by Yun Jin is a Genshin Impact character belonging to Liyue. She is a renowned opera singer with an elegant and exquisite style, but don’t make the mistake of underestimating her for it (she can be a very useful character).
Mainly, its function is Support and it will increase the damage of the Normal Attacks of our main DPS; the pity is that this increase does not apply to Charge Attacks or Down Attacks, so it will greatly limit the characters that can enjoy this bonus.
YUN JIN’S WEAPON AND ELEMENT
Yun Jin carries a spear , a weapon that is becoming too heavy for me because there are too many spearmen in Genshin Impact already. It is true that for my taste it is one of the best weapons and has many of the best characters in the game; but having so many spearmen I can’t cope with the number of spears and I have to rotate weapons all the time, so I would prefer that I had another weapon.
He has a vision of the Geo Element , an element that is improving a lot lately in Genshin Impact thanks to the Opulent Dreams Shell set and the large number of Geo characters that are coming out and the synergy they form between them.
YUN JIN’S STATS
Yun Jin’s stats are fairly balanced and stand out favorably:
- Base Health: 10,657
- Base Attack: 191
- Base Defense: 734
- Energy Recharge: 26.7%
His Base Attack leaves a bit to be desired, but on the other hand he has a Base Defense that is not bad at all (although for example Xinyan surpasses it).
On the other hand, when ascending, he gives us Energy Recharge, which is not the best in the world nor does it give him anything in relation to his abilities, but on the other hand, it is not bad at all because in the case of Yun Jin it is very important to recharge the last quickly.
TALENTS OR SKILLS
Let’s take a look at your talents or abilities.
NORMAL ATTACK: CARESS OF THE CLOUDS
It’s the same as always, but at the end of the sequence of blows Yun Jin strikes one of his theatrical poses.
- Normal Attack: Make a succession of up to five fast attacks.
- Charged Attack: Yun Jin charges his way forward with his spear at an opponent.
- Descending Attack: The same as always that deals damage in an area on impact.
ELEMENTAL ABILITY: NIMBUS DISPELLER
- TdE: 9 sec.
When using this ability Yun Jin creates a shield (which only lasts as long as we keep the ability pressed) that absorbs damage based on his Maximum Life; After releasing the skill or when the shield is broken, Yun Jin will execute a Geo Damage attack.
We can simply click on this elemental and activate it, accumulate a charge or accumulate two, which would be the maximum charge for this ability. The damage of said skill scales directly with his defense, let’s see an example assuming that Yun Jin has the talent of his Elemental Skill raised to 8:
- Damage when pressing : 238.59% of the Defense.
- Damage with a charge : 417.54% of the Defense.
- Damage with two charges : 596.48% of Defense.
Having seen all this, you will realize that it is a kind of parry and is very similar to Beidou ‘s Elemental Ability . Shield and damage absorption work the same way, but Beidou scales its damage by the hits he takes while Yun Jin pulls Defense from him to deal damage from him.
ULTI: ROCKBREAKER BANNER

Upon casting the Ultimate Ability, Yun Jin deals Geo Damage in an area and grants the team (in online mode you must be near Yun Jin for it to be applied) the Pennants of the Clouds .
Cloud Pennants increase the damage of team members’ basics in correlation to Yun Jin’s Defense; This effect lasts for 12 seconds or until all 30 charges run out (charges are not only lost by numbers of hits, they also take into account the number of enemies you hit).
PASSIVE 1: TRUE TO HERSELF
If Yun Jin uses his Elemental Skill right at the moment he gets hit, the skill will hit with the force of two charges.
This talent does not have much mystery, it saves us a little time if we are good at parrying.
PASSIVE 2: CONVENTION REJECTION
The more elemental types we have on our team, when Yun Jin casts his Ultimate, he will further increase the damage of Normal Attacks in proportion to Yun Jin’s Defense.

This is an interesting talent, but at the same time it deprives us of having Elemental Consonances as valuable as Pyro or Cryo if we want to get the maximum bonus possible, so maybe I would stick to 3 different types.
PASSIVE 3: LIGHT FEED
If when cooking we get a “Perfect” on a dish with help effects in the adventure (consume less stamina and things like that), there is a 12% chance of getting double.
The truth is that this passive is already a bit hackneyed, there are several characters that have it like Jean , Barbara or Xiangling and I think that no more is needed.
CONSTELLATIONS
These are all the advantages offered by Yun Jin constellations:
- C1 – Dramatic Gallop : Reduces Elemental Skill cooldown by 18% (somewhat similar to Ayaka ‘s C1 ). Since the TOE of his Elemental Ability is 9 seconds, it would reduce us by about 1.62 seconds (wow, that’s not a big deal either).
- C2 – Props : When using the ult, the damage of the Normal Attacks of the team members is increased by 15% for 12 seconds; This constellation seems very key to me when using Yun Jin.
- C3 – Maritime Flag : Increases Ultimate Ability by 3 levels, can be increased up to 15 levels.
- C4 – War Pose : When Yun Jin performs the Crystallization reaction, his Defense will increase by 20% for 12 seconds (which precisely coincides with the duration of the last).
- C5 – International Fame : Increases Elemental Skill by 3 levels, can be increased up to 15 levels.
- C6 – Harmony and Decorum : Increases the Normal Attack Speed of characters under the effect of the Pennants of the Clouds by 12%, it is great for characters with Claymore that you already know are somewhat slow hitting.
Honestly, I didn’t expect that the constellations would bring so much help to the team and they seem pretty good to me, I would definitely try to reach at least the fourth constellation to increase the support that Yun Jin gives us.
THE BEST BUILD FOR YUN JIN (SUPPORT)
Removing his Elemental Ability, Yun Jin is based on increasing the damage of a Main DPS’s basics. It is true that she could use it to her own advantage and try to take her out of DPS with the Crescent Moon Pike weapon, but there are characters that can shine more than Yun Jin in this regard.
BEST WEAPONS FOR YUN JIN
These are the weapons that I recommend for Yun Jin:
- Homa Staff ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: I recommend it in case Yun Jin takes one or more Geo characters that supply the energy recharge; Homa is a tremendous spear as you already know and Yun Jin will also take advantage of the increase in Life that this spear provides for the absorption of damage from his shield.
- The Capture ⭐⭐⭐⭐: If we take Yun Jin in a team of different elements we will need to make up for the lack of Energy Recharge, something in which this spear stands out a lot and will also increase the damage of the last one (and the best thing is free).
- Spear of Favonius ⭐⭐⭐⭐: This spear will help us recharge both Yun Jin and his companions, but we will need Yun Jin to have a high Critical Chance (and several refinements of this spear, or it won’t be worth it).
If I’m really honest, although I can take advantage of these weapons, they don’t completely convince me for it (but for now it is what it is).
BEST ARTIFACTS
As for stats on artifacts:
- Helmet or Crown : Critical Chance, Critical Damage.
- Clock : Defense % or Energy Recharge (if you see that you recharge very badly).
- Chalice : Bonus Geo Damage or Defense %.
Another option is to go for all Defense items to just leave it as a buffer and just focus on support.
Substats you are looking for:
- Priority: Critical Chance, Critical Damage, Defense %, Energy Recharge.
- No Priority: Life %.
And as for the Artifact Set:
- Shell of Opulent Dreams : With the two pieces of this set we will obtain 30% Defense and I would not equip the full set because Yun Jin is never imbued with the Geo Element or has resonances like Zhongli with his pillar or Albedo with his flower (so better to take only two).
Even so, I see it as very necessary to carry both pieces (since in the case of Yun Jin almost everything scales with respect to his Defense). Regarding the other two pieces I would recommend:
- Emblem of Destiny : If you don’t have enough Energy Recharge with Yun Jin, you will need this set that will add 20% to said stat.
- Archaic Petra : The two pieces will give us a +15% Geo Damage Bonus that will not hurt us.
- Heart of the Guardian : They give us the same as the two pieces of Shell of Opulent Dreams (this is if we just want it to be buffer and that’s it), the bad thing is that this set is four stars (so to not lose much, look for as long as it’s the flower and the feather if you choose this set).
- Archaic Petra : The two pieces will give us +15% Geo Damage Bonus and the four pieces can come in handy especially if we have Yun Jin in his C4 (the C4 will make up for a bit of the lack of Defense by putting this set on him) .
With the four pieces of Archaic Petra we will obtain a 35% Elemental Damage Bonus when obtaining a crystal by performing the Crystallization reaction (the bonus will be from the element that causes the reaction). I see this build very well to lead a team with 2 Geo characters and 2 Pyro characters, we will get powerful elemental damage bonuses for the Pyro characters and we will have two of the best consonances in the game.
- Ancient Ritual of Nobility : The two pieces of Nobility will increase the damage of the Ultimate Ability by 20% and the four pieces will increase the Attack of all team members by 20% for 12 seconds.
If you don’t have any characters with this set in your team, it’s not a bad option for Yun Jin, but I find the previous sets better (especially since hardly anyone takes advantage of the four pieces of Archaic Petra).
BEST TEAMMATES
These are some of the characters that have the best synergy with Yun Jin:
- Gorou : It comes in handy for Yun Jin, since it will increase his Defense with his Ulti and with his Elemental Skill. Which will make Yun Jin herself make a bigger boost to our team.
- Albedo : It is the quintessential battery in a Geo team and it will come in handy to help recharge Yun Jin’s Ulti.
- Arataki Itto : Even though Itto is normally charged, we need to hit several Normal Attacks to perform the Kesagiri Sword hits; this way you can take advantage of the bonus that Yun Jin brings.
- Noelle : If we take Noelle as our main DPS we will be doing Normal Attacks all the time, so she is one of the characters that will best take advantage of supporting Yun Jin.
- Yoimiya : He is a character whose entire set is based on Normal Attacks, for which Yun Jin’s bonuses will come in handy.
- Eula – Normal Attacks are very much tied to characters going Physical Damage and in this case Eula is always hitting with her basics, which makes her another good option for Yun Jin.
- Razor : Like Eula, Razor is always making Normal Attacks and does a lot of Physical Damage (plus he’s an easier character to get than her).
