by Creepers are surely both the most loved and the most hated enemy in Minecraft. We could say that this is almost the emblem of Minecraft and surely its extreme popularity is due above all to the catastrophe that these have caused many of us with their dreaded explosions.
Whether for better or for worse, the Creepers do not leave anyone in the community indifferent and it will be rare that they have not scared you a few times during your games in survival mode. For this reason I have decided to create this post in which I intend to collect a lot of advice to prevent us from these annoying enemies .
As the saying goes: “Prevention is better than cure”. The best thing we can do is avoid encounters with these, which in the end will always be a slight danger facing them.
WHEN DOES A CREEPER EXPLODE?
Luckily we have a foolproof method to detect when a Creeper is going to explode. Its mechanics is basically the following:
- When you are very close to it, it will begin to flash with white lights and in turn will emit a kind of whistle.
- If you don’t get far enough away from it (it’s not a great distance), it will explode after 1.5 seconds.
The key and the most basic thing to prevent their explosions will be to stay away from them. Especially when they blink and whistle ; if that happens, run for your life!
PROTECT YOURSELF PROPERLY FROM THE CREEPER IN MINECRAFT
Creepers will chase you as soon as you are within 16 squares of them, which is a good distance. It is utopian to think that one will never stealthily approach you while you are aware of something else.
For that reason I recommend that you wear good armor, the best you can. This will mitigate the damage from the explosion should you take it and may save your life.
THE LIGHT PREVENTS ITS APPEARANCE
Although it is true that the Creeper can move calmly when there is sun, unlike other enemies such as Zombies or Skeletons (which burn with sunlight); the rule that they will not spawn in a well-lit area still applies .
So you know, keep your shelter very well lit and you will prevent them from appearing in it to destroy it.
CREPERS ARE AFRAID OF CATS
This is surely the most effective method for the prevention of Creepers in Minecraft and it is that, as rare as it may be, they are very afraid of cats ; Could it be that they are allergic to these adorable beings?
They will never get too close to a cat, which is why it is a very good idea to tame an Ocelot to be your faithful companion on adventures. This will completely protect you from them unless you swoop down on them running like crazy (in which case you don’t value your life lol).
You can also place them in strategic places such as near the door of your house to prevent them from approaching even if you do not have too much light and well, just in case, right? You never have enough caution when it comes to a Creeper; which is why I recommend that you use most of the advice that I am giving you in this post for extreme protection against these explosive enemies.
WATER PREVENTS THEM FROM EXPLODING
What danger does a Creeper pose that cannot explode? Absolutely none! And it is for this reason, that the water is going to come in handy to protect us from them and while they are in it they will not be able to explode and we will be able to kill them calmly without fear of their explosions.
Having water nearby can save your life, you could even take advantage and throw water with your bucket in a dangerous situation so that they are in the water.
A GOOD MOAT WILL PROTECT YOU
Surrounding your house or land with a relatively deep moat will prevent the Creepers from approaching your shelter, basically because they are a bit dumb and don’t notice if they are going to fall into them; they just chase you in a straight line always aiming for their target.
If you do, you’re bound to run into some Creepers trapped in the pit one day. You can collect or kill them any way you want: Throw lava at them or shoot them with a bow for example, don’t be so crazy to jump headfirst into the pit lol.
In the same way we can create water moats to take advantage of the fact that they cannot explode and have a more effective moat. Remember that while they are in the water we can safely kill them.
And what would already be the best of the best, would be to create a lava pit . Since as they enter it they will begin to take damage and quickly die in terrible suffering.
Anyway, be careful when you leave your house, they could wait for you by the door; because even if you have created a moat… surely there is a bridge that you pass over and the situation could arise. That’s as long as you don’t use a covered tunnel to get out of your shelter, although you’d have the same problem getting out after all lol.
SPIDER WEBS SLOW THEIR MOVEMENT AND EXPLODE TIME
Spider webs come in especially handy to prevent their explosions. They are not like water, which in itself is better since they directly cancel them, that is true. However, we will obtain two benefits from spider webs that must also be taken into account:
- These will be trapped in the web and will move very slowly, making it more difficult for them to get close to you.
- In addition to the above, it also causes them to take longer to explode , which is a tremendous help in preventing their explosions.
As you can see, we have many ways to prevent them, so use these tips wisely to avoid a death by explosion or what is even worse… that a Creeper destroys something valuable with an explosion; I think there is nothing more painful in Minecraft and surely more than once these have made you go through a real hard time.
