ALL DARKEST DUNGEON CURIOS

ALL DARKEST DUNGEON CURIOS

The Curios are some elements that we will find in our Darkest Dungeon expeditions in which we can interact to obtain… well, a little bit of everything.

You can get Gold, Gems, Beads, Relics… and you can even take negative things as gifts such as Disease, Bleeding, Stress… it will depend on the Curio and also on whether we use the relevant provision to act with it (each one has their own) . And it is that the loot in many cases will vary depending on whether we use an object to interact or not (and what object it is).

I already told you that learning all the Curios and their interactions by heart is quite a complex task, so I will leave you here the list of all of them and how you should interact with them.

CURIOS FROM EACH ZONE IN DARKEST DUNGEON

Each zone has some exclusive curios , so it would be highly recommended to take a look at the zone that you are going to go before each expedition. I leave you a link where I comment on all the interactions in each area:

    • Curios of the Ruins .
    • Forest Curios .
    • Curios of the Labyrinth .
    • Curios of the Cove .

    COMMON CURIOS

But, in addition to this, there are some Curios that can appear in all areas of Darkest Dungeon. As you will find these everywhere, it would be highly recommended that you learn them well. I leave you the list:

    ELDRITCH ALTAR

    • Without using object:
      • 50%: Nothing.
      • 40%: +25 stress.
      • 10%: Remove Negative Trait.
    • Using Holy Water: Remove Negative Trait.

We start with what is undoubtedly one of the best Curios in Darkest Dungeon and the reason why we should always carry at least 1 or 2 units of Holy Water ; otherwise do not interact with it.

If we use the Holy Water in this Curio, we will be able to eliminate a random Negative Trait from one of our characters; specifically it will be one of the character with which we interact, so make sure to do it with the one that interests you the most.

    SHAMBLER’S ALTAR

    • Not using item: Nothing.
    • Using Torch: Summon the Shambler.

Don’t even think about using the Torch . You will summon a VERY complicated boss that will leave you fine, do it only when you have the most advanced game and everything more under control.

    OPEN SAFE

    • Without using object:
      • 75%: Any loot x2.
      • 25%: Infection.

A very basic Curio that has no object interactions. It’s well worth it even with the risk of Infection, which in the end isn’t such a big deal, a bit of damage to one of your characters (as you can also choose which one).

    DRAWER

    • Without using object:
      • 75%: Relic.
      • 25%: Nothing.

As you can see, there is no risk in this one, so you must always interact with it.

    CHANDELIER

    • Not Using Item: Torch x1

Probably the simplest Curio of all, it doesn’t have much of a mystery, when you interact with it you get a free torch .

    INHERITANCE CHEST

In this we have 2 variants (which cannot be differentiated in any way), but luckily, they work in a very similar way:

    variant 1

    • Without using object:
      • 75%: Relics x2.
      • 12.5%: Hemorrhage.
      • 12.5%: Infection.
    • Using Skeleton Key: Relics x4.
    • Using Antidote: Relics x3.

    Variant 2

    • Without using object:
      • 50%: Any Loot x2.
      • 25%: Hemorrhage.
      • 25%: Infection.
    • Using Skeleton Key: Any Loot x3.
    • Using Shovel:
      • 66.6%: Any Loot x2.
      • 33.3%: Nothing

In the end, his thing is to always use the Skeleton Key since in both cases it is the best we can do. The interactions with the Shovel or with the Antidote ignore them because you cannot know which of the 2 chests it is and you could waste resources. If you don’t have Keys, I would interact without an item since the risk is pretty low; just make sure you’re interacting with a character who isn’t heavily hit with health.

    ABANDONED BACKPACK

    • Without using object:
      • 60%: Provisions + Gold/Gems x2 + Journal Entry.
      • 20%: Activate the Patrol.
      • 20%: Nothing.

Another object with which we must always interact since there is no type of penalty.

    PILE OF BOOKS

    • Without using object:
      • 22.2%: Random Positive Trait.
      • 22.2%: +25 stress.
      • 16.7%: Journal Entry.
      • 16.7%: Nothing.
      • 11.1%: Random Negative Trait.
      • 11.1%: -25 Torchlight.
    • Using Torch: +100 stress.

Zero doubts with this one, pass over it completely .

    COAT

    • Without using object:
      • 75%: Gold.
      • 25%: Nothing.

Another pretty basic Curio, as you can see, you should always interact as there are zero risks.

And with this we have already seen all the common Curios, remember that above you have a link where you can see the exclusive Curios that each area has. As you have seen, they do not have much of a mystery, the ones that you should learn very well are those of Eldritch’s Altar and Shambler’s (one for being very beneficial and the other because you can get involved in something you can’t even imagine).
