Yukong is the first four-star Imaginary Element character on Honkai Star Rail ; which will make it easier to obtain a character of this highly valued element, since until now there were only five-star characters of said element and Imaginary Weakness Breaks cause both a reduction in SPD and a delay in the actions of the enemies.
This character belongs to the Way of Harmony and stands out for giving exaggeratedly high buffs to ATK, CRIT Damage and CRIT Chance through the use of his Basic and Ultimate Abilities (even at level 1 of his traces the boost is enormous). Another aspect that makes this character stand out is that thanks to his Talent, his Basic Attacks are very good at lowering the strength bar of the enemies he hits with these types of attacks.
The downside of this character is that the bonuses it grants have a very short duration, since only the two characters that act after Yukong’s turn will benefit from its effects. Therefore, we have to adapt the SPD of the entire team so that Yukong is the character with the highest SPD and that Abundance or Conservation are the characters with the lowest SPD on the team, since we generally don’t care if these characters receive the ATK bonus.
In this post we will see a complete analysis of this character and of course his best Builds , Cones of Light, Artifacts, Ornaments and others. Let’s go there!
ATTRIBUTES OR STATS
These are the Attributes or Stats that Yukong will have at the maximum level:
- HP: 917
- ATK: 599
- DEF: 374
- SPD: 107
Their HPs are a bit low, as is often the case with characters belonging to the Way of Harmony. However, he does have a good balance in both his Base ATK and SPD (although he doesn’t really excel in either of these two stats).
YUKONG SKILLS
These are all of Yukong’s Skills. The numbers/percentages are what you have at the lowest level:
BASIC ATK: ARROW LAUNCHER
Deal 50% Imaginary Damage to a single enemy of your choice.
BASIC ABILITY: ENCOURAGING VOLLEY
- Basic Skill Point Consumption: 1
Upon casting this Basic Ability, Yukong will gain 2 charges of the effect called Wind Sound . As long as she maintains at least one charge of this effect, she will increase the ATK% of all party members by 40%.
This is an ability that gives us a very important buff to ATK%, but the drawback of this bonus is that every time a character’s turn passes, we will lose a charge of this effect (in other words, this increase in ATK % we can only take advantage of it during two attacks).
At least when Yukong’s turn is over after using his Basic Ability, we won’t lose any String Sound stacks.
ULTIMATE ABILITY: SWOOPING KESTREL
- Energy Cost: 130
Deals Imaginary Damage to a single enemy proportional to 228% of its ATK. If Yukong has charges of his Basic Ability’s effects when executing this Ultimate, all allies will gain 21% CRIT Chance and 39% CRIT Damage.
As you can see, it is crucial to use the Ultimate Ability after having used the Basic Ability , because if Yukong is not under the effects of it, we will lose a tremendous Critical Damage and Critical Chance buff .
TALENT: AN ARROW FOR SEVEN LAYERS
+40% additional Imaginary Damage to Yukong’s Normal Attacks. In addition, the damage to the stamina bar of the enemy hit by the Normal Attack will be increased by 100% (this effect can be used again after one turn).
This Talent will allow us to do more damage with Yukong’s Normal Attacks and lower the strength bar of the enemies with double the effectiveness, which will be great for us to inflict Imaginary Weakness Breaks , one of the best in the entire game for reducing the SPD of the enemies and delay their actions.
TECHNIQUE: CHASING THE WIND
When using this Technique, Yukong enters sprint mode for 20 seconds and increases his Movement Speed by 35%. Also, upon entering combat he will automatically gain two charges of the effect produced by his Basic Ability.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
We can unlock them in the Strokes upon reaching a certain Ascension Level.
- Ascension Tier 2 – Courteous Archer
- Yukong can herself block a debuff when it is applied to her, but this can only happen once every 2 turns.
- Ascension Tier 4 – Legacy Arc
- If Yukong is on the team, all party members gain +12% Bonus Imaginary Damage.
- Ascension Level 6 – Noble Bearing
- As long as Yukong has charges from his Basic Ability effect, he will gain 2 energy points each time an ally acts.
EIDOLON
These are the improvements that the character obtains through the Eidolon:
- E1 – Winged Scout : +10% SPD for all allies for the first 2 turns of starting a battle.
- E2 – Order of the Firmament : Every time a character refills the energy needed to cast his Ultimate Ability, Yukong will gain 5 energy points (once for each allied character). If Yukong uses his Ultimate Ability, the effect resets and we can get energy this way again.
- E3 – Torrential Discharge : +2 levels to Basic Ability and +1 to Basic Attack.
- E4 – Echoes of the Zephyr : +30% to the damage Yukong deals while he has any charge from the Basic Ability effect.
- E5 – Quick and Accurate : +2 levels to Ultimate Ability and Talent.
- E6 – Strong Bow : When using Yukong’s Ultimate Ability, it will receive a charge from the Basic Ability’s effect.
They don’t seem like very good Eidolons to me, but they aren’t completely bad either. The most interesting is the E2 that will help us get energy to be able to launch his Ultimate Ability, since it is very expensive; E6 is also very relevant, which will allow us to get another charge of the Basic Ability effect to be able to maintain the ATK buff provided by this character for one more turn.
YUKONG’S BEST BUILD
In the case of Yukong, we will be looking for a Cone of Light and an Ornament Set that will allow us to best support his team. As there are currently no artifacts that increase its potential as a buffer , the rest of the build will be aimed at increasing its damage as Support DPS .
BEST LIGHT CONES
These are the best Light Cones for Yukong sorted from best to worst (they all come highly recommended anyway) and trying to add both 5-star and 4-star options. Here we will list the effects in Level 1 Overlay.
- The Battle Is Not Over ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: +10% Energy Recovery. When casting the Ultimate Ability we will recover a point of Basic Ability (this effect can be activated after using the Ultimate Ability 2 times) and when the user of this cone uses his Basic Ability, it will increase the damage of the next ally that acts by 30% for 1 turn.
- Sculpt the Moon and Weave the Clouds ⭐⭐⭐⭐: At the start of the battle and at the beginning of the turn of the bearer of this Cone of Light, one of the following random effects will be activated to buff the group (these effects are not cumulative and will change each time the turn of the user of this Cone of Light arrives):
- +10% ATK.
- +12% CRIT Damage.
- +6% energy recovery.
- The Past and Future ⭐⭐⭐⭐: Increases the damage dealt by the next attacking character (except the character with this cone equipped) by 16% when the user of this Cone of Light executes their Basic Ability.
- To dance! ⭐⭐⭐⭐: Advances the action of all allies by 16% when using the Ultimate Ability.
- Planetary Encounter ⭐⭐⭐⭐: When a character deals Elemental Damage of the same type as the bearer of this Cone of Light, the damage dealt is increased by 12%.
BEST ARTIFACTS AND ORNAMENTS
We will start with the Artifacts and Ornaments. These are the statistics that we recommend for each piece to increase the damage of their attacks.
- Torso : CRIT Chance or CRIT Damage.
- Legs : SPEED.
- Blueprint Sphere : Imaginary Damage.
- Union Rope : Energy Recovery.
Substats:
- Speed
- Rupture effect.
- Critical damage.
- Critical Chance.
- ATK %.
As for artifact sets, we have the following two options:
Wild Ear Holster
- 2 pieces : +12% ATK.
- 4 pieces : +6 SPD and +10% Damage on Basic Attack.
The one that seems to us to be the best option overall, but the following would also be an option.
Bandit Wastelander
- 2 pieces : +10% Imaginary Damage.
- 4 pieces : Dealing damage to enemies that are affected by negative effects will increase the wearer’s CRIT Chance by 10%. If the target is affected by Prison, it will increase CRIT Damage by 20%.
And now his best Set of Ornaments:
Fleet of the Eternals
- 2 pieces : The VPs Max. of the bearer are increased by 8%. If the wearer’s Speed of this set is 120 or higher, the ATK% of all team members will be increased by 8%.
The typical set that we usually equip to the characters of the Way of Harmony to boost the ATK% of all the members of the group; Since we need a lot of SPD on our Yukong to get her to act before any other character in the party, we’ll hit the 120 SPD requirement with no problem.
BEST TEAMS
We will give some examples of equipment and recommended routes , but in the end what you should do is take into account the enemy’s weaknesses when building. Of course, the most beneficial thing will be to take her with other characters that share the same element as her, since Yukong grants an Imaginary Elemental Bonus for the entire team thanks to one of her additional abilities.

- 1 Hunt : Yanqing , Dan Heng or Sushang .
- 1 Nihility : Welt , Silver Wolf , or Sampo .
