentacles). To do this you must use area attacks and they will fall quite quickly:

  • Lunerang of Valere.
  • Zale Run Attack.
  • Seraï’s Windy Gust (it suits us much better than Garl). Of course, don’t consume too many MP with her because you want to be able to perform a Disorientation when we are alone against the boss.

When we are alone with the boss, it is necessary to hit him with everything you have and above all it is very important to hit him with a “Disorientation” from Seraï to get more turns in this phase.

Lunerang is great in this phase because we will have a great distance to make it easier to deliver many hits and since we are only against a single target, we will be able to cause a lot of damage. Zale’s Solar Sphere always causes havoc… but what I highly recommend if you have enough Combo Points in this phase, the “X Cut” skill, costs 2 Combo points, but you will cause a lot of damage with it and you will not spend P.M.

If you need to heal at some point, it is best to do it when there are few tentacles on the field using Restorative Light (only in a pinch, it is better to invest the Combo Points in the offensive) or if you do not need so much healing for the entire group, then you roll of a healing item or ultimately Zale’s cure (you don’t want to spend his MP on cures, that’s why I say ultimately).

You will most likely defeat him in the second round in which you are alone against the boss without tentacles.

REWARDS

This is what we will get when we defeat him:

  • A Pat on the Back : Well yes, he is another of those bosses in which they give us nothing, life.
